There is one timeline, however that timeline contains multiple universes. we've literally been shown and told this in Dr strange 2016 and Loki.
Ancient 1: "This universe is only one of an infinite number"
Dormammu: Has absorbed multiple other realities before coming to earth.
Loki: Showed 20+ adult loki variants in episode 5 each representing a different universe.
