I think another factor is that GER has this incredible amount of hype as one of the most powerful things in fiction among fans, especially those who aren't into VS stuff. Mix that with the "GER is so powerful, I bet Joker has nothing that compares to it" mindset.Did people genuinely think Giorno was gonna win, I thought we were all joking about that

Kratos got the good ol' lore scaling; so I'd say it's about a genuine 50/50
Because the MU popularity peaked years ago, Persona isn't exactly a big name in vs outside the community and folks who care about it don't give a shit about vs stuff,GER hype died down over the years etc
