"Is everything a giant monster on this damn island?"

Nicholas responds before launching away from the area of the worm's attack, he then launched himself at the torso of the worm, making contact with it with his legs, attempting to send a shockwave throughout its flesh that would destroy its internal organs.

Taking a deep breath, I exhale at the ground to use my sand breath as a propellant to fly above the Skullcrawler and attack from the sky where Nick would be shielded by the body.

Nicholas' kick struck the Meatcrawler's leg dead-on, making the worm keel over with a gurgling cry as its leg was torn nearly in two. Donte's sand breath ripped into the monster's back from above, ripping open its reddish brown hide as Igneus' trident punctured its side.

Squirming as the trident cauterized its flesh, the Meatcrawler forced itself back up with another snarl, its leg and back rapidly healing up as it rose. The worm quickly spun around, smacking away Nicholas with its tail, before springing up at Donte and biting down upon him, its pointed teeth stabbing into his abdomen.

"Damn it, we need to help him."

Nicholas launched at the body of the worm once more, this time aiming his legs at the side of its head and trying to launch a shockwave upon contact to shatter its teeth and skull.

Panicking at being bitten by another dirt monster, I grab at its jaws and try to pry them open, unleashing a pillar of sand into the side of its face to speed up the process.

Nicholas' feet planted themselves firmly against the Meatcrawler's head, craving its skull inwards as the worm was forcefully torn away from Donte, its teeth ripping open the skin on his chest. The sand ripping across the monster's face and the spears plunging into its meaty body was just pouring salt in the wound.

Crashing onto the ground, the Meatcrawler twitched lightly, smoke rising from the cauterized wounds made by Igneus' spears. Quickly, however, the worm's head began repairing itself, its skull beginning to return to its original shape as the worm began rising back to its feet. Hissing, the Meatcrawler's tail wrapped around Igneus, squeezing her tightly as the worm began rushing towards Nicholas and Donte.

"Damn it, the thing can regenerate wounds. Well, how about this then."

Nicholas launches himself above the path of the beast's approach, he launches towards the torso of the creature once more, striking it as before, however, the shockwave is aimed differently now, instead of aiming it to spread out across the body, Nicholas aims it in a line throughout the body, attempting to split the beast in half.

Leaping to the side to the best of my ability, I breath at the depressed monster once more to hopefully distract it from whatever Nicholas' plan is or Igneus hacking away.

**** its getting hard to move.

Igneus' trident successfully pierced through the Meatcrawler's tail, severing the worm's limb in two as the cut flesh was burned black. Donte's sand breath cut along the Meatcrawler's side, but it was Nicholas' impact that dealt the most damage. The survivor's kick struck the worm's side dead on, splitting the monster in two and spewing its blood and inner organs across the ground. Both halves fell to the ground, blood spurting outwards like a fountain from both cut parts.

And yet, the Meatcrawler refused to stay down, the upper half letting out a gurgling cry as it heaved itself up and rushed at the survivors again, the lower half squirming and flopping as both halves began regenerating.

"I think it's time for us to go. Come on!"

Nicholas says as he uses the beast being wounded as a chance, he grabs some of the remaining fish and launches himself away as far as he can, then begins running.

Igneus' magma projectiles and Donte's sand breath prove more than sufficient in slowing down the Meatcrawler, mostly Igneus' polearms though. The magma weapons pierced into the worm's body, turning the beast into a living pincushion as polearms stabbed into its face, body, and legs. Smoke rising from the cooked meat, the likes of which smelled like high quality chicken nuggets, the worm fell over, letting out a gurgling cry as it kept on struggling.

The survivors were able to flee the worm, running into the forest as they ended up leaving the clearing behind. Moving between the trees and dodging rocks and other obstacles, the group soon exited the wall of trees, finding themselves by the edge of the forest. Before them, the ground would slope downwards slightly as it led to a decently sized river, the freshwater rushing at a moderate pace. On the opposite end, there wasn't so much dense foliage, and a small mountain stood above the flora.

"In before there is a spinosaurus that will attack us. This next shelter gonna be glass or should we just make it from cooled magma this time? We have the water for it this time."

"If we can cool it fast enough, that would be a great idea. Cooled Magma is probably going to be a lot harder to break."

"I wonder if there is a volcano or some other way to get lime around here. Be easier to build a shelter with bricks and mortar instead of a large piece of basalt or whatever we end up with."

Walking over to a tree, I use my sand breath to tear off some branches before using it to shave off the ends into sharp points for stakes.

"Anyone up for making traps for the shelter?"

"Since you guys don't need me for the shelter this time, I'll just get started on the set up."

With that I start turning trees into stakes while leaving vines, thinner branches and boughs aside for binding and camoflage.

Here's to hoping we can get this done quickly. We are screwed if the shelter isn't up before nightfall.

"Alright then, I'm assuming you can touch that magma of yours without melting, so I guess start dipping those in the water and I'll try and form them into something cohesive."

As Igneus proceeded to start dipping her magma polearms into the water, her actions disturbed some of the local fauna of the river. Several fish hurried away into deeper waters, and a few frogs, bright green on top and blue underneath, hopped off the floating foliage near the river's edge, slipping into the water.

Halting my production of stakes, I begin tying some of them longer ones together into chevaux de frise to ward off would be predators.

These won't stop monsters like that turtle though. I doubt the larger logs would either unless I layered a lot of them close together.

Looking at the larger trees I had put aside, I get back to working on the smaller defenses.

"Should probably leave one end flat for Nicholas to hammer them into the ground for the palisade."

@Overlord

Blake would slowly awake, the survivor laying atop a beach as the ocean's waves splashed at their feet. They were surrounded by a thick fog that clung to the sand beneath them, and a large chunk of driftwood lay several feet to their left. The air was thick with the smell of saltwater and decaying beached animals. Ahead of Blake was the faint outline of a series of trees.

I slowly open my eyes, waking up to the feeling the smoth sand underneat me, the ocean waves tickling at my feet ... and the smell of rotting capcasses.

I sign, looking at the foggy sky and recalling back to the memories of the ship being attacked.

"Goddamit Cthulhu."

I mutter.

After a few minutes of staring at nothing, i decide to get up and shake the sand off my clothes, then i look around, to see if there's any traces of other survivors.

@Overlord

Several feet to their right, Blake could see the trail of footprints left in the sand by the other survivors. The trail led across the beach towards the distant trees.

It seems i wasn't the only one that survived the shipwreack, good, at least i won't need to use a coconut for company.

I follow the footprints

@Overlord

Blake would eventually reach the beginnings of the forest, with the tracks disappearing into the brush.

@Everyone else

The construction of the house and defenses was going along without much in the way of trouble. A few animals would come by and investigate what the survivors were doing, mostly birds and other flying animals.
