DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

That's just an announcement for a Theme Park.......

They are different franchises whose worlds work completely different, they also never encountered each other in any canon cartoon or game

Actually Bugs appeared in a game about tom and jerry, mainly cuz of celebrating WB or something

While the fight escalation moreorless went how I expected it to, the lack of AGL and SGGL and just how quickly Simon went from GL to TTGL really bugs me. Second half was fire though.

I was thinking something similar, admittedly. I was like 'hang on, weren't there forms between Base and TTGL? Am I misremembering?'

Turns out I wasn't.

MachomanKoolaidman just recently reached 1.4 mil views, after like 3.5+ years. AangTraveler will not flop that bad.

But will it beat KilluaMisaka soon enough? That one is 1.693 mil views in almost 2 years. I believe it failed to reach a mil in 2 weeks. Heck, I think MMKAD failed to reach a mil in a month. SimonKyle is likely reaching that within 12h.

So thats the lowbar challenge for AangTraveler ig? Can it get 1-1.5 views mil in a month / how fast does it beat KilluaMisaka?

Wait, is informational regen different from conceptual regen?

Either way, it seems to be best form of regen in DB so far. Hmm would Simon vs 682 go? lol
I think it'd go something similar to when 682 fought against 3812: them just evolving and growing stronger to counteract each other.

Though I think the difference is that not only is the SCP cosmology much bigger than GL's cosmology, but there's also SCP 6820-A that completely murks Simon with zero difficulty.

Hell, Leader managed to take control of Green Doors as well, so perhaps Ultima has hax to replicate that as well.

Rewatching the episode, and man, I'm really bummed out about them leaving out the Ion stuff. Like I get why they did it, and WL is generally better in just everything. But I feel the Ion arc is one of the most essential arcs in explaining Kyle as a character and his journey throughout his Post-Crisis run. The issue with Kyle finally meeting his dad is probably one of my favourite single issues ever.

And if I'm being honest, as far as writing goes, I enjoyed Ion arc a lot more than the WL arc. Not to say his WL arc was bad, I liked it overall, but something about it didn't quite hit the same.

Can I be real for a second? I really do not like SCP when it comes to scaling and versus match ups. I'm sure there is a genuine, set in stone canon to it, but to a relative outsider it really just comes across like kids arguing on the playground.

"Actually my monster has the biggestest number and can do anything and is super scary and cool and invincible and -"

The only interesting SCP match I've ever personally seen is Wonder of U vs 096.
I mean it’s no different then most series that unfortunately get a lot of ideas from a lot of people who constantly need to one up each other for the sake of keeping up the “mystery” or the awe of the story. Make those people chronically online and it just exacerbates the problem.

I personally have no problem with like 999/3812 matchups because one’s a genuinely creative story idea which is more of a genuine tragedy and exploration of humanity’s relationship to reality then “lol big number” and the others a blob of kindness that kills edgy super rick and Morty nihilism god with hugs and that’s funny.

If regen is the name of the game then is Hulk kind of screwed since he no longer has the Green Door and Devil Hulk is long dead? Those were two of his greatest advantages and they're gone now.
Tbf I can see DB give it to hulk at his peak

I don't see why he wouldn't get them. He had them for a really long time and even got them against Broly so knowing how they're taking characters 'at their peak', it would be weird if he didn't now. Even as Fractured Son though, his regen is still pretty good.

Ironically, given that Simon had Meta-Narrative power (Otoko Scaling) when he faced the Anti-Spiral, with Spiral Power naturally leading to the Creation/Alteration/Control of Stories, the Anti-Spiral not only scales, but is also the Embodiment of the Suppression of Stories, via his Suppression of Spiral Power.

Which makes him both the hero of the Matchup, but also an interesting stand in for the Dark Monitor (Notable DC Villain).

Simon winning was the right choice for the Death Battle. Finally, a DC character losing, lol.

Powerscalers will call NLF on the adaptation they gave him, but it wasn't unreasonable. Also, the research was insane. I used to research a lot of Gurren Lagann stuff, and they pulled out some legitimately esoteric stuff we don't even use here.

Harley lost to Jinx and Super Friends Aquaman lost to Spongebob, along saying mainline Aquaman loses to him as well, Simon is the first non marvel character to beat a DC herald, but not the first one to beat a DC character overall

so who you guys say are the top 5 strongest character on the show (using the shows own scaling) and then top 5 strongest based on who you think is the strongest

As much as Id like it, I gotta feeling Galactus would Ullie Nullie Simon.

Theres way too many shit to rank for comics and its hard to say exactly how DB ranks em now, but Id say DC Top Tiers, Marvel Top Tiers, Unicron & Simon are basically guaranteed Top 4(ish) atm. They didnt talk about Doctor's DT so thats hard to say. DB Heroes, Archie Sonic & Bill Cipher has had notable DT placements, but maybe Im forgetting sth.

Hmmm Simon vs Unicron is another thought that came up.

Discord also had 5th dimensional scaling in the black boxes, using higher dimensional realms like Limbo. I doubt he or Bill are near the top most OP characters using their logic though. Kratos also got DT, but it just got simplified to however many times uni

I was trying to think Discord, but DB's weirdness (HA) made him infinite 4D, infinite timelines overtime, while Bill was 4D+, vague, but still implied to be stronger than Discord.

They didnt quite give Kratos 4D+ yeah, despite saying Yggdrasil transcends time and space, hell technically his calc was 3-A lol

Nah, they consider in-between spaces like Limbo to be 5D, whereas this site sees them as "insignificant" 5D, which I actually agree with. It's how Bill beat Discord, since the books showed a space between timelines which they counted as a higher dimensional realm, and then the Nightmare Realm being stated to be "higher" was enough for it to be another D lol, which is where they placed Bill.

Hasbro, please make Discord blatantly Outerversal with soul hax plus immediate conceptual and information regeneration in the next gen of MLP. It would be so awesome and I would forgive y’all for ruining D&D.
