Stars of Cinder • RP Thread (ON HIATUS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE)

"Oh that's... Weird... I guess!" Elis said, chuckling awkwardly as the man in the mask began opening the door.

"Done? Let's go." He said.

Kentoria walked out, gripping her sword and shield due to not knowing what to expect, immediately scanning the perimeter as she did so, instinctively getting in front of Elis, who was far weaker in Melee combat than her as a vanguard

Ryu walks out while holding his sword case. If something goes wrong, he can immediately summon his duplication swords and protect his teammates

The group was faced with enormous walls made of bricks of an unknown material, an enormous ornamental gate blocking their entrance into the base. "W-Woah..." Elis murmured, clearly impressed with the size of the base, realizing she was standing on some weird solid water...

"Why do you think they call them Tower Kingdoms?" The man with the mask said, guards walking up to confront him. They were completely coated in armor that had 0 openings or creases, which made one wonder how they breathed. They held giant spears in their hands, with another shortsword attached to their waists. The material was unknown even to Rex, and in fact, it seemed only the man in the mask knew what it was, as it was an orange-ish green color.

"Identification, please." One of the guards asked, a weird flying golem that resembled some sort of flying mass of fire floating above the group, Timcanpy floating around it.

"We're a group, sir. A band of mercenaries." The man explained.

"Ship designation?" The guard asked.

"Can't you figure that out just by looking at it...?" The man asked.

The guard would sigh, "Name of your crew...?"

"The Stars of Cinder." The man said, causing Elis's eyes to widen.

"He used my totally awesome crew name...! How did he even know it, though...?" Elis said to herself, smiling brightly as the man smirked in amusement at her.

"Alright..." The golem made of fire would flash a wave of light over the group, seeming as if it was scanning them for identification, ID cards appearing within all of their pockets, with their dates of birth and age, their home planets, and their names along with a picture of them.

"Your clear." The guard said, the gate slowly opening.

"Quite a town here, guess this place is as prosper as you say." Says Ryu as he see the city.

"Stars of cinders huh, quite a nice name."

(Kentoria doesn't have a pocket lol)

"That name is both good and cringey at the same time..." Kentoria thought as she prepared to walk forward

“The Stars of Cinder? I kinda like it.” Phares says as he looks around to take everything in. He begins walking forward towards the gate. “Not sure what I was expecting but this wasn’t it.” He adds.

The inside of the city was indeed grandiose, containing hundreds upon hundreds of tall buildings lined up next to each other to create a network of roads, people happily strolling around the city as guards patrolled. There seemed to be golems flying around as well, but they were less like golems and more like machines, as it seemed they lacked a soul, unlike Timcanpy, and they seemed to be used as more of pets or personal helpers.

Timcanpy transformed into human form, observing the area due to her inability to see in golem form.

"Oh, are you interested, Timmy?" Elis asked her friend.

"Yes, master. This place... Intrigues me. I would also like to meet our new allies." Timcanpy said.

Ryu just see the spectacle with awe as he reminiscing his home planet a bit.

"Oh yeah, we will meet our other allies are we? Where can we find them?" Says Ryu

Charlotte's cigarette almost dropped out of her mouth, staring at the city with barely concealed amazement as she looked around. The buildings were intact, clean...and far larger than anything she had ever seen. For someone like Charlotte, who grew up in such extreme poverty, she almost couldn't believe what she was looking at, and it took her a few moments to process the sight.

"...what the hell..." She muttered.

"We'll be meeting our allies in a... hotel. I rented us a room. Ugh... Shit costs dough here..." The man said, sighing.

Elis turned to Kentoria and Charlotte, "You two alright?"

Charlotte glance at Elis.

"Yeah...I'm just...not used to...this" Charlotte said.

"My hometown was mostly a collection of shacks and ruins...I've...never seen a place this big." She muttered.

"I'm fine, thanks for asking... you?" Kentoria asked, not the most used to these kinds of interactions
"I'm doing fine, I've been to places like this. Well... Place similar to this. Never been to a place this huge!" Elis said with a smile.
Charlotte glance at Elis.

"Ah yeah, towns in Skoupídia were pretty shitty..." Elis murmured, "Well, look on the bright side, if we've got a hotel room, I can make you that enchanted gun with the downtime we have!" Elis said, patting her on the back.

"heh....thanks kid. I appreciate it." Charlotte said, smiling a bit.

"...only wish I could show some of the folks back home what I'm seeing right now..." she muttered quietly, shaking her head a bit.

A few days ago and I would’ve seen this place as a target more then anything. Funny how quick that changed. Phares thought to himself amused by it. Looks like Eclipse won’t be making another appearance any time soon.

"I don't like them because there's too many places to hide..." Kentoria said to Elis
"Well, don't worry about that, I'm sure we could sense most people here barring Phares or whatever since he's good at stealth!" Elis said, trying to reassure her crewmate with a gentle smile.

The group eventually reached the hotel, yada yada, got to the room, it was pretty big, yada yada, now we wait for everybody else lol.

"Your crewmates should be here soon." The man said, "For now, get used to the atmosphere. I'd like to investigate the danger Elis was sensing as soon as possible..."

Rex while waiting transformed his sword into his canteen and then went to the fridge in the hotel room to get it out.

"refreshing" he said as he took a sip of beer from his canteen

Kentoria sat down on a couch just as the door opened, revealing a man with brown to orange hair and orange eyes walking in

"Hello, pleased to make your aquantices, I am Lothon Forthar!" Lothon said, nodding to each of the group

A man stood behind Lothon, making sure that his hands were no longer shooting out sparks of electricity. Still a bit nervous, he steeled himself and gave a customary bow of honor to everyone within the room.

"It is an honor to serve beside you all, I am Nageki Rivera."

"O-Oh, nice to meet you both! I'm Elis Cinder, and I'll be your crewmate from here on out...!" Elis said awkwardly, going up to shake both of their hands.

"Do try and get along, everyone." The man with the mask said.

Charlotte leaned against a wall, stretching as she took out another cigarette.

"Don't need to be so formal. This ain't that kind of group" She said, glancing at Nageki.

"Charlotte." She said, introducing herself.
