DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (2024–2025) (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Listening to the cast, I feel the pain of the dude trying to explain how Nobodies don't exist yet the Keyblade can damage them.
Though.... How do we explain that to a layperson?
In my opinion... the idea nobody's don't exist is effectivly organization 13 propaganda. We know what a nobody is it's the left over body component of the heart body and mind that beings in kingdom hearts are made of, If you actually read the reports found in game nobody's are only claimed to be none existent because the person writing it with a hard name to spell didn't believe a person could exist in 2 places at once. Literally the most bar bones techallity and of course the 13 went with it. It's a cult with the end goal of making everyone in it 1 guy, it's literally only there to tear the members of it down.

Oh shit, Mithra's going to be showing up in the fight? Hmm, I wonder if that's a omen for a potential Asura W or if I'm just overthinking her inclusion
I'm honestly thinking the opposite, especially with Asura saying the "DEATH TO ALL GODS" line. Having him say that and kill Kratos just because he is a god doesn't seem like a good bookend to the fight's story. I feel like it might end similarly to Tanjiro vs Johnathan.

"Oh shit I forgot to turn off the stove!" ass run right there.

It's possible. I could see Kratos killing Asura and, as a way of honoring his memory, takes in Mithra as his adopted daughter if they want to go down that road.

Woah woah woah woah woah

Asura's Wrath form is being used? I would say thats strange, since it would imply he isnt at his strongest state, as in he doesnt have the Karma Fortress' mantra reactor
Perhaps his soul got ripped out by one of the tools that dose such a thing. In theory if azure regenerates when his soul returns to his body, if it was trapped and the berserker form slayed he should stay down

No, the reason the Berserker/Wrathful form happens is because Asura's body couldn't handle his wrath because of his current reactor. This is a body problem, not a soul problem. The key plot point of having Asura even be able to stand up against Chakravartin was having to replace is reactor with the one that powered the Karma Fortress.

Well people have been claiming to me up and down throughout this entire waiting period that whenever his soul is forced from his body and he's still alive he enters berserk. They basically claim that his Mantra overwhelming only shutted his soul out to the afterlife and it was the fact his body didn't have a soul that caused berserk and said that was his resistance and answer to soul manipulation. If that isn't the case then he literally has no recourse for Kratos tearing out his soul.

Okay let me explain this as simple as it can be

Asura's power relies on wrath, but normally his body can't handle of it, and he starts cooking himself. This is shown twice, when he sees the village and that girl get annihilated by Olga's army, and when he tries to attack Chakravartin for trying to take his daughter. Its verbatim said by Yasha that this transformation happens because his body can't support this much wrath with his current reactor.

Then, when the Karma Fortress crashes and breaks apart, Yasha takes its reactor and replaces Asura's current one with it. This is so that his Wrath can circulate properly, and doesn't destroy his body. This in turn, makes it impossible for Asura to enter this state at all, instead allowing him to get as powerful as he wants. Whoever told you all that, was wrong, but it's clear that DB is still setting up resistances to soul stuff going by the preview.
