Death Battle Season Six Discussion Thread (9) (Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Nah, they've talked that about on the cast. Seems like they decide fights around 7 or so episodes ahead, but beyond that they don't know. The verdicts are still slightly changeable in that timeframe though, like Roshi getting UI mentioned. Pretty sure there's another example of that happening. Hell, DK vs Knuckles had it's verdict changed 1 week from release.

Eh. "I am aware of this feat's existence" is a pretty far cry from "I think that this feat is consistent and usable". Ultra isn't stupid, and he's shot down similar non-canon feats in the past (the most recent example that comes to mind is the Weiss meteor thing). I don't think it's inconceivable that they could give Mob the win, even if I think they shouldn't, but I don't think his statement really lends any credence to the possibility.

Them bringing up that feat to counter Tatsu's meteor feat seems like a very DB argument. Probably something like "Tatsu has this meteor feat but it's unsupported by canon and ONE himself calls it an outlier, but even if you do use it Mob has higher in non-canon too", like Ryu vs Jin.

Well I think Screwattack may actually downplay Tatsumaki's speed.

Our site says Iaian is Mach 7k because he does Katana things.

But Katana is only baseline MHS even in our site and Screwattack only considers Batman being bullet dodging tier. So Iaian likely is clocked as 4 times Katana's combat speed because he blitzed 4 bullets.

(While Marvel street characters are at least MHS+ close to relativistic for lightning dodging or doing things in 1 microsecond, Carnage is blitzed by Lucy for Lucy being Mach 5** while Carnage being < Mach 3.)

While Mob is lightning dodging and will be at least Mach 280 likely Mach 129* possibly 1.82% c.

If Mob wins, which he's likely going to, it won't be because of stats, or at least not speed. My guess is they'll use that chapter with Mob using ??? to escape having his powers blinded as justification for psychic binding not working, and then just say he's fairly comparable in AP and can just absorb Tatsu's powers.

To be fair though, Tatsu is listed under Mob's victories on this very site for literally that exact same reason, so.

Mob VS Tatsumaki is probably a hard one, depending if you consider him meeting Tatsumaki actually canon, as ONE stated that Mob indeed becomes even through being serious.

Otherwise, Tatsumaki would take this.

He's not likely going to.

Mob has a vague resistance to a weaker mental binding (OPM requires a stronger will and power to break TK) and relies on ONE's statement to even scratch Tats

I thought of the perfect puns for either of them winning.

Mob: Since Tatsumaki was mobbed of her victory, she isn't very psyched. The odds of her winning were 100 to ONE.

Tatsumaki: Since Shigeo was mobbed of his victory, he isn't very psyched. The odds of him winning were 100 to ONE.

^

Also they had Hiei resist Sasukes genjutsu mind hax even though he has affected people who have resisted it so they may still have Mob resist it either way.

I mean, they also said they only did that because Hiei was by their calcs stronger than Sasuke.

For what it's worth though, somebody spoke to Ultra a few months ago about this matchup, and he said that a lot of Mob's strongest feats haven't actually been calced yet, so we'll see. Expect a lot of homemade calcs on DB's end.

they also had strunton as a lead researcher so i don't think you can compare them :/

Nah, this is a trailer meant to hype up people who might nit be interested in it, they were going to show ??? as the "Oh shit" climax either way. It depends on how far into the fight ??? comes in though. If it's anything less than the last 30 seconds Mob's dead. They've been willing to use footage from the very end of the fight in trailers before.

If anything, the music is probably gonna me it really, really obvious who wins.

I personally think Mob Psycho is the better show, but both are excellent. Both are legitimately funny shows with great animation and a solid cast, but I think MP100 has the edge in terms of story-telling and its message. ONE seems to think so anyway.

Hate to sound like a massive weeb, but read the manga/web comic. Manga cause the art is way better, and the web comic because it's a bit further along and still well written.

Definitely read the manga for the Garou arc instead of the anime. Art is amazing and the fight scenes are so visceral. The webcomic still has solid writing too, and the art isn't actually half-bad. Just compare the Metal Bat vs Garou fight scene in the manga against the anime.

Can't sing my praises of the OPM manga enough. I know the web-comic is ahead in the story for now, but the effort put into the art is so much more than one would think it would get. Could anyone imagine that at the beginning of the web comic's run it would go on to be one of the best drawn manga, best animated anime (Season 1 anyway), and one of the most popular Japanese properties of the decade? If that isn't a true underdog story, I don't know what is
