MCU Phase 5 General Discussion Thread

Would it be better to make a page called 'Order of the Watchers' instead of three separate ones for the Eminence, Incarnate and Executioner

They could work as a 'Trios' page, have clear unique hax when they work together, and are pretty much the same character with slight differences lbr

Probably they all have the same abilities outside their weapon of fighting which doesn’t really provide any difference and they fuse which wouldn’t be possible to add if they were separate

Probably yeah, Eminence is just the one who leads and is the most fleshed-out I'd say. Just make an order profile, post a picture of all three, each one and their merged version and maybe two key (one for their individual self, the other for their merged self I guess)
 
her 2-A should be environmental destruction bc i dont see her using the time ripper in combat and that thing only like reduces the stability of timelines to the point they start disintegrating rather than instantly destroying them

She doesn’t use the sling rings either and never once used it for combat so don’t know why it’s there

I mean, Ned also gets this because he has the Ring and never really used it in combat, at least not in an offensive manner, so if he gets it, I don't see why she should use it, especially since she didn't display any difficulty using the Ring to create a portal, she just doesn't need it to use the Ring to fight

Ned shouldn’t even have a profile he doesn’t even fight or do anything deserving of one he can’t even always use the sling ring either as he couldn’t close the portal when they needed to in the final fight

Why does the sling ring even have a tier attached to it shouldn’t it be dura neg ?

Can't tell, I think this was discussed some time ago (might related to the fact the Russo stated the whole portal cut stuff wouldn't work against Thanos because Thanos is too strong so durability does play a role and thus it's not really dura neg but I'm not sure)

That would be a feat for thanos the same reason thanos wasn’t instantly put down by mantis mind hax because his mind was to strong something physicals don’t normally grant if the Russo didn’t think portal cuts wouldn’t work then thanos just gets resistance to that hax

Nothing states durability plays a role and even if it did this could always just be a situation where stats grants hax resistance in the mcu like it normally does say db where they can power through most hax

Well the Sling Ring tier is pretty well-established and there for multiple characters (pretty much all sorcerers who have one) so time to make a CRT for this I guess?

It should’ve never been established as tier based to begin with just because one person was stated to maybe be able to resist it doesn’t mean everyone can like Thanos himself has resistances that can’t be acquired just by being strong like mantis what makes the sling ring any different then that ?

Hey I don't know, I don't even know if my explanation is actually the good one, I just remember someone bringing this up at some point and that's it. But like I said, it's a pretty well-established element of the MCU profiles on the wiki. Strange, Wong, etc, all have this. So I think if you're on the side of removing that, I think a CRT will have to be made cause, again, this is a well-established tier in multiple profiles now

iirc the logic was that the WoG explanation for Thanos being able to survive a Sling Ring portal closing on him is that he’s too durable for it, which would mean that the portals must have an AP output that goes up to a certain limit. Not too sure how good that logic is but I’m pretty sure that’s why.

Hello Everyone!
This is my first MCU CRT, so I hope it goes smoothly. ☺️

This is a pretty simple change, I think.
Basically, my proposal revolves around the Sling Rings. In this interview, the Russo Brothers were asked why Doctor Strange didn't just cut off Thanos' hand with his magic, to which they responded with this:
A: Thanos' skin is almost impenetrable, we don't know whether Doctor Strange had the capability to do it. If he failed to cut it on time, Thanos would still able to do the snap. Doctor Strange realized this issue during his millions of test runs.

that’s very bad logic

Thanos in general already has resistance to things being strong wouldn’t give this would make no difference it doesn’t even make sense a hole in space has ap in the first place

Also they never actually said Thanos can tank they said they weren’t sure if it could

they credit it to skin as Thanos is described as almost invincible hax resistance would fall under invincible skin if you can’t resist something you can’t be an invincible
character

if Thanos skin is able to resist something that doesn’t mean it scales to everyone else heck the writers weren’t even sure if captain marvel could put the gauntlet on and survive despite her being stronger then Thanos they even say thor can’t do it despite scaling to Thanos and hulk was only able to because it was mostly gamma and he was made for it

Meaning Thanos in general has stuff that’s unique to him stuff he can do that others near his strength can’t

So what's the general opinion about it? CRT? (didn't think I would put one of the most accepted aspects of the MCU on this wiki into question when I asked if Cassandra could have a profile)

the opinion is not once is it’s ever stated it was because the portal cut was to weak ap wise but that Thanos skin to tough which still counts as a hax resistance meaning head canon that it has ap

You can’t have almost invincible skin if a spatial portal can cut you

This also goes with the fact there are things Thanos can do that people who scale to him outright can’t meaning things that aren’t related to how strong he is
