I have mostly finished my most recent BFDI revision thread, but there's one more point that I proposed that still has inconclusive discussion. I ask that you please settle the matter, and write your answer in the thread to make an impact. Below is what you'd be settling.

The ability itself isn't the manipulation of the different states of matter. The characters aren't portrayed as elemental benders in any circumstances; they're portrayed as being able to treat all characters as solid regardless of if those characters have solid bodies or not. In “Elemental Intangibility”, the characters circumvent the “Intangibility”, not control the “Elemental”. The ability to treat non-solid states of matter as solid is Non-Physical Interaction.

Also, I thought of a comparison to make it easier to understand the perspective; Coiny pushing Firey back by slapping him shouldn't count as Fire Manipulation, for the same reason as if Coiny pushed back a ghost in the same way by slapping them, it wouldn't count as Soul Manipulation.
