DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (2024–2025) (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

See that I feel would be the hardest sell to people, they'd need to go decently in depth about the weird cosmology of GoW to explain why all these universal feats are actually, y'know, universal while also being restricted to a single region of the planet.
There is literally a tweet from devs saying all myths take place at the same time and all that

I doubt any gow player is playing the game for deep lore and that really goes even for any games or outside just games, i didnt seen a single casual reactor being aware of vegeta ultra ego form or some that GER can counter MiH

They might should just low ball it to galaxy/SS realms then, count only stars created. Make a point that even tho Kratos ****** up Greece, Eqypt, its neighboring country, was mostly fine. Even in Norse realms Odin trapped the sun in Vanaheim, but clearly other Norse realms still had normal day night cycle.

I think the best thing they could do is bring up that one conference where they state that each region has their own version of the world (Or whatever the exact wording was). Still might be a tough pill to swallow since Kratos and other gods don't showcase cosmic level power, so they can't do what they did with Dragonborn vs Chosen Undead where even without whacky cosmic Lore the former still had better feats and scaling regardless which very much isn't the case with Kratos and Asura.

Guess time will tell if people are willing to let loretos beat featsura.

There's also the devs saying Kratos gets gaped by Spider-Man lmao.

In fairness to this point: dialogue between Mimir and Kratos in GOW 2018 suggests that the Norse realms are their own separate space-time continuums. Mimir makes mention of Helheim's flow of time moving much slower then Midgard's time while the Light of Alfheim in Alfheim moves much faster, but make of that of what you will.

Honestly him saying that is really funny anyway since the games he worked on has way better feats than Spider-Man, even if Atlas was only holding up the country of Greece that'd still put Kratos above Spider-Man.

Well unless David thinks the fire-lord and just herald scaling in general is legit lol.

reveal character can destroy the world and turn it into ash

next week reveal the world is flat and the size of Alabama

reveal that Alabama in this story is a higher dimensional construct with layers of infinity

reveal the character making the statement is an unreliable narrator

have another character reveal that the character isnt unreliable but just acts like he is

another character then reveals that the character that said the other character is just acting is himself an unreliable narrator.

If I ever did a story, Id make a joke chapter where I reveal everyone is actually Outerversal gods who we only see in weak light because of imagination or sth because we lack the real way to witness them.

Also blatantly make generic modern VS shit and imply its a joke, but never actually say its a joke so they have to be used.

Y'know if DB does go the LORE™ route with Kratos and have him beat Asura, what do you think would be the best way they could explain why Kratos scales that high to casual audiances without sounding insane to them?
Primordials in Greek punched all stars into existence, make a GokuBeerus punch reference too, add that Norse Ragnarok destroyed a realm that is at least 1/9th of Norse realms, absolutely make big point that for some reason in GoW all different myths happened together somehow, which makes GoW myths their own weird dimensions of sorts. Benefit of doubt and give speed to Asura and say his Planet+ size is an advantage.
Pretty much and ya have to do a very good job explaining GOW cosmology while and give good arguments on why it's not bullshit

Sonic's cosmology is 6D here. You need to accept that as long as you are here.
He just asked for our opinions, so maybe think before saying something
Well, it sucks that even in the place this was accepted people will ignore all the blogs and evidence because they don't like Sonic being that strong.
Not ignoring your points, I just disagree. You’ve misunderstood that(again), and the wrong assumptions and reasoning you've made about my stance are probably why I don’t buy your scaling

I didn't misunderstand anything. I just said I was frustrated because even here we have people dismiss all the research done for Sonic because they don't like it and don't really try to argue against it. That last comment wasn't for you. You can have your opinion and all but I just think it's weird that people keep dismissing Sonic.

Asura surprisingly doesn't really resist a whole lot, he's got soul resistance and the basic resistance to outer space conditions like anyone who's been in space with no protection gets but beyond that nothing, Kratos could petrify him and absorb his life-force and stop time (Honestly a missed opportunity from the devs to not have a cool scene of Asura breaking out of Chakravaritins time stop). Issue is convincing people Kratos would even land any of it in the first place. Getting him to cosmic levels is one thing, but like tipper said there's not really a good way to explain Kratos being quadrillions of times ftl without looking insane.
