Mihawk engages purely in terms of skill and proceeds to demonstrate the gaps in his technique
You mean when he countered his strongest move with a keychain knife then sliced all his swords with a single attack was pure skill?

He parried Oni-giri at the exact point where all three swords intersect and then countered Tora-gari by stabbing at the exact moment the technique leaves Zoro completely open. Both of these were clearly intended as a showcase of skill and Mihawk fully intended the second one to be the deciding blow

At this point I'm just disappointed that you guys are missing so much of subtext

this is probably the worst argument ive ever seen.
It's literally true if you've paid any attention to the actual fight

Mihawk literally intercepted Zoro's three swords at the exact point they intercept with the point of his tiny blade. It is the most obvious display of skill supremacy in One Piece

For the last few years, we've typically been getting 3 consecutive chapters before a break (4 rarely) when not accounting for regular breaks (like Golden Week or holiday related).

In b4 the anime catches up and starts making its own route. I wouldn't put it past Toei to do something ridiculous.

Next episode apparently has Luffy vs Big Mom, something anime exclusive. Anything's possible at this point

Shit like that is the reason I don't want Oda to come out and say the anime's extra scenes are valid.
I've always hated anime additions. Like making Luffy's Grizzly Magnum vs Caesar and Kaido's Thunder Bagua vs Luffy look like a struggle when they were both supposed to be instant KOs, spoiling Zoro Conqueror's Haki for no reason way earlier etc.

I feel like since 2020 the schedule has been more like 2 chapters followed by a break
There have been 1/2 chapter cases depending on the time of year, since Golden Week and other holidays make the manga take a week off regardless, so if Oda's taking one of his breaks, and a holiday hits immediately after he drops one chapter, rip... 1 chapter in 3 weeks 🤢 (It happened 2 times in a row earlier last year)

Shower thought, does anyone think the Bog Mom pirates (who have been doing nothing throughout this whole thing) are gonna fight off the ships the government is sending towards Wano?

That would be an interesting development at least.
