The shopkeep ran a discerning eye over the pair once more before he gave his answer, cocking his head ever so slightly.

"Tomes, scripture, and scrolls on enchanting and runes are over there..." The shopkeep pointed to the far left of the shop, where the least amount of people were concentrated. "You should hopefully find what you need."
Siglos smiled, giving the man a small nod.

“T-thank you!” He said softly. He smiled, before quickly scampering over to that section of the store, his hand leaving Sylvia's for the first time since they started walking.

"And can I help you, sir...? Ma'am...?" The shopkeep said suspiciously, looking up at Sylvia as she watched Siglos scamper away.

"It's ma'am. And... yes, you can help me." Sylvia murmured, "Do you have anything on... biology? Medicine, physiology, stuff like that..."

The shopkeep thought for a moment, before answering. "Are you looking for something simple, to pass the time? Or are you a student of sorts."

"...call me a student. I'm doing... my own research." Sylvia explained, "The more thorough and complex, the better."

"You'll have to head to the back for that. I'd recommend Julius' series on mysticism and physical ascetics." The shopkeep said, drawing Sylvia's attention to the deepest recesses of the shop.

"I've read a bit from Julius... he did work with asceticism..?" Sylvia questioned.

"Yep. Some kind of... guide to physical and self discipline. Goes really in depth at some points, though some of it is also religious mumbo-jumbo." The shopkeep explained.

Sylvia nodded, turning to the side. "I appreciate the help. Thanks."

"Uh huh." The shopkeep said nonchalantly, before leaning back in his chair, preparing to drift back into his nap which Sylvia and Siglos had promptly interrupted. Sylvia merely sighed, glancing at Siglos as he did whatever he was doing... she kept her senses locked onto the man, before trudging to the back of the store to do her own research.

While Noah and Erebus spoke, Duine retaliated by swiftly delivering a palm strike, swiftly maneuvering to poke Noah in the eyes with one hand. With the other and at the same time, she tossed her sword toward Erebus. There was more power, more... ferocity behind the sword toss than any strike she had launched at Noah. Regardless of the success of the strike, she would form another sword and darted toward Erebus at full speed, swinging her blade at him with the intention of doing more damage than a standard spar.

As she moved in, she was wary of a sneak attack from Noah. Something like that could very well occur, so she cause her own shadow to punch her in the stomach, yet another body shot that would come in later.
Luckily Noah had her senses well tuned, although she did not expect the initial attack, she could move her body enough to avoid any dangerous attack such as that blow to the stomach by recoiling.

With a deft flick of one of his black machetes, he parried her strikes, guiding them harmlessly aside. He gracefully danced around her, evading with agile footwork when necessary, all while maintaining perfect composure. Erebus, ever watchful, seized moments to launch calculated counterattacks— kicking Duine towards Noah, before swiftly dashing behind Noah whilst she was dodging the female Rakshashin's attack, doing a sweep to make her fall down to Duine.

"Okay..."

"Okay..."
Tendrils of shadow swiftly sprouted from the back of the female Rakshashin to stop her own momentum as she caught his leg with both hands. She smirked, using the opportunity the moment she caught it to flip him over in mid-air, with the shadowy tendrils swiftly morphing into a fist and attempting to strike Erebus while he was airborne.

Should the attack connect with "Big Yin", she then would transmogrify the fist into tendrils again, wrapping around him. She did a back handspring, using the momentum from her body alongside the tendrils to launch him toward Noah. She would then take off at full speed, rushing toward Erebus and Noah, growing out her horns before severing them. The broken off horns were in the shape of gauntlets on her hands. Once at a very close range, she would perform a corkscrew and tucking in between them before stretching out her limbs, kicking Noah, while using both gauntlets to try and strike Erebus.

However, if her strike should miss, she would then immediately take to a defensive position, though still maintaining the aggressive offence, flattening the shadow fist into a shield with legs or tendrils that reached out of it, a mad weapon: a spider shield that would strike with the goal of bombarding the male Rakshashin with its eight legs. One of her hands now free, she utilized her telekinesis to try and fling Noah closer to her. She hadn't forgotten about her other sparring partner.

In the split second before the shadowy fist could strike, he twisted and contorted his body mid-air, narrowly evading the oncoming attack by doing fast flips. With a fluid and precise movement, he landed gracefully on his feet, but the giant sword behind his back... was no longer to be seen.

The sword was thrown in the sky, now plummeting towards Duine. Should she had noticed, the moment Erebus attacked before, there'd be tiny little black strings— but strong enough not to break given it's driving the sword straight towards her. Charging again, he'd create two afterimages: one behind Noah that Duine is currently pulling, the other one still on the ground standing, about to charge by throwing black daggers towards his direction.

Siglos was... enamored, to say the least. This was the first time he was able to freely browse through the wealth of knowledge Aegis could offer...centuries of enchanting experience...dozens of scholars...authors...people whom Siglos could only aspire to be...laid bare in the collection of books that decorated the shelves.

He could have spent hours browsing through pages...feeling the aged paper against his lithed fingertips...discovering secrets he would never have learned while self-taught. A part of him ached to do so...to join the many scholars in the halls of Aegis...and perhaps...in another life...he would have.

But not this one. Siglos took a soft breath, slowly scanning the titles for a book he would take with him. The larger ones would likely be a bit too pricey, but...he could still buy the lesser texts.

"Metal and Magic, an Intermidate Guide to Enchanting" Siglos whispered the title to himself as he grasped the book, gingerly pulling it from the shelves. Starting with intermediate texts when most of his prior work had been self-taught may be a bit...difficult...but he was more than willing to take the challenge, the events with the portal...and his creation of his mate's ring...giving him a bit of confidence in his ability to learn, if nothing else.

Putting the book at his side, he reached for a second one.

"The Art of Self-Defense. An Enchanters Guide to Combat" He whispered, gingerly pulling another book from the shelves. He hesitated for a moment, before slowly nodding. His earlier musings had already convinced him he should begin to develop ways to keep himself safe...and such a book would certainly...or...hopefully help him do that. He placed the book above the first, smiling ever so softly.

"The Dashing Enchanter. 100 Enchantments to Woo Your Lover"

Siglos stared at the title for a moment...a soft blush spreading across his cheeks. He glanced at Sylvia from across the room...before quickly putting the book underneath the others.

"...W-well...it...it couldn't hurt..." He muttered to himself. He continued to browse through the books in the library...content to stay in the section until he needed to leave.

Noah, without many options, disappear again in a cloud of smoke, moving to avoid the Erebus attacks and after Duine tried to use her telekinesis on the dragoness, with a jump, she noticed the presence of the real Erebus when she felt his flow of mana, so she change her sword in the shape of a hammer and increasing its density with enough force to knock out the male Rakshashin in the head

During the time she tried to knock him out, a buckshot cannon was fired, filled with a low dosage of coughing gas, enough to disorient but not to hurt. At the same time, he'd sidestep the attack gently and throw daggers towards her.

Alexia stumbled around the kitchen a bit, thinking about what she could make the young Shalor. "Waffles again...? No, that's to... sugary. Something a bit more nutritious will help a boy his age."

She rummaged through her pantry, before pulling out a bag of dried oats... wondering what she could combine this with. "Maybe... yogurt...?"

She telekinetically opened her magical cooling storage, before pulling out a glass container of fresh, white yogurt. She poured the very slightly viscous Yogurt into a bowl, looking down at the substance.

"Hm..." She looked for something to sweeten up the substance, and turned first to a container of cold orange juice. Gently pouring in a few table spoons of the liquid into the Yogurt, she used a small spoon to mix the substance into a more runny, but also a much more flavorful substance.

Afterwards, she would gently sprinkle a decent portion of the dried oats onto the mixture, before promptly using the same spoon she had used prior to mix the oats into the substance. Oats were a versatile ingredient- They absorbed and released energy once consumed, providing a moderate boost in general energy. The oats would gently soak in the yogurt, causing the substance to thicken and become more viscous as prior.

With a smile on her face, Alexia thought about how she could top off this small breakfast, which was coming together quite nicely. The texture of the dish as of now was quite chewy, so a more crunchable substance was needed to balance out.

"Does he enjoy peanuts? Maybe almonds? Well, we'll use both." She thought to herself, telekinetically pulling out a pag of dried almonds and dried peanuts. To provide an extra crunch, she would remove a portion of both from their containers telekinetically, and while in the air, she would gently roast them with fire magic until they'd been browned a bit more. Then, she would sprinkle the mixture of peanuts and almonds onto the bowl.

"And for some more sweetness... strawberries, of course." Alexia took whatever strawberries she had, cut them into fine cubes (discarding the leaf part), and sprinkled dozens of the cubes across the substance, allowing them to settle with the nuts and oats for a few minutes.

"I hope he'll like it... I did go a bit out there." Alexia chuckled to herself, scratching the back of her neck awkwardly. But... it smelled nice, at least, and she hadn't used any rotten or spoiled ingredients, thinking deeply about what would be most healthy for a human boy.

"Yeah... I'm sure he'll like it. I'm sure."

Alexia came out with the finished product of her few minutes of labor, and placed the bowl in front of Shalor.

"Here you are! I uh... hope you like it." @DaReaperMan

(She made bircher muesli. If you don't know what that is look it up.)

Sylvia wandered through the deepest recesses of the bookstore, looking through the many different titles from many different authors. Not a single specific title had particularly caught her interest... as, unlike her lover, she wasn't really interested in the ravings of mystics and scholars.

However... what she was interested in... was the workings of the body in mind. From both a philosophical standpoint, and from a literal standpoint. She wanted to understand not only others, but also herself.

And luckily for her... this bookstore contained exactly what she was looking for. She picked out a few titles and stacked them in her arms, notably works from the author "Julius..." but she neglected to splurge, not wanting to put a strain on Siglos's wallet. Though, she figured with his passion, he might be doing that himself with how he seemed to be picking out stacks upon stacks of literature...

"He's such a dingus." Sylvia thought to herself, chuckling playfully. She walked up to Siglos after a few more minutes of browsing, a few more titles stacked carefully and held in her arms.

"Find anything you like, hun?" She asked, looking down at him.

when she fell to the ground, Noah began to gasp for air due the gas, after that she seeing the daggers, which she blocked by turning her hammer into a shield, blocking the attack and then spitting a powerful wave of raw Magic from her mouth towards Erebus and Duine.

The daggers split again into buckshot before circling behind Noah as the wave of magic was blocked by Erebus kicking the ground, with the rubble acting as a shield, secretly held by small black tendrils to form a net.

Siglos's body jolted, seemingly too immersed in his reading to notice her approach. He shifted to look up to her...inadvertently dropping some of the books he was carrying.

"O-oh, my emerald! I-I didn't see you..." The Everian said, chuckling sheepishly. Gingerly, he leaned down to gather his fallen books.

"...Y-yeah I found...a...few I would like to buy..." he said. A few was...a bit of an understatement...it seemed like there were almost a dozen.

"A few, huh..." Sylvia thought, glancing down further as the man leaned to pick up his merchandise. She chuckled softly.

"Well, I'm glad that you're enjoying yourself, my gem."

The daggers split again into buckshot before circling behind Noah as the wave of magic was blocked by Erebus kicking the ground, with the rubble acting as a shield, secretly held by small black tendrils to form a net.
Noah's instincts warned her of the buckshot so she turned into smoke, as they passed through her, the buckshot were frozen and later broken by Noah's feet.

Should she see Erebus, he'd start to pull something as he did a tugging motion. With a clink, the buckshot was implanted with small explosives now set to explode after the pin was pulled— a layered plan.

Siglos finished gathering his books lifting them up with...a clear degree of difficulty, the stack extending from his chest up above his chin. He flashed her a smile...one obscured by the pile of books in front of his face.

"...Thank you...my love. Did you find anything you'd like?" He asked, breathing a bit heavily.

"I did find a few things, yeah." Sylvia said, adjusting the stack of books she had in her arm so they didn't drop, which was comprised of titles focusing on philosophy as well as biology and physics.

Siglos shifted his head to peer at the books she had in her hand, his pointed ears twitching. He couldn't see most of the titles from his position, but could gleam some of the topics.

"...Philosophy? I...didn't know you were so...scholarly, Sylvia." Siglos said, flashing her a small smile.

"I can be interested in philosophy and not be a scholar." Sylvia lightly shrugged, "It's just one of the things I picked up on after a while... and it is an interesting topic."
"Heh...I suppose that's true. I'd love to h-hear your takes on it one day...if you're willing to share." Siglos said. With trembling arms, he began to move through the enchanting aisle, heading towards the front desk.

"Uh huh... are you sure that you have enough money on you to be buying that much, along with my stuff...?" Sylvia glanced down at Siglos's trembling arms, more focused on him than her philosophical opinions, which she maybe will share with him later.

"........" Siglos hesitated for a moment.

"...I've saved...a bit of money from when I was a...merchant. A...last resort fund, sort to speak...for when I needed a...important purchase." Siglos said, his voice lowered ever so slightly, becoming a bit somber.

"...This...is uh...hopefully...the last time I will be...visiting Aegis. At least...for a long while. And...I was...uh...never able to get this stuff when I was..." Siglos trailed off. Becoming increasingly quiet.

"Well..." Sylvia simply shrugged, and smiled. "It's your money, so do whatever you want. So long as you are happy, I am happy, my gem. I just want to help you make... wiser decisions, that's all."

“I….” Siglos trailed off for a moment, his ears twitching.

“T-think…think of this as an…investment, my emerald. The…the more I learn…the better my…wares will become. When this is all over…I…I’ll be in a better position to support…both of us, financially.”

"You don't have to keep trying to justify yourself..." Sylvia thought, deciding to keep her words to herself, before just shrugging once more.

"I suppose that makes sense. Again, whatever makes you happy makes me happy, my love."
“….” Siglos said nothing for a moment, before slowly breathing out.

“…Thank you. I…do appreciate your concern…my love.” Siglos said softly.

“And…since you’re...so concerned about me…can you…help me carry some of these…?” Siglos said. He chuckled lightheartedly, but the trembling in his arms indicated they would collapse at any moment.

"Oh! Of course, sorry..." Sylvia chuckled awkwardly, before reaching out her marred, sizeable hand to hold Siglos's stack of books. Should he yield the stack to her, they would prove to be even lighter than a feather to the Demoness, as she balanced the stack perfectly in her palm, without even the most minute of shifting.

"...I'm still surprised how...s-strong you are, Sylvia." Siglos said, chuckling softly.

"Almost makes me wish we had met sooner...I would've loved a helping hand on the road."

"You could... certainly benefit from putting on a bit more muscle, definitely." Sylvia chuckled, "But with the work you do, that'll come naturally. I once got a bunch of my teeth knocked out when a blacksmith sucker punched me... they've got strong ass arms."

"Well, just telekinetically bending stuff is a lot easier than manually doing it, obviously..." Sylvia shrugged a bit, "But there's no fun in just letting magic do everything for you, in my opinion. It's a lot more meaningful to make something with your own hands. Shows you really care about what you're doing, at least, that's what I think."

"I'm glad you agree. I...I just think it's hard to erm...fully express myself with magic alone." Siglos said. He scratched his neck, chuckling awkwardly.

"...The feeling of the tools in my fingers...of the heat as the forge fire is lit...of seeing the metal bend and shape with each hit of my hammer..." He trailed off, his ears twitching.

"...A-anyway. It's uh...something I'm...passionate about...I...g-guess."

The shopkeep glanced up once again, their presence causing his ears to lightly twitch. He sighed, then sat up, his eyes widening at the immensity of literature Sylvia was carrying...

"You're... buying all this?" The man asked, cocking his head.
