DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (2024–2025) (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Hulk didnt really start it, he asked Broly something and he began to get all mad for scaring the deers off, Hulk may have baited him, but he didnt start the fight, Broly also threw the first punch
I can't reply to the rest but I will say that I'm not saying if it's in character for them or not, I'm just saying there is a trend of sorts.

Hulk prob didn't start it but he acted way out of character because Worldbreaker Hulk is just The Green Scar but at the peak of his anger, why would he want to break everything after fighting Broly for a few minutes.

Ghost Rider vs Spawn I am not involved with but I will say that Max leveled the hell up. It's one of the best comic edits on the show. I can really only say that everyone involved cooked on it.

Oh, I didn't answer the second half. I can't really attach expectations but I am very excited for my next two edits for reasons that'll be immediately apparent.
I see, curious if your edits are about what i think may be, but i dont wanna jump to conclusions yet

One thing i wanted to ask last time, are you or other researchers checking up on some franchises or characters from vs battle wiki regarding stats and haxes to a degree outside your own research or everything is done solo by the crew without checking anywhere at all

The hulk we had was immortal hulk which is more akin to dbz broly if to he compared, while super broly acted more like the classic hulk, the misunderstood monsters whom doesnt have anything with you unless you annoy him

So basically, if we reference VBW, it's usually as a start to get a general idea of a fight. But we're expected to turn in full character notes, calcs, and documents (for a comic character, a comprehensive document on all their issues, video games, timestamped notes, etc. etc.). So VBW has never been a replacement for a character research. At least since I've been on the team. There's stuff here we don't necessarily agree with sometimes and stuff we say this site doesn't agree with, VS does that. Different interpretations and all that.

This finitist take on scaling is getting so outdated and annoying. Stop making up numbers and calculating weird maps and just actually use statements and logic, please? Literally brought up the tree that transcends spacetime just to be like "nah we gonna do the funny and calc this map" in the most strange way possible lol. It's such a desperate attempt at trying to please the "visuals matter!" bros.

Just commit to using statements. Especially when you already brought it up.
I don't even understand how they calced the tree. It was just so poorly explained.

Alrighty, thanks for the answer

I also didn't understand the math a bit.

Asura's values are 10^74 joules or 90,000 universes, and Kratos' value is 10^78 joules, but 9,000,000 universes. The joules differ 10,000 times, and the equivalent of "universe" is 100 times

... They said it was 9.91 million x universal..

Anyways don't care much about the fight but it was alright at most tbh. Funny seeing people on reddit that keep complaining about Kratos anti-feats when I'm pretty sure Asura had anti-feats of that sort as well.

Next fight is just something i do not care at all about, i doubt I'll watch it. Hopefully the fight after that will be interesting.

Okay now that I looked at the map better, the red line is comparison of size of our own actual observable universe. Blue line is the height of the tree and green line should be the width then... but wait would numbers add up in that pic?

Also oof, they didnt use Manga regeneration for Asura cause not only did Kratos still could counter it, but cause they deemed it contradictory to the game lol

Actually if heaven is a planet the size of a universe by DB standards shouldn't it be like, more impressive then the tree?
Pretty sure yggdrasil tree is supposed to be more impressive with the roots/branches in size
To be more specific and elaborate on Darkness' point: if you don't buy higher dimensional Yggdrasil, which is fair, you could still argue that Yggdrasil holds nine universes within itself since you could argue that the Nine Realms are parallel dimensions with their own space and time. This would be greater in size then a singular universe in DB by that standard.

Well ya but, they didn't

I know what causes me more negativity than unjustified expectations from the fight.

There are a whole bunch of bloggers on YouTube who are now starting to react to this episode and posting their reactions to the fight, attaching their stupid faces with idiotically open mouths to the previews.

They just incredibly make surprised faces, say "wow, wow" and try to make money on the hype from the episode.

I think it's interesting that a lot of people actually disagree with the fight. Obviously r/whowouldwin doesn't like it since a lot of people there think anything above country level Kratos is "wank" (and even country level Kratos might get pushback), but I'm kind of surprised how much r/deathbattle disagrees with it (it's not the majority, but it is a pretty large amount of people). Most other vs sites disagree with it (but that's too be expected).

We honestly might be one of the only places where the result isn't controversial, at least, according to our site's pages.

I'm pretty sure that's just how react channels are in general.

Their bias prevents them from seeing that both of these characters have similar antifeats and saying that someone who kills gods for a living is building level becomes more reasonable to them.
Characters should be scaled by what's consistent in the in-game lore rather than gameplay elements. Otherwise, every single game character is 9-C by dying to a slightly big fall.
