I guess "evil Superman" is the core identity of the character for most. Latter would connect more akin to Shadow like characters which I dunno would be as fitting. Granted some characters do get multiple MUs based on different themes, but Homelander has no luck there.

Since I'm unsure of how to get a link for an image of my list, I'll just:

S tier: Asura vs Kratos, Kyle vs Simon, Mahito vs Shiggy
A tier: Bardock vs Nolan, Light vs Columbo, Ash vs Yugi, Bowser vs Eggman
B tier: Tom vs Coyote, Gru vs Megamind, Hulk vs Godzilla, Ruby vs Maka
C tier: Aang vs Traveler

Not to say the lower tiers are bad, I'm going by how much I'm invested in some of these fights
 
Kinda changing the subject here, but I'd like to do a runback of this thread's "custom season" done by @Loh67867 a while back, but I'd like to base it purely around Army Fights.

Because I've had Egil vs Carol (XC1 vs Symphogear) on the brain for a while now, and I think this would be the best way to communicate the idea (a similar question I asked a few of you in my Discord server).
 
I feel that I should remind people that Gru vs Megamind still isn't funded; It's on The Kickstarter page & needs $85,000 more to be funded, & I haven't seen much movement on the funding front.

I meeeeaaaan. Managing to stop TOBA for a minute technically would scale him to that level because, y'know, a percent of infinity is still infinity because math

As always, MATH is the worst thing to happen to vs debating
