DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (2024–2025) (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Golden Tree the cosmic feats? I do not get the reference
In the episode beast vs goliath they made a big deal deal out of former lifting a tree of gold they calculated how heavy it would be

In the explanation after the fight they say he didnt lift it entirely so wasnt much against his opponent to mean anything

It's a reference to this episode. During Beast's analysis: they mentioned how he was able to help up a tree sized piece of gold, but then they elaborated on why the feat wasn't as impressive as it seemed.

Similar case for Kratos, according to Dust's wishes.

Edit: ninja'd by @BlackDarkness679

I didn't scale Red to the Creation Trio. Obviously he does get that high as of USUM, much less Masters where he also becomes a hax monster, but that didn't come out till well after the Death Battle.

I wouldn't call it "same" logic, especially since this site scales Adventure to Composite Alphamon.
What this site does is whatever at this point, just ignore it.

Do you think M2 beats WarGreymon pre-DB? Because frankly without compositing he had and kinda still has nothing.

Huh, evenly tied. That's pretty cool not going to lie.

But damn: I didn't consider the possibility that the source of Asura's power growth, his rage, could be drained by Kratos in a few different ways. Of course it's dependent on if Kratos can tag Asura to begin with in order to drain him, but it's actually a pretty decent win con.
That wasn't the big thing, the blog argues that the absorption wouldn't be as potent since Asura's KF Mantra is powered by 7 trillion souls.

Fair enough, but it's still noteworthy nonetheless.

I got to say that the wait for Asura vs Kratos has been absolutely crazy, and tomorrow's going to make either side of the debate incredibly happy or extremely mad especially if Kratos ends up winning due to lore shenanigans

In this state, Asura dwarfs Gaea itself, becoming utterly enormous and gaining the four arms from his Vajra form in a bulkier variant, as well as a huge halo behind his back, which can act as a jet thruster. Asura’s power in this state is so vast that he can fire off shockwaves and Mantra blasts strong enough to blast through planets and stars. His Mantra in this form takes on a rainbow hue, due to possessing the mantra of all seven Deities.
Alright Im rooting for Asura 100% now, doesn't matter if he lost

Agreed, Kratos' arguments are a lot more convincing to me and I personally felt like the Asura side had to downplay Kratos' scaling by a significant amount to give Asura the stat trinity over Kratos.
Well tbf that 100 nonillion x uni calc was shitty. I still think Kratos is going to win, but Asura has a more viable path to victory if they scale even remotely similar in stats.

Went from a 70/30 Kratos to a 60/40 Kratos for me in terms of who I think who will the episode

I think calcs are just dumb because they clearly have arguments that scale to Uni+
Dumbing them down with calcs seems arbitrary to me.

Neat, a tie! But it's worth noting they didn't take into account Greek Kratos stuff.

I do think Kratos's side felt more even to both characters while Asura's was very lenient for him while scrutinizing Kratos. Though there were some out there calcs (Nonillion Ceto and others).

Also, Asura's side didn't make a counterargument to Kratos freezing Asura and completely breaking him something that Asura hasn't shown to regen from, and even if he could Kratos could just repeat it and then break every piece before Asura regens completely.

I feel like this blog is another Deku vs Asta moment. Where they make it closer than it appears to be only for the episode to show it pretty clear

Interesting how the conversation changes to be more even when almost the entirety of the Greek arsenal is disregarded. Seeing as how the proper DB is going to use it I wonder how much that'll affect the outcome.
This is not the reason it became 50/50. Asura's side downplayed the GoW cosmology to give Asura an advantage in stats.

The difference between Deku and Asura is that the former had brand new material coming out at the time of Deku vs Asta which have made the match up much closer nowadays.

Meanwhile, what has Asura gotten since Asura's Wrath came out over ten years ago?
Pretty much this. I’m not gonna lie. I still think Kratos is gonna win this, obviously it’s probably a lot closer than we’re making out to be, but he just has too many advantages over Asura back and just put him down way quicker.
