goin off his profile, the guy hasn't been shown to do it to actual characters, since those instances seem like gags
this is also Invincibubble Spongebob, I don't recall him using anything other than bubbles as a form of offense
and Power Stars Mario has Dimensional Travel, so he can recover either way

Doesn't SpongeBob one-shot here? Mario is baseline while SpongeBob scales above 183 zettaFOE.

Mario has a decent scaling chain above baseline, and his plethora of Stat Amps, Stat Reducers, and Passive Healing against Spongebob should render that advantage basically null
he's also got two forms of AD, one of which allows him to grow stronger in proportion to the amount of damage he's taken, so he could potentially close the gap too

Also with Self perception Mario can have time to let him see attacks or read whatever sponge can throw at him. Mario does resist BFR with the giga bell. And on Mario's page he has 71 layers of power nulling. With the quartz charm Mario can half spongebobs attacks by 50%. But again with the ghost medal, Btub Ring, And Bracer. Mario's healing is incredibly for his standards, and his stat amps can go up to 50% for not onky his defense but his speed as well. Im just stating what Mario can do here and Im holding my vote.

SpongeBob will usually do karate as a first resort, but he can do other things if he knows it’s ineffective. Not to mention, Mario’s going to have a difficult time trying to hit him thanks to his immense luck from being saved from danger at convenient times.
That being said, if Mario somehow finds a way to kill SpongeBob, he will just come back to redo the fight.

Mario could use his Dash Mushrooms, or turn into a bullet bill to quickly close the distance, if not outright blitz Spongebob
and perhaps through trial-and-error, he could also resort to using a quick combo of the Stopwatch to time-stop him, and Cappy (with his 2 layers of Possession) to capture him since Sponge's resistance to Possession seems baseline and he lacks resistance to time-stop entirely
