I hope Asura vs Kratos is in 2025. My most anticipated fight.

I joke about it, but I really don't care who wins as long as the fight is gas. Both of them are great characters, Asura is just my favorite between the two.

What are we considering to be the 'government' of Dragon Ball's wider universe (Universe 7, I mean)? The Galactic Patrol? The Frieza Force itself? I guess Frieza did pay Cheelai and Lemo in Pol (currency in Universe 7 for everywhere outside of Earth), so there must be some kind of governmental body in charge of that.

This is also why I can't take the "Death Battle always uses the highest ends" defense for their atrocious Omni-Man scaling serious. If they were consistent with this highballing method and gave Bardock the same treatment they gave Omni-Man, Bardock would've still won.

I agree with the sentiment, but I feel like Goku vs Superman 3 is a bad example because I can't say I've met a single person who doesn't like that episode. There's 100% people out there who do hate it, there always is, but they're such a small minority that it's practically irrelevant. Even I, the biggest Goku fanboy there is (though more so in terms of his character than his power), can't hate on it.

Even Goku's death in that fight is the most respectful one they could have possibly given him, it's practically off screen.

Yeah the fight itself is absolutely incredible.

It also helps that GVS3 actually gave competent reasoning for the outcome. The first one had the most disgusting downplay for Goku ever (such as unironically claiming he can't scale to people he beat like Frieza). The second one just pulled a NLF and said Superman wins cause that's the point of his character. The third one presented definitive Superman feats, and even though I personally think those were kinda outliers for Superman, they also used the highest end shit for Goku so I can't say they weren't fair at least.

If anything the fact that they were able to (finally) do Goku vs Superman well makes their awful handling of Bardock vs Omni-Man that much more painful to watch. They have no excuse now.

Yeah like if you're a Dragon Ball fan and you still come out of that episode thinking, "Death Battles hates Goku and/or Dragon Ball", then you're just beyond help. I haven't seen it in awhile, but didn't they say in the episode that Goku still does beat a lot of different versions of Superman, even if he can't beat the main man, himself? If that's not respect (bordering on glazing), then I don't know what is.
