God to Villain - Steel Hell (RP Thread)

fc6oDbj.jpg

Rain poured to the grounds of Dusk City, the alleyways painted in liquid. Rats crawled through the muck of the desolate region, all manner of scum crawling into the streets of Dusk City to do their business.

And in the deepest, darkest parts of the city...

...

"Engen..."

A man walked into a dark, cold room, a flickering light keeping the room alight. It was empty, devoid of any obvious furniture or anything to brighten the mood. It was akin to a... solitary confinement chamber, cut off from the outside world and any other form of contact.

"I agreed to bring them here because I thought I'd get something out of this. Now, I know you'd never lie to me, but..."

"Quiet, Mujin. They'll come."

With him, stood another. He hid in the darkness, outside of sight, but he domineered over the air... His voice made the space around him tremble, and caused the man that stood before him to shudder, the power seeping into his veins. The man, seemingly named Mujin, shook his head, putting his hands in his pockets, a sly grin plastered across the dull man's face. He breathed out.

The two men, clouded in mystery, awaited their partners.

"You sure they'll come, Engen...?"

"They'll come."

"You said that already, but..."

"I told you to wait, Mujin... No villain worth a damn would pass up a job this profitable. Just have faith."

"Faith in what...?"

"Faith in villainy."

"Having faith in a villain...? Great idea..."

And they continued to wait.

"Mind giving me a briefing on them...?"

"You doubt to much, Mujin..."

"I at least deserve a briefing..."

"....."

"Come on, Engen. A briefing. I need info on who I'm working with."

"...."

"...Please?"

"...Fine."

"Great!"

"...."

"...Mind starting?"

"...Alarak Tal'tharim. A fighter. Previously a rich kid, but kicked out of her household after murdering a servant at the age of 5. Currently a mercenary. Her Soul Edge is called Psionic. Its effects aren't publically known."

"Sounds hard to deal with. Next?"

"..."

"...Next??"

"Michael. I don't know her past. Her Soul Edge is unknown."

"Wish you had more info, but, what can you do...? Next."

"Cato Hyatt. His past is irrelevant. His Soul Edge is unknown."

"....Amazing briefings."

"You wanted information."

"This isn't information..."

"You want it or not?"

"...Fine. Next."

"Zack Johns. Known to the public as the "Painter Master". A first-rate villain, with a versatile Soul Edge that allows him to distort reality."

"Reality Distortion...? Heh. Intriguing."

"It's powerful. It's why I hired him. But it's not all-powerful."

"Obviously. Next?"

"Kiara Merlo. An unknown past, with a pathetically weak Soul Edge. But she has potential. She can grow, if put to work."

"You've always had an eye for potential, haven't you, Engen...? Heh... Next?"

"Antony Collins. Another first-rate Villain. His powers are devastating, uncontrollable, but strong when tempered. He'll be useful for some muscle."

"Is that so...? I'll keep an eye on him, then. Next?"

"Mimic. Once again, a first-rate Villain. Digging up info on him his hard, though. He's never gone public with his skills, and the Hero Association has no file on him."

"He's discreet, then?"

"Very. I didn't have time to do anymore digging."

"It'll be interesting to meet him, then... Next?"

"Finally, a woman known as Tooha. Not a lot of info on her to begin with."

"Haaaa... Well, it's a fine enough briefing. I know what to expect... somewhat, then. I guess we just need to wait, then..."

Mujin crossed his arms, staring at the door as his teeth collided with his lower lip, a shudder running through his body.

"Don't get to excited, Mujin..."

"Oh, I won't... I just... wonder. Wonder who'd join us in this Hell..."

And as such, they waited for the new arrivals...

"Well, let's put aside the potential child abuse for now!..." Mujin said, insinuating that it would indeed be addressed later.

"Let's take a look around and see if we can get some info out of anybody. I say split up! It's more challenging that way."

Michael rolled her eyes, and glanced at Mimic "if we really are doing this, I'm staying with you." She muttered to the man

Alarak simply scoffed

"Split into groups?" Cato muttered, putting his hands onto his pockets.

"Or just go off on your own, honestly, don't care much so as long as we cover as much ground as possible." Mujin said with a shrug, scratching his head.

It certainly didn't help Kiara's anxiety that he said this. She slowly moved further from his direction. "I want to split up too..." Kiara said, figuring that it would be best for her safety if she wasn't around the others.

"I don't think it's good for you to be on your own alone" Zack told her, referring to how dangerous this area is.

"No, I'll go with her, after all, the smaller the target, the more challengers there'll be!" Alarak said, a smile creeping across her face

"In that case, the little princess can go on her own." Mujin said with the tiniest of shrugs, "Meanwhile, I'll do some exploring myself!"

He said, before walking off on his own.

Cato simply ignores Mujin's look and simply walked off with his phone as he continued playing.
"So long as they can interest me, I guess I could be willing to follow through... As of now, they sure aren't making me bored...." he thought.

Michael breathed out and melded with the cursed air, seemingly disappearing, in reality she had activated her Soul Edge and stayed away, watching Mimic specifically to fulfill her promise to him

Alarak rolled her eyes and moved to look for information

Mimic rolled his eyes, rubbing a hand underneath the bags that decorated his gaze.

"If i'm lucky, he'll get himself killed..." Mimic mumbled. He glanced around at the ramshackle buildings for a moment, before beginning to walk down the road, his eyes scanning the surrounding area. Unlike some of the others, information gathering was his specialty, keeping a keen ear out for any conversation occurring that could yield something useful. He was well-practiced in the art of listening to people while keeping a low profile, so the chances of someone catching him in the act, even without his soul edge, were quite low.

The group's search for information relevant to their task proved an arduous one... The flow of certain info throughout the streets was plentiful: Talk of major incidents throughout the area, certain business transactions, movement of local gangs and groups, but nothing related to the inner workings of the hero clan.

But there was always a name that would come to ear to anybody as they searched for info... A woman named "Sasha". Who she was had never been specifically mentioned, but, it was name that came up in any conversation.

“...Sasha...” Mimic repeated the name in his mind, his hands buried in his pockets as he leaned against a crumbling wall. Pressing himself onto objects while on a mission had become a habit for him, the action making it easier to transition to using his soul edge, if necessary.

“...Sasha....” It sounded like a female name. Though the likelihood of it being some kind of alias was also something to consider.

Mimic breathed out, fidgeting slightly as he listened to the passing crowd, his head purposely kept low.

“...Probably some local gang boss. No need to get involved with a chick like her...or him...or...whoever the hell they are...” He thought. He made a mental note to avoid anyone who looked suspiciously strong or important.

Cato simply resumed his search as he keeps hearing this "Sasha" person.

Checkmate after checkmate, high score after another, he keeps playing his game to alleviate the inevitable boredom.

Information gathering is indeed one of his forte, no doubt. But given his laziness, one could say that he may have a bad reputation about it.

Zack found this woman interesting, maybe it's something so related to the heroes that if someone manages to meet this person, they could find a weak point to make a big change

"Sa..sha?" Antony thought as he walked down the cracked streets, halfheartedly trying to eavesdrop on various conversations.

"Somebody important, but nothing important to me," he sighed, continuing to walk down the streets for anything somewhat useful.

Kiara listened closer to whoever would talk about her trying to figure out the context. Hero? Mob boss? Informant? Businesswoman? She best find out.

After around an hour or two had passed, not much more info could simply be gained from just eavesdropping. Clearly, anything truly important was being purposely kept off the streets, and nothing much had been said about this 'Sasha' other than the fact she ran a large gang in the area and controlled a good part of Tokita with an iron fist... As in, she controlled the information that came in and out.

A strand of smoke went in front of Mimic "We should meet where we started, it seems we aren't getting more info without sticking ourselves in enemy lines, unless that's where you want to be?" Michael whispered to Mimic

"Purposely hiding the information to prevent any form of prying? Huh, they sure don't give a lot of hints aside from the usual... Given that there's a high likelihood that they too are also eavesdropping to the nearby streets. They for sure know the intention of our group...." Cato thought, as he remained playing the snake game with his phone, looking at the residents as he calmly blends in with them.

As Cato was blending into the crowd, he'd be able to see a familiar face wave at him, calling him out from the dense crowd and walking up to him with a wide smile on his face.

"Cato, my good man! It has been far to long! One, maybe two hours? So, yes, far to long." Mujin walked up to Cato without any discretion, a bright smile on his face and his hands shoved into his pockets.

Mimic eyes narrowed, as he saw the smoke appear in front of him, his body visibly tensing until he realized who it was. He relaxed ever so slightly, taking a small breath.

“...Whoever this chick is, she's keeping her goons tight-lipped. Wouldn't expect a shithole like this to have such rigid information networks...” Mimic murmured. His voice was barely audible, his eyes carefully scanning the crowd around them to catch eavesdroppers. A single glance in their direction, a twitch of an ear, anything that would hint at his words being overheard.

“...Your right...we should get with the others, We aren't getting anything done without delving deeper into this place.” He added.

Cato was slightly surprised as Mujin went to him.

"Hello Mujin... You seem to be, uhhh, very enthusiastic.... Especially when around that Mimic person..." Cato greeted him with a small wave.

"This is... very strange.... Quite unpredictable to be honest..." he thought.

"Well, I'm not here to infect you with my enthusiasm. I'm actually here for two reasons... One, because I figured it'd be beneficial to begin meeting up with at least someone from our group. And two... Because I wanted to ask you a question. You, specifically." Mujin said.

"Okay...." he said slowly, raising an eyebrow but dropping it as he puts his phone on his pockets, turning it off.

"What's the question about me then?"
