if speed is equalized, No knowledge for either character, Incap only.

is it possible for a matchup to be made between these two characters?
    Hola Senor Bambu

Remember the whole Universal Power Source schtick? Well it's been sometime since you last commented on the staff-only thread voicing your approval, and substantial changes to the draft were made in accordance to what AKM said there, and DDM also made his argument for keeping a page. (All the links for DDM's argument and my draft can be found here). Care to weigh in your opinion once more?
    Mr. Bambu
    Mr. Bambu
    oh, goodie.
    Mr. Bambu
    Mr. Bambu
Man it seems to have drifted fuckloads since I was last here, eh?

Since DDM's summary is a mile and a half long, tell me, without all the bureaucracy tacked on: is it, more or less, still the same thing? DDM's post rambles on quite a bit, and I've little interest in spending my time off of work parsing it for relevant information. I'm still reading your sandbox, of course.
Hey, I had a question regarding tabletop profiles, if you have a minute.

If a tabletop rpg has had 2 editions (technically three but the 1st is explicitly no longer canon), with the same cast and setting between them, but the exact mechanics of the in-universe power system changed a lot between the two, how would we handle it?
My gut reaction is to treat the changes as a retcon and default to the latest edition, but I wanted to get a second opinion.

    Okay, one other question

When an elemental in D&D is killed (The ones with Type 9 Immortality), will it be disconnected from the plain it is on and thus be unable to harm its opponent or does it mean it'll come back repeatedly until it is killed on all plains?

And continuing on, when fighting a person with Type 9 Immortality, is killing the vessel enough if it prevents the original from interacting with their opponent?
    Mr. Bambu
    Mr. Bambu
That depends on the elemental. Low-tier ones are unlikely to be able to return in a reasonable amount of time. However, Elemental Lords such as Olhydra could very well return within a 24 hour time limit, especially if the location was in their favor (continuing with the Olhydra example, this would mean fighting near or in a large body of water).

@Mr._Bambu I have a question regarding the regular scum

Do their poison and diseases affect inorganic beings? And do they start by stabbing if stealth isn't an option?
    Mr. Bambu
    Mr. Bambu
Probably not, regarding inorganic beings, though some people have liberal notions of what an inorganic being is. For example, plenty of creatures have stone skin but would reasonably be affected by poison, should it get to their blood. Just a thought.

And... probably? Stabbing is their primary means of offense, that's really all they're gonna do.
Does the new video suffice? They dodge the Pod lasers which do not produce any warning lines. I also have uploaded a fifth video showing enemies also reacting to lasers. And screenshots and photos from the novelization and world guide to support these feats. As well as the EMP blasts which take one frame to travel its max distance.

If this is not sufficient what exactly needs to be shown? As mentioned, all of these are easily replicated. Let me know what is required and I will get it.
Hey, Bambu, my guy, my friend, buddy.

I've been asked by @Malomtek to relay a message for him on a thread. I'm confused on whether or not this is allowed, as some people on said thread are saying that proxying isn't allowed. I was told to come to you on this.

Am I allowed to proxy for Mal or would that be me violating a rule?
    Mr. Bambu
    Mr. Bambu
You are allowed. Malom and Fujiwara were blocked from threads not for lack of contribution, but for butting heads and generally causing chaos.

You're fully permitted to proxy on threads for them. Just keep it civil.

Hey bambu, what would be the tier for D&D magic??
    example: tier 1 = H6A, tier 2 = multi galaxy etc.
    Mr. Bambu
    Mr. Bambu
what are you even talking about lol
    Mr. Bambu
    Mr. Bambu
It's the tier listed on the profile. Same tiers for physical shit.

    Level 1-2: 9-B
    Level 3-4: At least 9-B/9-A
    Level 5-8: 9-A
    Level 9-10: 8-C
    Level 11-12: High 8-C to 8-A
    Level 13-19: Low 7-B
    Level 20-24: 6-C
    Level 25-33: Low 6-B to 6-B
    Level 34-56: High 6-A
    Level 57+: Arguably High 6-A to 2-A

After that levels break down and each character requires individual scaling. Shit continues up to 1-A from Far Realm creatures like the Uvuudaum or Father Llymic. Only thing above them is Lumi, who has no magic in the normal sense.
Hey, it's me again, yeah I'm a yellow name now, but this dude doesn't wanna budge from his assumptions regarding whether it's frag or pulv, even though everyone else has said it's frag, and then some other stuff about him calling the destruction energy as KE even though no velocity is in play and that it's irrelevant to finding out the severity of the destruction.

You got some insight since you recently evaluated those FF feats involving reinforced concrete or some shit so your help would be very useful.
what's your latest avatar from mr. bambu and where is that banner from?

also could you explain to me the dimensions of dnd?

which characters are 3d, 4d, and so on.

    thanks
    Mr. Bambu
    Mr. Bambu
    1. Ask, I guess. As a general rule, gods have it by right of having access to all spells (some spells are 1-A). Other than that, it is typically aberrations or those dealing with them.

    2. Nosir. That is a lot of Homebrew. The best for actual lore is the Forgotten Realms wiki except it obviously doesn't encompass all of D&D- it is one setting of many.
    Artorimachi_Meteoraft
    Artorimachi_Meteoraft
    can i add both then?
    Mr. Bambu
    Mr. Bambu
no. Homebrew can't be added for obvious reasons, that "wiki" is content invented by the editors of that wiki. If I had to guess it seems to be the stuff off of the old SRD homebrew wiki, just ported to Fandom.

I'm less opposed to the FR wiki, but it is inconsistent data with a lot of the rest of the verse, which sadly do not have anywhere near the same quality. I also don't know if going through every verse trying to add links to their wikis is a really worthwhile endeavor.
Will this suffice? The first bit of the video focuses on the pod program laser which doesn't have any warning line. Second bit is a demonstration of the distance this can be performed from. Once again, none of the dodges are performed by me.

All dodge requirements have been met. I do not avoid the lines and in fact run into them to make sure the laser is fired at the character. This is also performed for lasers without warning lines such as the Pod program so there is no prior knowledge of when the attack will come. Doubly so because the dodge is performed by the game and not by me. The character stands still before before the laser fires and the auto-chips also ensure there is no dodge until after the laser is fired and the videos can be replayed frame by frame to show as such. If there is any doubt, all of this is easily replicated. And all dodges can be pulled of consistently.

Dodging a laser in the automataverse isn't that far fetched considering the bullets and missiles that are also dodged are accelerated with light speed propulsion. And the aforementioned ability to dodge EMP's.

If this is not sufficient what exactly needs to be shown? As mentioned, all of these are easily replicated.

Ey, Bambu- long time no see- Thought not sure if you remember lmao- but I can use a favor

I've been waiting for quite awhile for these to be evaluated, was wondering if you would have time to help out with that-

If you need any more context as to what's happening in the calculations than what the blog has already listed, go ahead and asked away, as for the second calc, I responded to the other guy but he didn't really want to answer-

    Anyways, much appreciated, thx-!
I did look at the scan he dodged right after it was fired, also we are talking about someone who can dodge them.

Apex I've watched the clip too. Are you just assuming I didn't? She begins firing the beams sporadically while he's staring at her and he moves accordingly. At no point does he actually out-speed the laser.

    Merry Christmas.

Ok maybe I confused his movement with he dodging the lasers.

Anyway I'm sure there are more laser feats in this game since all the weapons that the characters use and the ones in MTHR are lasers, I'll contact you if I find something.

Thanks anyway for checking my calc.
What’d you get blocked for a year for 🗿 sorry just curious you don’t have to answer

Back in 2016? I called Hop an asshat on FC/OC wiki. Prom banned me across the entire network. We've since made up.
I'm not quite sure I understood the comment left. It's not the only FTL speed feat they have. They can dodge lasers and very large ones at that. I have two videos montaging this. And the EMP's are instantaneous. With the exception of the cutscene, all EMP blasts are instant AOE. You can see this in the demo videos. I'm especially confused by the last part. Aside from the cutscene, which EMP is not done instantly? Unless you are referring to the charge up where the machine performs a motion that signals they are about to use an EMP. Yes, you're supposed to simply exit the area before that happens but as the montage videos show, you can remain in the area and dodge.
    Mr. Bambu
    Mr. Bambu
I have played NieR. I know what you're talking about. They are very fast- they are not instant. I also think dodging the lasers based on the lines that appear before they're shot isn't outspeeding a laser. At no point can you achieve that. So I don't agree with the calc. The EMPs are simply additionally sus because normally EMPs aren't displayed as FTL in speed.
    TheAngryOrange
Why is it not instant? It's a one frame difference from when there is no EMP to when you see the EMP (as in one frame where you have no EMP, then go to the next frame and it's completely there). You can find videos on youtube and use watchframebyframe. There's no wave you can track

Actually you can achieve that. I have two montages demonstrating this. You can see me run into the lines and even standing still in the lines before it's shot. I also fullfill the requirements for it to count as a dodge. I'm standing still before the firing so it isn't a miss. And since I didn't perform the dodge itself, it wasn't from anticipation. The easiest way to do it and be confident of no player anticipation is to use auto-chips. That's why the characters kept spam dodging and sometimes even dodged back into the laser. And even when you stand directly in front of the laser, the auto-dodge chip will dodge the laser. You can do this for lasers that don't have any warning for it too like the Pod laser program and koshi laser. With the exception of two dodges, all the dodges in the videos were done by auto chip. I don't have the Koshi dodge laser dodge but I can get video of it. But I do have dodges of the Pod laser program. And Pod lasers don't have a line appear.

Would a montage of pod laser program only be required? Keep in mind all these dodges are easily replicated. You can try for yourself. I can give you the chapter and locations if you want to test this yourself. Would doing these dodges yourself be enough?
    TheAngryOrange
Will this suffice? The first bit of the video focuses on the pod program laser which doesn't have any warning line. Second bit is a demonstration of the distance this can be performed from. Once again, none of the dodges are performed by me. I'll put it on the calc blog too.

I wasn't sure where you prefer to take your messages. I hear some ppl prefer to communicate over here but I left a message on the blog as well just in case.

Hello. Could you evaluate my calculation for me? It's just a strength and speed calc.

hey mr. bambu i know a lot of times in fantasy elves tend to be among the prettiest races.

    but

are there any other races in fiction/fantasy in general

that are prettier than even elves?
    Mr. Bambu
    Mr. Bambu
I don't particularly pay much mind to the beauty of races, since my personal choice in aesthetics are more in favor of grim, apocalyptic tones. That said, I do rather like the look of the Dranei from World of Warcraft, so I suppose they'd be my first choice.
    Artorimachi_Meteoraft
    Artorimachi_Meteoraft
    okay thanks

    but what about lore?
    Mr. Bambu
    Mr. Bambu
Plenty of creatures outshine elves by lore. I'll mostly reference D&D creatures here.

    • Succubi use magic to cheat this, but generally appear as literally the most attractive possible thing to the person viewing them.
    • Ki-rin are so beautiful that people weep tears of joy in their presence. This includes people who have seen the actual gods, including the god of beauty.
    • LeShay are said to be "to elves as elves are to humans".
    • Nymphs and shit tend to rank higher on the wily beautiful fey list than elves.
    • As mentioned above, gods.
    • While it isn't beauty in the same sense, Dragons are typically considered to be more physically attractive than most other creatures (including elves), albeit not in the same way. Mind you, this does not extend to all dragons, but rather true dragons- this excludes things like wyverns and such.
    • Medusae, ironically, were once more beautiful. They made deals with demon lords for temporary, awe-inspiring beauty- what we tend to fight, the creatures that turn people to stone, are the withered-out after effects.
    • Couatl share traits with dragons and ki-rin in that they are considered beautiful beyond compare by a lot of cultures.
    • Certain genies use magic to amplify their beauty to supernatural degrees.
    • Eladrin are a close-relative of elves that are often held in higher regard in this particular area of interest.
's all I can think of rn, elves in D&D though are fairly common things.
