I'm not sure as to what temperature Asura's body can reach but the frozen lightning is quite ridiculous. It's not a lightning shaped chunk of ice instead there's actual lightning from Thor's hammer encased within it which does not seem to have disappeared. Even natural lightning has a temperature of 30,000 K (this is the reason we can see the "bolt" it's just really hot air) so imagine that being encased in ice for a century without it even getting close to melting.

Those G1 stats are vomit inducing even tho I believe Kratos has better AP. Surtur calc makes my eyes bleed
Regardless, point still stands for the most part. Asura needs a massive speed advantage for his AD to have enough time to surpass Kratos and avoid his haxes, but Kratos' own AD could probably buy him enough time to throw some random bullshit hax at Asura and kill him
As I said, stars have to align for Asura here because I don't think you can get Asura that much higher in speed

That assumes DB will use a similar calc, in the Kratos preview they gave him 2.4 quadrillion FTL due to uni shockwaves while in the old G1Blog, they put the same feat at 733 quadrillion to 1.4 quintillion FTL. So he may be a lot lower.

After Kratos killed Zeus, he came as Fear Zeus who basically one shot Kratos. Then Kratos gained power of Hope and basically stomped Fear Zeus. So uhh kinda feels like Kraros might have better strength growth in a way, no?

And to be fair, if you want to go the extra mile: you could scale Kratos to Thor's shockwaves, which encompassed all of Yggdrasil.

Kratos has it. Better AP, arsenal, hax. He has tertiary factors like skill but that rarely matters.
Asura has range, potent AD, endurance, mobility, experience, a few resistances to a few hax, but nothing as huge as Kratos' advantages.
Speed is up in the air, and depending which way it goes and how far is sort of what determines whether this is a easy Kratos W or he has to work for it.
Asura W is about as realistic as Omni-Man accurately winning against Bardock. Except Asura is sun disk-less

Hoping it won't stuff won't be cut because it's been a decade since we had a fight that had 9min of animated content since Goku vs Superman 1 ya gotta pull out all the stop here let it happened in the episode or at worst have a unreleased cut of it later for everyone

This could also be DevilArtemis' redemption fight after the release of OmniDock. And I don't mean any disrespect towards DA, he's a genuinely great animator, but OmniDock was just ass all around.

Which again brings up my point about bland cookie cutter story boards. I genuinely think I'm onto something with that.

It's less to do with the writing, though that certainly didn't help, but more with the animation to be honest. It just didn't hit as hard as other fights he's done like Popeye vs Saitama and Frieza vs Megatron.
Of course you could say that story boards were a part of that as well, but still, something about Omni Man vs Bardock felt so weird.
