Death Battle Season Eight Discussion Thread (2) (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

They confirmed it all the way back to 2015 when they showed Gaara vs Toph at a panel. I actually have no interest in that match-up myself, but yeah I have had this feeling it wouldn't happen this season. Sucks for those who wanted to see it.

We really needed Korra vs Storm and MachoAids huh.
 
GalaCron is literally the Legacy Finale No MU other MU really holds up to it

Folks say Haloid but we had enough returnes this season and isn't finale material
 
I like Steven vs Star, but yeah other matchups should've taken its place. Though I suppose we needed a cartoon match-up this season so....I would let it stay

I would discard Korra Vs Storm, Shadow vs Ryuko, MachoAids, Akuma vs Shao Kahn and replace them with more requested match-ups. Akuma vs Rhao/Garou/etc could stay, but get rid of Kahn. and of course Korra vs Rey as "filler". Ben messed up big time.

We got matches that have been around for decades like Cole vs Alex, Galactus vs Unicron, Witch vs Zatanna, Seiya vs Moon, crap Silver vs Trunks is more legacy than those (except Akuma vs Shao Kahn, that’s been around forever).
But nah apparently those couldn’t make the cut but Korra vs Storm did 💀

Korra could've been saved for another Season
if we're talking a Sonic outside Bowser vs Eggman not would really fit from the series maybe other series
MachoAids was a Joke Fight Chad wanted for years
Kahn vs Akuma had the whole Big Boss Rivalry

If you’re mad at that you should be more mad about Blake vs Mikasa. Absolutely nobody gave a **** about that one lmao (and Fr that’s the best y’all got during legacy season). And MachoMan taking up a spot was so stupid.

And let’s be real they won’t do Ruby vs Maka until Ruby scales cuz as of right she gets pimp slapped to the Stone Age.

Death Battle double standards for what matches and what characters get, backfires bad to them
 
The fact Cole vs Alex hasn’t happen yet really just surprise me lol. Like hasn’t the MU been around for years? Yet it doesn’t make it when the season is literally about history. Like I love GB vs RF as much as the next guy but compare that to Cole vs Alex it really doesn’t have that history theme

Goku Black vs Thawne has history DB via DC vs DB given Goku vs Superman put the show on the map

Vergil vs Sephiroth-Was in a normal season no issue.
Thanos vs Darkseid-IW war Hype and A Highly Requested MU for years
All Might vs Might Guy-Fit the Season Theme of Weird MU plus All Might had Presence of a Finale Combatant
Hulk vs Broly-Both Iconic Characters, was supposed to happen in S3, Easily Worth a Season Finale

Like going from Madara vs Aizen to Galacron is literally the perfect way to cap off the season and maintain interest
