Damn is super even good lol? I need to rewatch the series Imao
Super has a lot of writing flaws. Despite that it's still fun to watch. It's a perfect turn your brain off series. And despite the Tournament of Power flaws, it was still a fun ride. Especially when we were waiting week after week trying to see how long X character lasted in the tournament.

Jiren, while kind of a Superman ripoff, isn't the most dull thing in the world. In the Manga he has a no killing policy, and he even initially refused to join the Tournament of Power just because he didn't want to be responsible for the destruction of all the other universes. He only joined the tournament because he wanted to use the Super Dragon Balls to ressurect his master. He's far from the most boring person in the tournament of power, and I can certainly see what they were going for.

Although he's probably leagues more interesting reading a wiki page than actually watching him on the show.

Jiren is just a case fine idea but was poorly executed like most things in super
