It's also not an excuse for having intense PTSD and 95% most likely not being mentally able to raise the child of the man who was essentially his second father.
That, and maybe they just don't get it, or it could be because when Kishimoto started writing Naruto he didn't think that was going to be the son of someone close to Kakashi so ofc he didn't raise Naruto.

You know guys, i think i can see where "Abused and neglected reader who is weak and betrayed and then becomes overpowered" comes from. It is not just present in fanfictions, it is present in a lot of animes.

Pretty much but weird thing is that in Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou (Surprisingly I like this anime) it reflects on a loser who gets not a very OP magic and gets shat on and in his struggle becomes OP but has a human heart and an actual personality rather than the usual edgy no personality MC.

Still wouldn’t really see myself ever doing this for my stories. It’s one thing if I’m doing stuff like harem stories, and even then I’m trying to at least give some “sense” for those. This and other kinds like having the MC being all cool and OP just isn’t my cup of tea to make.
Granted my OC MC’s are OP or do become something of it down the line later, but they aren’t the kind to flex it off with it.
Guess being the kind who just likes the characters and how they are is what my preferences be nowadays. Especially coming from reading visual novels.
