Most Skilled Sequel

I think I'm just gonna unfollow at this point if this doesn't turn around. Never thought I'd see one of my favorite dumb fun things in fiction become something people get so pointlessly salty over.

I don't recall seeing that one, and yes, swordsmasters can be precise.
It's literally in your blog which you haven't read apparently.

Oh you mean like precise enough to cut metal with paper?

Or good enough to literally fight probability with skill?

This thread was fine before, it became bad once taskmaster came in

Wait, I want to ask for context, but I feel he like it would end up with an explanation on how he flickered between dimensional grids and became 2D to dodge something for an instant. Dodging a millimeter out of the way sounds... Confusing. Why? And was it on purpose? Why on purpose?

Yeah like I totally have the time to read the longest thing on the site.

Raw strength, not precision.

Sure. Let me throw Ikki against Simon and say his skill will get him out of that. Like seriously, how on earth can you feasibly say that's skill?

Well excuse me for being the one person who doesn't buy into what you claim for Ikki. Marvel aside, I would've acted this way for any other character, because to be frank, I take everything you say about Ikki with a tablespoon of salt.

That was only one case but I cringed at that Ittou Rasetsu thing with "he didn't even need to breathe", like anyone can stop breathing for 1 second I guess

Also, Ikki copying shit isn't his most aggregeous feat. Beating someone who should by all means blitz him beyond his perception via skill is close, but I can't mentally register him right now because he's creepin really good.

Yes it was on purpose. And it's dodging the attacks by less than a millimetre, not moving less than a millimetre

Why? Why would he do that? To... Save energy?! What purpose does that serve and how can that even be useful, or translate to offensive precision?

That's not by holding his breath like you or i do. It's by literally shutting down its organs.

@cal

It's skill. He couldn't do it with ap he did it with skill. Slash precision.

By actually knowing what happened. Probability and fate couldnt make him fail.

Saves time and distance. Dodging by that much means he's basically in range before you even finish doing your stuff. Or ten i muhou which is a stance that makes all attacks miss with the minimal amount of movement

How do you even cut metal with paper though? What did he DO?! Did he make it only touch atoms or something— I... It's... It doesn't make any sense.

And... How do you fight that?! Can you give context on that interaction, because i'm worried that he somehow finessed reality into not doing what it was supposed to do?

Hide your lovers everyone, Ikki can outskill their undying loyalty and steal them from you if he wanted. Disgusting lmao

Like, Atomic Samurai cutting Atoms and any fighting style thing that can cause you to strike at a microscopic level is that superpower shit we were talking against. I think cutting metal with paper without hardening the paper or using magic or something. It's just bullshit. Fun. But bullshit. I'd accept it for the memes but not because it's legit.

I think we should make a "skill" page and have the definition of it be "Is theoretically possible with at most Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Information Analysis, Mimicry, and Telescopic sight". Not microscopic or X Ray. Telescopic so you can see far. But, you know, seeing far by itself is a power, not a skill. Should I make that thread?

Most of what ikki does is hax imo . stuff that are completly imposibble physically can't be called skill and be done with it .

next thing you know he is gonna throw a grain of sand at the sun with his tier 7 AP and one shot it but it will be because skillllzzzzz or whatever .

Analytical Prediction is also skill, in multiple series is like that, and Precognition sometimes can be, but eh.

Naeblis is my dude.

Analytical Prediction is good. Precog is really only advanced Analytical Prediction when it's actually skill, so no.

Body control is tricky. None of this organ moving stuff. I can agree with the broad idea of it because being able to control your body via your mind and shutting off your primal urges (sans laugh) or something like that is based on being able to do something far less broken irl by focusing. But then it becomes indistinguishable from biology Manip by moving organs and shutting them down and inducing hibernation via focus. At some point, it becomes one of those powers you get via skill, not skill itself.

Sasaki's stuff is pretty good, Thousand image Defense and his skills with the blade are pretty ridiculous. Especially considering in his fight against Poseidon he was outmatched in every category aside from skill. Before the match even began Sasaki was able to see 18 ways of Poseidon killing him before even moving a muscle.

This also doesn't just go for Ikki but for all the contestants. Feats > statements so show the feats or bow out.
The real cal howard said:
I don't doubt Yujiro has feats. I just doubt that his shown feats as opposed to his statements hold up. Same with the other people on the list.
...I'm going to assume this puts Vash back in the game, since he still has better "f e a t s" in gunplay and gunslinging than most of these characters' do in any area.

Why aren't you backing Rex Marksley or something?
I mean ffs, he also has better feats in gunslinging than most of these characters have feats in anything.

How is being accurate enough to cut on an atomic level a superpower? Thats just being precise enough to cut them. The only power involved is the enhanced eye sight or whatever sense needed to even percieve it.

The cutting metal with paper seems outlandish but people can cut wood, plastics and I think soft metals with paper. This is just fiction doing stuff on a greater scale than real life which is what the accuracy feats listed above are.

Even shit like Trackless Step make sense when its the user doing something to make your brain register them as not there. Its basically limited hypnosis/subliminal messaging from what I understand. Its just abusing a feature of the body much like pressure points.

Pretty much what Anonymous blank said. Paper can cut stuff, and we're talking about a dude who literally causes "0 excess energy" (which is impossible by the very 1st rule of thermodynamics). So it cutting strong metal is not superpower level.

And yes Trackless Step is similar to hypnosis (which can happen irl), it's just on cracks, but again it's fiction, it's bound to be more exaggerated than real life.

Eh, his combat skill pretty much stops at "better than all martial arts possible", the rest being plain superpowers.

His luck is the only thing supernatural about him. Can't say for the Analysis and Clairvoyants though. His combat skill should be not looked down upon because he basically surpass all the Ultimates like soldier, martial artist, boxer, swordsman and many more in their capabilities casually.

He can see the future decades ahead, he can become 100% invisible to people and machines, drive people insane with his aura, make people go insane by singing badly, and so much more.

His abilities are the crux of the above explained "superpowers" that don't translate to skill.

But he has stuffs like soldier, martial artist, boxer and swordsman that are not supernatural. You have characters in the list that has way more broken abilities like Rimuru Tempest

The "all martial arts" covers most of those on it's own. He can also use any weapon effectively, but those don't have any feats to them at difference of martial arts that he is above to the point that luck can't help against him like Kenshiro.
