Is tanking lightning bolts a reliable feat?

Say a Character A summons a bolt of lightning that is proven to be authentic lightning that is comparable to lightning bolts in the real world, which generate 1.6 gigajoules of energy, or 8-C. And Character B tanks that lightning. Does this mean Character B necessarily gets 8-C durability? Because real life people can survive lightning strikes, and they aren't 8-C.

Personally I would say no, in real life most people die due to a respiratory arrest. It also cause a loop, like lighting dissipate 1.6 billion joules, but when crashing against someone it also dissipate the same, but in order to do that the lighting would need to yield more than that value. Plus, summoning lighting its always a factible option, in whose case it do not take power to do so.
