I think it's mainly because of Joker supposedly defying fate or something. And the logic if he can do that, then he can resist GER.

MFTL+ speed isn’t really exclusive to their wormholes like our profiles imply since it’s directly stated Allen the Alien’s reflexes are proportional to his Spaceflight. Also Mark outdistanced a MFTL ship on-screen without wormholes.

There's more to it. They also both can eat enemies to copy their abilities, and can even summon enemies they've eaten as allies.

He could technically do that but it’d be pretty lame. Another way to him to win is DB simply using Invincible’s high-end interpretations, which range from Planet to Star level.
Not sure, but Omni-Man probably isn’t dumb enough to keep going for punches if they aren’t working.

The issue its that if they go with the Anime version, Bardock its Dwarf Star level, easily millions of times above Omni-Man's power.
Bardock could only need a single ki blast to vaporize him.

It'll be interesting with the new franchises if DB will go straight for the main protag/villain or use a wildcard.
