Nicholas' actions proved more than startling for the pterosaurs; the flying reptiles promptly flew in different directions when Nicholas drew close to them, squaking in shock. Two of them dropped their catch of fish, causing the fish to fall into the forest below.

Igneus would find the fish scattered about across the forest floor besides a rather small creek. Several of the 15 inch minnow-like fish were helplessly flopping about, while others simply lay still. A few of the fish were laying atop a large mound of dirt several meters away from the creek, the mound reaching almost 4 feet into the air.

Igneus was able to pick up the fish laying around by the creek with no issue; there was no distinct fishy smell coming from the animals, hinting at how fresh they were.

Upon getting too close to the dirt mound, however, Igneus found herself being grabbed by the throat by a dark purple tentacle that burst from the mound, the muscular limb wrapping itself tightly around her neck as it rapidly began dragging her forward.

"I knew it." Nicholas jumps up and stomps down, launching a shockwave to the ground underneath Igneus and the mound.

Before Igneus could manage to swing her scythe, a second tentacle fired from the mound, coiling around Igneus's arms and forcing her to drop her scythe.

The mound suddenly exploded outwards as the hidden assailant jumped upwards, dodging Nicholas' shockwave as it leaped onto a nearby tree.

The creature resembled a large purple octopus, weighing 600 pounds and sporting limbs reaching 35 feet. However, while four of its arms resembled standard octopus arms, the remaining four resembled large muscular, almost ape-like limbs, each tipped with grasping hands and finger-like digits.

The octopus glared at Nicholas, shooting a stream of ink at the survivor to blind him, before it leaped off with Igneus, swinging from tree to tree as it followed the creek.

Nicholas launched himself up to avoid the stream of ink, he then began launching after the creature, firing off shockwaves at it whenever he got the chance.

As Nicholas and the octopus continued traveling swiftly amongst the trees, one of the survivor's shockwaves managed to nail the cephalopod in midair. The assailant was thus knocked out of the air, tumbling to the forest floor below. However, the octopus had been struck just before Igneus could swing at it, causing her to be thrown around alongside the cephalopod and thus drop her weapon once more.

Recovering quickly from the attack, the octopus grabbed onto a nearby tree with one of its ape-like arms just before it could hit the ground, before it quickly resumed its leaping through the trees, this time firing globs of ink at Nicholas.

Igneus summons a magma spear, she uses it to get up. "Man, I knew I shouldve stayed away from the mound..." She yeets the spear at the octopus's head,

Hearing sounds of combat in the forest, I gulp heavily before moving in the direction of the source.

How many monster fights are we going to get into today?

Nicholas launched himself further up to go above the globs of ink, he then fired off another shockwave at the octopus. "Keep your distance from that thing."

Both Igneus' and Nicholas' projectiles would fail to strike the octopus, merely striking the trees that the cephalopod had already jumped from. The mollusk continued on leaping through the treetops, its color rapidly changing to help it blend in with the surrounding foliage.

By this point, the group had reached the edge of a small cliff that surrounded most of the outer rim of a great lake. The surface of the water was coated by a translucent blanket of fog, making it difficult to make much detail of what exactly was down there. On the opposite end of the lake, the cliff receded into the earth, creating an opening for animals to enter to drink.

The octopus launched itself from a tree, plummetting down into the lake below, a faint splash being heard seconds later.

Igneus' neck and arms were riddled with sucker marks, but outside of that, no damage had been inflicted on her.

"Alright, let's go back to the spot where this thing attacked then. Follow me." Nicholas says as he begins propelling himself towards the location with his shockwaves.

The fish lay scattered about on the dirt where Igneus had dropped them. A few birds had come down to start pecking at some of the fish, the avians resembling crows with toothed jaws in place of beaks and clawed wings. A tiny green turtle had also grabbed a nearby fish by the head, before quickly slipping back into the creek. The birds flew away as the survivors returned, leaving the fish behind.

Pushing through the foliage, I spot a bunch of fish on the ground and, more importantly, Igneus and Nicholas.

"Guys! What was up with all the noise? Are you okay? Were you attac-"

Finally taking note of their (re: Igneus) condition, only one could be said.

"...... whats up with the hickeys?"

"That should be more than enough for today, let's head back." Nicholas said as he began launching back towards the glass house, landing some distance away when he arrived so as to not damage it.

I follow after the other two, snapping off low branches and picking up sticks from the forest floor in preparation of the fire we will need.

The trip back to the glass house was a safe one, albeit some of the sounds of the local wildlife were beginning to return to seeming closer now, some of the fauna becoming used to Nicholas' shockwaves.

While some of the fallen sticks Donte had chosen came from standard maple trees, the majority of the branches he had chosen were of an odd coloration; namely, the bark was a dark purple, with small light blue spots scattered randomly about. Some of these branches still carried leaves, the likes of which were a dark blue in color and large enough to fill one's hand.

"Thats some weird looking wood, we should probably get away from it so I can through my spear at it to light it on fire." Igneus waits for everyone to get away from the wood.
