God to Villain - Steel Hell (RP Thread)

fc6oDbj.jpg

Rain poured to the grounds of Dusk City, the alleyways painted in liquid. Rats crawled through the muck of the desolate region, all manner of scum crawling into the streets of Dusk City to do their business.

And in the deepest, darkest parts of the city...

...

"Engen..."

A man walked into a dark, cold room, a flickering light keeping the room alight. It was empty, devoid of any obvious furniture or anything to brighten the mood. It was akin to a... solitary confinement chamber, cut off from the outside world and any other form of contact.

"I agreed to bring them here because I thought I'd get something out of this. Now, I know you'd never lie to me, but..."

"Quiet, Mujin. They'll come."

With him, stood another. He hid in the darkness, outside of sight, but he domineered over the air... His voice made the space around him tremble, and caused the man that stood before him to shudder, the power seeping into his veins. The man, seemingly named Mujin, shook his head, putting his hands in his pockets, a sly grin plastered across the dull man's face. He breathed out.

The two men, clouded in mystery, awaited their partners.

"You sure they'll come, Engen...?"

"They'll come."

"You said that already, but..."

"I told you to wait, Mujin... No villain worth a damn would pass up a job this profitable. Just have faith."

"Faith in what...?"

"Faith in villainy."

"Having faith in a villain...? Great idea..."

And they continued to wait.

"Mind giving me a briefing on them...?"

"You doubt to much, Mujin..."

"I at least deserve a briefing..."

"....."

"Come on, Engen. A briefing. I need info on who I'm working with."

"...."

"...Please?"

"...Fine."

"Great!"

"...."

"...Mind starting?"

"...Alarak Tal'tharim. A fighter. Previously a rich kid, but kicked out of her household after murdering a servant at the age of 5. Currently a mercenary. Her Soul Edge is called Psionic. Its effects aren't publically known."

"Sounds hard to deal with. Next?"

"..."

"...Next??"

"Michael. I don't know her past. Her Soul Edge is unknown."

"Wish you had more info, but, what can you do...? Next."

"Cato Hyatt. His past is irrelevant. His Soul Edge is unknown."

"....Amazing briefings."

"You wanted information."

"This isn't information..."

"You want it or not?"

"...Fine. Next."

"Zack Johns. Known to the public as the "Painter Master". A first-rate villain, with a versatile Soul Edge that allows him to distort reality."

"Reality Distortion...? Heh. Intriguing."

"It's powerful. It's why I hired him. But it's not all-powerful."

"Obviously. Next?"

"Kiara Merlo. An unknown past, with a pathetically weak Soul Edge. But she has potential. She can grow, if put to work."

"You've always had an eye for potential, haven't you, Engen...? Heh... Next?"

"Antony Collins. Another first-rate Villain. His powers are devastating, uncontrollable, but strong when tempered. He'll be useful for some muscle."

"Is that so...? I'll keep an eye on him, then. Next?"

"Mimic. Once again, a first-rate Villain. Digging up info on him his hard, though. He's never gone public with his skills, and the Hero Association has no file on him."

"He's discreet, then?"

"Very. I didn't have time to do anymore digging."

"It'll be interesting to meet him, then... Next?"

"Finally, a woman known as Tooha. Not a lot of info on her to begin with."

"Haaaa... Well, it's a fine enough briefing. I know what to expect... somewhat, then. I guess we just need to wait, then..."

Mujin crossed his arms, staring at the door as his teeth collided with his lower lip, a shudder running through his body.

"Don't get to excited, Mujin..."

"Oh, I won't... I just... wonder. Wonder who'd join us in this Hell..."

And as such, they waited for the new arrivals...

Mujin sighed and shrugged, "Oh, well. And here I thought I'd have a buddy to test out some new products on... The world is such a sad, sad place..."

"I'm glad you agree with me! Truly, humanity won't be able to survive without the dazzling beauty of Mimic." Mujin said as they approached the gates of the city, several guards standing in rows at the front of it.

"Looks like the guards are armored to the teeth, as always... Heat and cold resistant armor, as well..." Mujin said, noting how heavily armed the guards were. They were coated in several thick steel plates that packed immense power and were also light enough to retain superhuman levels of speed. Each of the guards held high caliber rifles with enough power to blow holes in solid diamond. Clearly, even though most of them were human, they would be able to take on a Soul Edge user with their gear.

"If things go well this should go smoothly, otherwise things will definitely get ugly." Michael said with narrowing eyes

Antony trailed a little behind the group, his ID now firmly in his grasp as he and the group walked up to the entrance to Cloud City, nodding a little as Michael spoke.

Mimic grimaced, his hands fiddling with the ID in his pocket as he looked up at the armed guards. He assumed he could simply possess one of the guard's suits, should things turn ugly...but their presence still made him uneasy.

"...They've got enough firepower to take on an army." Mimic murmured, fidgeting slightly as he walked.

"Which is why we won't provoke them to use said firepower." Mujin said, walking forward. "I'll... talk to them, butter them up a bit so they don't attack."

"If they're gonna shoot us, I don't think you can say anything that will stop them from shooting now." Kiara said.

Mujin glanced down at Kiara, before smiling. "Trust me when I say I don't need council from a child. I know what I'm doing."

“Don’t expect us to bail you out if things go south.” Mimic murmured. He buried his hands deep in his pockets, his eyes drifting slightly as he examined the surrounding environment. His eyes settled on a few loose objects, inwardly making a note of their presence.

"Which is why we won't provoke them to use said firepower." Mujin said, walking forward. "I'll... talk to them, butter them up a bit so they don't attack."
Cato walked next to him, not saying anything. Knowing he has the Soul Edge to escape, he assumes that it's best to assist Mujin, in case anything does fo wrong, or maybe due to his boredom prompting him to do it.

(Alright, getting back to this or else @InfiniteDay will hold me at gunpoint.)

Mujin smiled, "I'll be fine. Don't worry, I'm quite the... conversationalist."

Slowly, he walked up to the guards, striking up a conversation with them. At this distance it was rather difficult to make out what they were actually saying to each other, but, Mujin wasn't getting shot on sight, so... Clearly, something was going well.

Michael frowned as she watched, she didn't trust any of this, but she tried to at least loosen her expression ws to not give anything away

Though Mujin may or may not have noticed, but Cato was behind him, hands in his pockets, scanning the armed men as he analyzed and profiled them.

(Poke)

Mimic’s tired eyes focused on Mujin, carefully reading the man’s lips as he spoke. Even if the conversation was going well, he wanted to make sure the man wasn't revealing any...compromising information. It would be all too easy for him to sell him out, especially with the information he obtained.

“...Moment things go south...I’ll use that pebble. Small enough to avoid detection, sturdy enough it won't crumble underfoot...” Mimic thought, recalling the small wall he had seen nearby.

Eventually Mujin would return to the group, a cheerful smile on his face. "They said so long as we had identification, we can get in!... And so long as I do them a little favor in the future, if you catch my drift."

"Well, so what now?" Zack Asked
"Well, first off we should probably find a place to bunk once we get in. So we aren't, yknow, on the streets the whole time." Mujin said, "After that... Well, we can discuss our "plans" in a more private setting."

"Are you confident enough that the guards will not suspect us?" he asked.

"Okey, so, huh, we need a Hotel... Unless someone know a place here"

"Are you confident enough that the guards will not suspect us?" he asked.
"I'd be more confident if you didn't act like we come off as suspicious." Mujin said plainly.
"...Favor?" Mimic muttered. He raised an eyebrow, but decided not to inquire further.

"...I assume you have money for a hotel?"
"Oh, probably. Hopefully. I don't know how expensive things are in Cloud Garden, so far all we know some of us may have to sleep outside!" Mujin said.

Mimic rolled his eyes. It certainly wouldn't be the first time he had slept on the ground during a job, the man still recalling the annoying, uncomfortable ache of attempting to sleep against walls and sidewalks.

"...If a city like this has a slum, we could crash there. Doubt anyone would care about a few more homeless bums in a place like that."

"I keep cash on me." Michael said bluntly

Alarak rolled her eyes, but while she was bloodthirsty, and arrogant beyond belief, she was far from a fool, enough people at once and they would go down, so she just stayed quiet despite her displeasure at going in quietly

"Well if you all have cash then feel free to rent a place. Not any of my business, after all!" Mujin said with a shrug, as began to walk. "Now, if you'll please follow me into the gates..."
