DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (2024–2025) (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

I think Eggman wins the G1 blog, and Bowser wins the episode.

G1 blog and Death Battle community are far more critical of Sonic than this site is, (not talking about the DB crew, I mean the community, discord, reddit, etc) but at the same time, I don't know if there are any Mario supporters or experts that would argue as hard as for Bowser as the Sonic fans would for Eggman. After seeing the Silver vs Trunks G1 blog and remembering how far of a reach some of the arguements against Trunks were, Bowser finna be under a magnifying glass.

Bowser prolly got nothing but opps in the G1 blog, but the Death Battle itself are his streets.

It's so close though, so it's up in the air

My hope is that no matter who wins, that one guy on twitter who compared being an 06 fan to being an irl oppressed minority gets sent a special version where 06 Eggman specifically get's stomped to hell and back

I wonder what counters they'll use for Eggman dealing with Bowser's pseudo-immortality (And if they'll actually make sense this time instead of whatever they did in Bowser vs Ganon), dude absolutely has counters for it but curious to see how the episode handles it.

Eggman has a lot of ways of beating Bowser without killing him, but I think that will be one of the reasons Bowser will win the episode.
Honestly it's kinda the main reason I'm betting on Bowser, I think DB will go the war of attrition route and have Bowsers regen and type 2 Immortality let him last long enough and survive fatal injuries to get the W

yes he can

The recent caste implies they only think super forms are uni, tho they conviently only mentioned base speed (they downplayed to light) i wonser where they place super forms and therefore eggman's heavy hitters
Yeah, they really pushed some wild stuff for Mewtwo like saying magic room would affect the chaos emeralds and inhibitor rings, even though they frequently resist power null/Mephiles respectively.

I also kept yelling if taking off the ring did make him blow up the explosion would take out mew two...

One of them did keep saying that it wouldn't affect the emeralds but was low key about it, I think he wa holding back going over something in the episode

Didn't they say Shadow was infinite speed and multiversal? That's what I heard.

Honestly? That's light years more preferable of an argument compared to saying that Shadow is so vulnerable to mind manipulation when they show a feat on screen of him resisting his mind being manipulated.

Though I still obviously disagree since the Chaos Emeralds, and Shadow himself, resist power null but it's whatever I suppose.

The debates on these casts aren't meant to be reflective of how Death Battle overall scales them, they have two cast members debate who'd win and each one basically off the top of their head has to think of arguments for why the character they're representing wins and they don't get a whole lot of time, they sometimes do some research beforehand but they're not able to really look as in depth as the whole research team does for an DB episode.

So basically a mix of whatever persons personal scaling and not being able to go as in depth as they'd like before getting into a relatively short debate means inconsistent stats for the casts outside of certain things (Like super forms being cosmic is consistent, but how high they go varies in the cast)

But did they put them at infinite speeds and multiversal or not?

Djangor argued infinite speed and a vague degree of Multiversal, whether they bought it isn’t clear.
I think in general he didn’t try as much to rep Shadow.

Honestly this probably comes down to who has the simpler wincon. So much info to cram in, they need to make it digestible to viewers.
So it comes down to either Eggman's intelligence plus strategy superiority (and Lightman Otherworldification) versus Bowser's strength, hax and the indomitable minion Spirit (and the other items Bowser has).
