"Would it make me sound like a skyrocket to say I've had the most fun in a square go when I'm closest to kickin' the bucket?" She asked, "Yer describing a proper good time to me."
"I wouldn't call that a good time..." he shook his head, "Compare everything you did as you had your fun and multiply it a hundredfold... It's not nice..."

"Heh..." Sylvia chuckled and just shook her head, following Siglos down the road... all the while, Siglos would feel his Stigma itch, gentle waves of foreign, invisible mana pulsating in his palm.
Siglos glanced down at the palm pressed within Sylvia's grip, feeling the the gentle stream of Alexia's mana as it entered his body. In any other circumstances, such a phenomenon would be...concerning. But he trusted Alexia. This was a gift from her, in his mind, one of the several reasons he appreciated meeting her in the city. Idly, he rubbed his palm against Sylvia's, his mind turning to the streets ahead.

While the lockdown made the business a bit more constrained than it would be otherwise, numerous stalls and stores were still open, just as the bookstore had been. The scent of Everian cuisine wafted from restaurants, the soft clink of jewelry sounding out from jewelry makers. Many still kept the scholarly air one may expect from an Everian...minor nobles and other people of relative importance carrying themselves with the dignified strut of high society...while others were simply workers, trying to get by in the wealthy city.

"...Let me k-know if you'd like me to...buy anything for you, Sylvia. I...s-still have a little bit of money left..." Siglos said softly. His eyes continued to scan the surrounding buildings...eventually spotting the familiar smoke of a forge in the distance.

Mana continued to crackle within Siglos's palm, the feeling become evermore prominent as the seconds passed by. At the same time, Sylvia spoke.

"Oh, I couldn't ask for you to give me anymore..." She said nervously, shaking her head.

This distracted Siglos, the Everian only half-hearing the words of his mate as he felt the mana crackle in his palm. His ears twitched, his body tensing ever so slightly.

"...Uh....o-oh! You...you don't need to worry, It's...it's my...my uh...p-pleasure..." The man murmured absentmindedly, shifting his palm against hers.

"S-Still! You already paid so much. I don't wanna abuse your generosity-"

Sylvia's words would soon be drowned out by this new connection of mana forming within Siglos via his Stigma, a voice... a familiar voice... beginning to slowly ring within his head. It was... old, wise, and comforting all in one.

"Siglos? Siglos, do you hear me? I hope the connection isn't to broken at this distance..."

"......" Siglos froze where he stood, Sylvia feeling his hand slip away from her grip, as he quickly brought the Stigma to his face.

"V-Velen?" Siglos blurted out. He had spoken the words instead of thinking them, loud enough for Sylvia...and anyone nearby, to hear his sudden exclamation.

"Good, I seem to be getting through." Velen's voice continued to radiate within Siglos's mind, drowning out any other sound, and deafening Sylvia's most likely extremely confused questioning.

"I've been trying to contact you ever since I'd gotten your call last night, but... something had cut the connection."

Siglos cupped his pointed ears with both hands...a, futile effort, considering the voice was directly within his mind.

"S-something? O-oh...t-there....t-there was...woman...Charlotte. S-she...s-she did s-something to the call..." Siglos murmured. A bit agitated and confused, he took a sharp left, ducking into the alley between two shops so that he wasn't in the center of the street.

Siglos said nothing for a long moment, before slowly breathing out.

“…A…g-group of assassins…have infiltrated Aegis. T-the king is…dead, o-or…at least…missing.” The Everian said.

“…We…u-uh…found o-one of there…hideouts…erm…underneath the c-city. T-the l-leader escaped…b-but…we…d-destroyed most of their teleportation circles…”

“T-they…they uh…sent these…m-monsters after us. They…they were…unable to die…I-immortal, n-no matter how m-many times they were cut…or…or burned…” Siglos trailed off, choking a bit on his words.

“…T-the leader…he…he almost k-killed me. B-but…we…we…m-made….made it…out.” He finished.

"You don't need to speak anymore if it pains you." Velen said, "For now... I will send a transport to take you all back to the cathedral. Your mission is long since as complete as it can be... you've done well."

"...T-Thank you...V...Velen. I...." Siglos trailed off.

"...I'm g-grateful to you...truly. I-I'm s-sure...Jeanne and the...others will...be g-glad to leave this place..."

"Most definitely... moving on..." Velen said, before continuing. "I'm aware of you've formed a relationship with one of my old comrades, Alexis.. or, I suppose that she calls herself Alexia now. She was never good with names, I suppose..."

"...O-old comrade? Y-you...you know Alexia?" Siglos said softly.

If Velen could be seen(he could not be due to this being a telepathic communication), he would most certainly be nodding, affirming Siglos's suspicion.

"She was one of my inquisitors, many years ago... and I was surprised to find her again after she'd gone into hiding, in Aegis, mysteriously connected to you via a Stigma she never even gave to me..."

"...She's...she's helped us...so much. Helped...me so much. I...never would h-have thought she was...w-with the church all along. F-formerly...anyway..."

"Well, she wasn't helping you on my orders, rest assured." Velen said, "But if I could have given her orders to help, I would've, just to... assure you. Haha..."

Siglos chuckled softly...relaxing slightly as he grew used to Velen's voice in his mind.

"Thank you..I...appreciate that, Velen." Siglos said. He smiled for a moment...before the expression faded from his cheeks.

"...I...do have something I...s-should report to you."

"O-of course. I d-don't wish to...waste your time any further." Siglos said. He took a soft breath, slowly nodding to himself.

"...The Everian Court executed...w-what we suspect...was an innocent man yesterday. I-I'm not...sure if the...c-church has much...jurisdiction here but..." Siglos trailed off, closing his eyes.

"...The court is c-corrupted. I...I can personally..attest to that. If...i-if you can d-do anything for...Aegis, or it's people...please...do so."

"......" Velen was silent for a few moments, before letting out a sigh.

"I'd suspected that Everian royalty had been... abusing their powers, but most certainly not to this extent. Especially not in such a time of crisis. I will do what I can, when I can, Siglos."

"...T-thank you Velen. I...won't keep you any longer." He murmured.

"Alright, Siglos... the transport I sent should be here soon. I hope you are comfortable traveling by airship again... we're quite far away this time." Velen said, his words likely inciting confusion in the young man.

(I didn't even remember that-)

(This.)

Alexia stumbled around the kitchen a bit, thinking about what she could make the young Shalor. "Waffles again...? No, that's to... sugary. Something a bit more nutritious will help a boy his age."

She rummaged through her pantry, before pulling out a bag of dried oats... wondering what she could combine this with. "Maybe... yogurt...?"

She telekinetically opened her magical cooling storage, before pulling out a glass container of fresh, white yogurt. She poured the very slightly viscous Yogurt into a bowl, looking down at the substance.

"Hm..." She looked for something to sweeten up the substance, and turned first to a container of cold orange juice. Gently pouring in a few table spoons of the liquid into the Yogurt, she used a small spoon to mix the substance into a more runny, but also a much more flavorful substance.

Afterwards, she would gently sprinkle a decent portion of the dried oats onto the mixture, before promptly using the same spoon she had used prior to mix the oats into the substance. Oats were a versatile ingredient- They absorbed and released energy once consumed, providing a moderate boost in general energy. The oats would gently soak in the yogurt, causing the substance to thicken and become more viscous as prior.

With a smile on her face, Alexia thought about how she could top off this small breakfast, which was coming together quite nicely. The texture of the dish as of now was quite chewy, so a more crunchable substance was needed to balance out.

"Does he enjoy peanuts? Maybe almonds? Well, we'll use both." She thought to herself, telekinetically pulling out a pag of dried almonds and dried peanuts. To provide an extra crunch, she would remove a portion of both from their containers telekinetically, and while in the air, she would gently roast them with fire magic until they'd been browned a bit more. Then, she would sprinkle the mixture of peanuts and almonds onto the bowl.

"And for some more sweetness... strawberries, of course." Alexia took whatever strawberries she had, cut them into fine cubes (discarding the leaf part), and sprinkled dozens of the cubes across the substance, allowing them to settle with the nuts and oats for a few minutes.

"I hope he'll like it... I did go a bit out there." Alexia chuckled to herself, scratching the back of her neck awkwardly. But... it smelled nice, at least, and she hadn't used any rotten or spoiled ingredients, thinking deeply about what would be most healthy for a human boy.

"Yeah... I'm sure he'll like it. I'm sure."

Alexia came out with the finished product of her few minutes of labor, and placed the bowl in front of Shalor.

"Here you are! I uh... hope you like it." @DaReaperMan

(She made bircher muesli. If you don't know what that is look it up.)
"thank you!" Shalor said before immediately trying to dig in

(I love forgetting things, don't you? Lol)

"Alright, Siglos... the transport I sent should be here soon. I hope you are comfortable traveling by airship again... we're quite far away this time." Velen said, his words likely inciting confusion in the young man.
"...Far away...?" Siglos murmured. He was tempted to ask what the man was referring to, but quickly shook his head, not wanting to waste the man's time as he had done in times past.

"...I...t-think I can...manage, airship travel now. T...thank you, Velen..." Siglos said, taking a soft breath.

"thank you!" Shalor said before immediately trying to dig in
"So... how does it taste?" Alexia asked with a crooked smile, holding her hands behind her back.

"Good. I'll talk to you soon, Siglos..." Velen said, before his voice slowly faded away...

"Si... g... o...! Siglos! Siglos!!" And was replaced by Sylvia shouting at him and shaking him in the middle of a dark alleyway, it having appeared like he'd simply froze and began murmuring to himself after moving away without warning.

Siglos jumped, the man falling back into her grip as he stared up at her.

"...S-Sylvia! I-I'm...I...I-I'm okay!" He yelped out.

"Good...!" Shalor murmured after swallowing his mouthful and digging right in for more like a Ravenous beast
Alexia let out a relieved sigh, "Good... very good. I was worried you wouldn't like it, since I did come up with it on the spot..."
Siglos jumped, the man falling back into her grip as he stared up at her.

"You are...? You didn't get possessed by a poltergeist or something, right?" Sylvia asked worriedly.

"I really loved it, Alexia... but to be fair I was just a simple village boy, so it doesn't take too much to make me love something like this!" Shalor said, chuckling as he moved to get another healthy bite
