"I... I can walk fine...!" Palaria responded

Terevion pulled out an orb and tapped it

"Terevion, I assume something's come up?" Dumbledore telepathically asked

"Palaria is coughing up blood." Terevion responded

"Likely due to the shard, or at this point, probably shards, it should be unknown if she recovers fully or not, just make sure that nobody pulls a shard out of her body assuming plural, as it will instantly kill her." Dumbledore responded, closing the connection as Terevion waited for Mark and co.

"I refuse to be a dead weight...!" Palaria said clearly as she immediately began to try and break Mark's grip on her, Claria looking surprised at the mage's adamancy on this

"I think I've cooled down enough to do this now...." Kaminos said, extending his hand, "I'm Kaminos. Nice to meet ya', Claria!"

"I'm Para!" Para said, "What has a coat but doesn't get cold, comes before the night, and has an arm behind it?"

"She likes to do riddles..." Epithymia said, "Epithymia Ophthalmos. I haven't been with these guys much longer than you have."

"Well, just contacted Dumbledore, and he reports that not only are the shards the likely cause of what's going down with you, Palaria, but also that removing any of them would instantly kill you." Terevion reported, not sugar coating a thing, Palaria looking quite scared as he spoke, and beginning to tremble a bit

"G-good to meet you..." Claria said, focused on this

(Because I actually thought I came up with a good riddle and am kind of disappointed that it's likely no one's gonna take a shot at answering it lol)
(I mean, there's Cain who's like Average intelligence and extremely focused on Palaria right now, and the ladder is the same for Mark, you should probably spring it on them later lol)

(yeah)

"I guess we can ask Sigmar as a favor to see if he finds a way that allows Palaria not to die if she loses the shards" Mark said, he really wasn't sure but he would have to try everything at his disposal

"P-please... do that..." Palaria murmured, her tone clearly saying she was terrified if the fact she was trembling didn't give it away, Claria shifting her gaze to the ground as Sigmar was named, Terevion nodding, his revolver ready in one hand, taking the front guard

Alex would contact his brother telepathically, asking him what happened when She noticed that she wasn't being chased or something, Mark explained to her and Alex just went back.

"That's bad, but calm down Palaria, Mark would do the impossible for you" said Alex who understood her situation and answered politely.

Goliath sighed, slowing down until he was behind Palaria, acting akin to a rear guard as they traveled.

“…we’ll…get this…figured out…” Goliath muttered. His expression was unchanged, and his voice was monotone. Yet he glanced down at Palaria, staring at her intently.

“Don’t…worry.”

Cain nodded along with the group, flashing Palaria a friendly smile. "We're all here for you, Palaria! We'll figure this out together, alright?" She said reassuringly, still walking incredibly close to Mark and Palaria.

"How can I calm down...! I could die from someone just targeting one of the shards with telekinesis and pulling...!" Palaria said, but was taking deep breaths to try and calm herself down anyway

"I can counter that with my own, Palaria. I don't plan to leave you're side anytime soon." Cain said, "I'll be here, and so will Mark, I'm assuming, to protect you until we figure this out. 24/7, 365."

"How can I calm down...! I could die from someone just targeting one of the shards with telekinesis and pulling...!" Palaria said, but was taking deep breaths to try and calm herself down anyway
"Well, we could leave you in a safe place and away from the influence of others" Alex thought not sure if it could actually work or not.

"Most likely she'll get bored if we do that" Mark told his sister, besides he wasn't sure if she would accept

"You know how fast you'd have to be for that to work, Cain...? I have telekinesis of my own, if I thought it'd word I'd be on it... my forcefields can't be put in my body either..." Palaria murmured, shakily breathing out

"Cain... how much stamina do you have...?" Palaria asked

"I can probably fight and get injured for a few months without remotely slowing down a bit after." Cain explained, "And yes, I know me being able to protect you like that is a long shot, but it's a shot I'm willing to take for you."

"I... I don't have real options..." Palaria murmured, putting her face in her hands before speaking again

"Gods damnit... I'll take the risks." Palaria murmured quietly

Cain would sigh, "In the end, no matter what we say, the decision lies with you, Palaria, as you're the one in the real danger here. I'll protect you to the best of my ability but... I won't stop you from doing anything."

"Don't worry Palaria, you have to be strong, besides currently there is no one who wants the fragments apart from Malak and it seems that he wants us to do the job and when we finish we will most likely have a way to free you" Mark says, while he caresses her legs to calm her down

"I... I doubt it, honestly. The shards contain a soul each, from what I'm feeling, and connect them to my mind, so if it were to be removed I'm pretty sure at least my mind and soul would either go with it or... be destroyed..." Palaria murmured, clearly utterly terrified at the thought

Cain was unflinching as she heard this, but she was obviously extremely worried about Palaria as her third eye went bloodshot, clearly on extremely high alert for anything that was an even remote threat to her friend.

"It'll be fine, Palaria..." Cain tried to reassure Palaria, but every cell in her body knew that wasn't a promise she could make.

"For someone who can live without it, maybe, for someone who actually needs one to survive, like me, yes, it is important!" Palaria snapped out in extreme stress
