"I really loved it, Alexia... but to be fair I was just a simple village boy, so it doesn't take too much to make me love something like this!" Shalor said, chuckling as he moved to get another healthy bite
"Well, I am to please, not to meet the minimum of your standards... haha..." Alexia said awkwardly, scratching the back of her neck. "I'm just glad you're enjoying yourself, child."

“A…A polter what-“ Siglos said blankly. He quickly shook his head.

“N-no…erm…no…V-Velen was talking to me…I-in my mind…” He said.
"In your... mind. That's uh... huh. That's weird. Is he allowed to just mind call people...?" Sylvia questioned.
"And I'm glad for you being around..." Shalor said much less awkwardly as he moved to finish his meal
"I'd suppose you'd... want to rejoin your friends, now?" Alexia asked.

"I'd suppose you'd... want to rejoin your friends, now?" Alexia asked.
"I'd like to keep in contact with you too, but yeah, I do want to rejoin them..." Shalor responded, his chains shifting to be more comfortable

"You... should be able to keep in contact with me via Siglos. He has my Stigma, after all." Alexia explained.
Siglos stared at her blankly for a moment.

"Sylvia...he's the head of the church...h-he can...mind call a-anyone he wants to..." The Everian said softly.
"Uh... cool." Sylvia said awkwardly, "What did he say to you, then?"

"Oh...yeah. He's s-sending an airship to...c-come retrieve us soon. It...may take a bit...s-since they said they were...q-quite far away...but we'll be able to leave w-when it arrives." The Everian said, taking a soft breath.

"...I've..a-already informed him of what went on here."
"Oh, cool. It might be a while before they get here, thou- Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh." Sylvia's eyes widened as she looked behind Siglos.
"Uh... what's a Stigma?" Shalor asked, very confused
"Oh... It's a unique rune, that allows you to connect two people through their Mana, or their Aura, in some cases. It's how I can communicate with Siglos, and share my Mana with him." Alexia explained.
Duine returns to the inn with a smile on her face, and covered in injuries.

"Oi! What's going on out here?'
"...Could you not be so loud, ma'am?" Alexia requested, letting out a sigh.

"Oh... It's a unique rune, that allows you to connect two people through their Mana, or their Aura, in some cases. It's how I can communicate with Siglos, and share my Mana with him." Alexia explained.
"Oh okay..." Shalor murmured in faint understanding, he didn't know what a Rune was either, but that was besides the point

"S-Sylvia?" Siglos said softly. He turned around, his eyes following the Rakshashin's gaze.
"Uh... just... that airship you were on about... it's kinda like approaching? Not here yet, still like a really far away, but it's approaching rapidly..." Sylvia murmured. It was doubtful Siglos could actually see it at this distance, but Sylvia's eyesight was likely good enough to do so.

"We're... still technically on lockdown, right? Don't you think the security here wouldn't favor an unscheduled visit...?"

"I guess... but considering that ice bitch literally had a guy executed for nothing, and she's probably directing the court in whatever way since the king's gone..." Sylvia scratched the back of her neck, "I just... don't wanna have to prepare for the worst. Not after... all this."

"Erm... I don't exactly know where everyone is Alexia, Can you point me in their direction?" Shalor asked the Evarian woman

"Hmmm..." Kargath growled to himself as he moved to where he believed Sylvia and Siglos were, keeping an eye on the transport

Siglos shifted uncomfortably where he stood, taking a quiet breath.

“If…if you’d like. We could simply…gather the others and…inform her of the s-situation. She…already knows we’re with the church…” He murmured.

"Sorry, lass..." She said.
"Well, why don't you go search with this charming young lady?" Alexia said, though she wouldn't actually consider Duine "charming", and was only really trying to be polite. "I'm sure they can't be to far away from the inn. Aegis is a massive city, but during the lockdown movement has been quite limited in comparison to before. You can't go where you can't be found."

"That would be ideal..." Sylvia let out a breath, "Or well, you could inform her of the situation and I just stay behind... she definitely doesn't like me, but you don't seem to agitate her as much as the others. I mean... Big Rakshasin woman walking around in a city filled with Everian nobility? If I wasn't with the church I'd be hung on a cross by now, I bet..."

Siglos flinched ever so slightly, his ears twitching underneath his hood.

"...S-Sylvia...I..." Siglos trailed off, shuffling around nervously.

"......"

"...If...I-if y-you are ok with...s-separating for a bit. I c-can go...I...I suppose..." Siglos muttered.

"I'll be right outside the door, babe." Sylvia assured, "As close as I can be, at least. I just think it'd be better for you to do the actual... talking part. You feeling me right now?"

(I need to re-up my Scottish slang lol)

"It dinnae take a genius to know 'ah probably come across as a loud scunner," Duine said, "But a search'll give me something to do."

"...I... don't really want to run around alone in an Evarian city where there's been... occurrences. And running with someone I don't know... doesn't really help." Shalor said, his shoulders sagging into a more improper form as the boy sat there and practically twiddled his thumbs

"There are easier and less painful ways to commit suicide, Siglos." Kargath said, emerging from the shadows, his growly voice kept low enough to where he couldn't be overheard even with Evarian sharp hearing, the massive pale Orc contrasting with the beautiful city, scars, a warrior's grit, this was no place for the Gladiator.

Siglos hesitated for a moment, before chuckling ever so slightly.

"...I...feel you, Sylvia. I-i'll...I'll do my best..." Siglos said softly. While he was...visibly nervous, he did not tremble as he so often did when he was scared.

"...May we w-walk together until then...?" He said, gingerly raising his hand so she could grab it.

"O-oh!" Siglos turned towards the orc as he spoke, the Everian instinctively moving closer to Sylvia as the large man appeared.

"...Oh...hello Kargath. I-I'm...I'm...erm...sure i-it will be fine..." Siglos said softly, clearly a bit uncertain.

"In parts, both of you are correct. We cannot trust Aegis to not shoot down the Church's escort, or af least try to, and we do not want to be in the enemy's capital if a war erupts with the Church against Aegis. However, while we cannot trust the Ice Witch, we can tell her what could be to come if the ship is shot down. We may not live to see it, but Aegis, or it's council, would fall in that war. It is not one they can risk taking. But they may know that anyway and do it regardless. There is no correct answer here. Only answers with different consequences." Kargath explained, his voice going lower as he leaned down to Siglos, the massive Gladiator Blunt in his approach to the situation

"Well, you won't be alone!" Alexia pointed out, "And while there have been... many incidents, in the past days... the security in Aegis is quite tight, normally. But if that doesn't ease your fears... just know that I will always be watching you, child. Both of you."

"A city going to war with its own religion...? That sounds... hah." Sylvia laughed ever so slightly at Kargath's long statement, before nodding.

"Siglos will be able to handle it." She said, grasping Siglos's hand gently when he held it out to her. "I believe in him."

"O-oh..." Siglos said, a soft blush stretching across his pale features as he felt Sylvia's hand envelop his own. A soft smile stretched across his lips, the Everian gingerly nodding.

"Sylvia's...right. The Everian council is bold...b-but...not even the Ice Witch would d-dare to... challenge the church." Siglos said softly.

"...I-I'm...sure once I explain e-everything...t-they'll understand the situation. P-probably..."

"..." Shalor was quiet for a moment before he breathed out, a sound that would be welcome as one of reluctant acceptance "okay... as long as you could point us in... the right direction... please?" Shalor asked, standing up, and looking at Alexia with a slight smile, one that said that he wasn't changed all that much from what he'd seen... and it was just the shock that got to him.

"You would be surprised at the lengths individuals go to try and keep power." Kargath commented, rolling his broad, muscular, and scarred shoulders before he looked lower at Siglos with yellow piercing eyes

"Are you prepared for the situation in which they refuse? Keep that in mind and prepare yourself for both scenarios as you walk to a possible death."

Siglos shivered ever so slightly, his grip growing tighter on Sylvia's marred flesh. He said nothing for a moment, before taking a soft breath.

"...I-if she wanted us dead, she could have us e-executed at any time. S-she's the interim leader, after all..." Siglos muttered. He recalled the face of the man who had been executed the day prior, the thought sending another small shiver down his flesh.

"...S-she may...d-dislike our presence...but s-she seems w-willing to let us live...f-for...t-the erm...moment..."

"Well, if you head South from my inn, you should find them. Specifically the big orc with the white skin, Sylvia, and Siglos." Alexia said to Shalor, simply describing Kargath as the 'big orc with white skin' since she never actually bothered to learn his name.

Sylvia growled ever so slightly, before calming herself down, letting out a shaky breath which quickly stabilized itself.

"Besides... if she did kill Siglos, that'd basically be the same as declaring war on the church. We're all agents of the Archbishop." She said, "And the Church of Light is one of the most powerful forces in all of the known world... if Aegis basically does the same thing as declaring war, they won't win. She knows that."

(Kargath has pale white skin lol)

"All right, just down the road right?" Shalor asked, beginning to move away and leave to go run after them with a slight smile

"Then why go to talk with the Ice Witch. The Church is the only organization in-range to my knowledge that can field a flying palace like that." Kargath responded, not stopping them from going it seemed...
