I have an issue with how lightning and electricity is handled. You see, they kinda share the same requirements despite being heavily different.
Lightning feats request that you prove it is lightning by showing that is has electric properties according to this page...
I am currently working on big revision for Genshin Impact's speed and the speed of electro is pretty important to discuss for that sucne a bunch of characters have been shown or stated to be able to dodge electro attacks.
So looking at the criteria for real lightning, electro seems to fulfil...
Would this feat here scale to durability? I'm aware that lightning feats have some problems in regarding scaling to durability. It's also clearly not "electricity resistance" since that would break the point of the later statemenet about him not having lightning powers anymore.
Just thought of this.
According to the Lightning Feats page, the energy in a lightning bolt is equivalent to 1.6 billion joules. People like The Undertaker are 9-A via their ability to summon lightning.
However, when I convert 1.6 billion joules to tons of tnt, I get roughly 0.38 tons of tnt...
Would Thor tanking his lightning in point-blank range qualify for resisting the temperature as well? His lightning is also shown to instantly burn Malekith's face, if that helps
I've seen replies in some threads that say Force Lightning isn't real lightning but electricity, so is Force Lightning still treated as real lightning on this wiki, or is it just electricity? I tried to find a concrete answer, but a lot of the threads were a bit messy for me to read. How would...

This calc has been rejected for a LONG time, yet is still on every single profile as justification for Massively Hypersonic reactions and combat speed for the verse. This is a clear oversight from the wiki...
In the following feat, Johnny, Dukey, and their subatomic versions of themselves survive a lightning strike.
Now of course, you might see this as your average lightning bolt, but I got some evidence here that might prove otherwise.
The lightning strike burnt the ground, and the crew were...
The formula is telling me to give distance in m/s, but m/s is a measurement of velocity, not distance. Am I meant to convert it somehow or is this a typo? Sorry if this is kind of obvious and many thanks for the assistance.
Torami Houjou from the Asuka 120% series creates lightning for one of her supers, and whether or not it's cloud-to-ground remains a mystery, so that best thing to do for now is make a calc for it if it's possible. Could anyone help me out?
Okay, an issue came up in the KH revision thread about several found lightning feats not being cloud to ground lightning, however, it seems that to remain consistent with Electro pre-AP downgrade, just having an AP above tier 8 would make it be "strong enought" to qualify for MHS+, although this...
Hey there. So, it is generally believed that lightning contains 1 to 5 billion joules of energy (VBW uses a figure of 1.6 gigajoules). If that's the case, why is it that the best AP feat lightning can do is 9-B, in that case, breaking trees?:
I mean it could be 9-A if the tree was big enough...
I never thought I would ever make a thread like this, but after looking over lightning feats on a bunch of our profiles I noticed a ton of versus scale to lightning when they shouldn’t. I’ll start with Dark Souls because it is a game I know very well and it has the most obvious problem.
Pretty...
Bibleman can deflect lightning, which lightning is at least 1.6 billion Joules or a voltage of at least 100 million Volts, right?
So he should be upgraded to 8-C
Aight, this is going to sound a little stupid, but Zenitsu should be 8-C...because he's blonde. No, really.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDPZiHwPGQU
If not 8-C, then in that case the tree wasn't that far from the ground, so you could at least give him a + or something. Yeah, but that's it.
If a characters is capable to deflect or destroy a lightning bolt, does the character had to generate an AP comparable to a lightning bolt aka 1.6 gigatons of Joules?
Example here, Goemon from Lupin III is able to slice a lightning bolt multiple times over to the point to shatter it, now while...
It has come to my attention that the attack potency of natural lightning is 1.6 billion joules, which isn't 8-C+. The issue now is that some of our profiles on the wiki scale to the old calculation, which was 5 billion joules.
I suggest we change any and all profiles that have used the old...
This is something I've been juggling with for a little while, out of a desire to make more pages for The Witcher.
The problem I'm facing comes from this scene. After juggling with it for a while, I've decided it would be best to ask and get some opinions on it.
Now, let me explain what I mean...
I was seeing some calculations of some Naruto characters and I found one from Kakashi intercepting Raiton: Gian from Kakuzu, I realized that they had accepted that Jutsu was a real lightning, but they didn't use the speed of a real lightning from Narutoverse, and used the our universe, I wanted...
According to the page for lightning feats, if fictional lightning displays some traits of real life lightning it is considered MHS. So how many traits are required? If fictional lightning displays 3 traits is that enough? If so can lightning that displays the shape of real life lightning and two...
I was wondering, what would be the speed of lightning rising from the ground up, I guess it can't be Return stroke speed because it has to have a connected stream form point of origin to end where the electrons accelerate rapidly through a current.
http://stormhighway.com/tower.php
I'm planning on downgrading speed in the Dark Souls verse and I wanted to make sure if this is correct or not. Would this feat be considered real lightning?
https://youtu.be/A44uvRS_pWU?t=3798
I've been questioning it on whether or not it meets the requirements. It seems like a cloud of...
1) If an attack is stated to be a "beam of light" and be made out of photons, is that enough to justify it being deemed light speed?
2) On the Lightning Feats page, it says that the average lightning bolt contains approximately 1.6 billion joules of energy. 8-C.
If a character can create...
Say a Character A summons a bolt of lightning that is proven to be authentic lightning that is comparable to lightning bolts in the real world, which generate 1.6 gigajoules of energy, or 8-C. And Character B tanks that lightning. Does this mean Character B necessarily gets 8-C durability...
Hi.
In this blog below, I explained a bit about how the lightning creation method works. Of course, several CGM gave suggestions for changes and opinions, this thread serves to discuss some points that were in doubt

The...
In this page it says that the energy of a Lightning is 5 billion joules, i have some problems with this vallue. For one, the reference for that wikipedia page in specific doesn't say how they get that vallue, they just say that the power of a Lightning is 5 billion joules and, while i think that...
How can I know which lightning flash comes back, which has 1/3 the speed of light?
Can we spot this kind of lightning in a play? Does he have differences between them? Or needs to be clearly said?
Pictures are always nice and good for thumbnails and popularity and stuff...
So I thought we should add pictures to the calculation pages. Following pages have no thumbnail pictures:
Absolute Zero Feats in Fictio
Calc Stacking
Calculation Guide
Calculations Introduction and References...
When do we count a lightning in fiction as real? I mean we have the page which explains but it doesn't explain much when it comes to requirements.
I'm asking this since there's no lightning speed in Naruto's Raiton jutsus (or at least in the majority of them) and I wonder how many requirements...
While this discussion was done in the past, i think that it was never properly debated or even ended with a definite debunk or confirm.
So i have decided to rewatch the Skypiea Arc and i have concluded that there where indeed plenty of lightning dodging feats during the arc, too many for be...
Now this thread is just to see if it can be considered as real light. I'm not sure if it's legit or not but there are some indications that it's real light.
The Auswählen is called and stated to be light
The statement comes from one of the most knowledgeable characters in the series and...
These revisions are pretty important, so I'd like your thoughts on the following.
Lightning:
Can be summoned from clouds:
"I didn't know what spell the teacher had been casting. Among the drizzling dark clouds that had been there since earlier, bluish-white lightning flashed.
A powerful...
Hello,
I know that at least for this wiki, the value used is 4.4*10^5m/s and the range is 1.0-14×105 m/s based on this website
But when I was looking at other places, I've seen something like 150 km/s as average .
AI also looked at other places and when put in mph, I've seen something like...
Hello.
This is a continuation of the following thread, in which the staff (particularly the calc group members) are supposed to discuss how to practically apply any potential sensible and workable improvements to our lightning standards, preferably in collaboration with DontTalkDT...
This has been talked about casually, but never really discussed in detail. Anyway, it's long overdue, so let's get it over with.
Introductio
Azathoth has been discussing our current lightning standards for a while, and I have recently joined him, since I have noted several rules that could be...
Spoiler warning for the novel Dark Disciple.
Putting this on the Questions and Answers board instead of Content Revision.
Anyway… I was wondering if the stuff below is evidence enough to consider Force Lightning natural.
Darth Senate's (Palpatine) Force Lightning conducted throughout a ship...
Alright so in Darkanine calculation, he calculated Storms lightning, and Ant said that the 5 second timeframe is good enough. The 5 second timeframe gives a result of Mach 7902.671 (There are other Mhs+ feats from other characters in Marvel characters)
Now the problem is this would scale to all...
While digging through lightning speeds (I got on a universe size and speed comparison kick) I realized that lightning has something known as the Return Stroke. This phase of lightning moves at around 1x10^8 m/s, nearly three full orders of magnitude higher than our current average lightning...
Hello.
Based on the discussion in this thread, DontTalk has suggested that we should rewrite the "Scientific basis"-section of the Lightning Dodging Feats page in the following manner:
Scientific basis
The speed of lightning can vary mostly in the range of 1.0-14×105 m/s. For the purpose of...
