Death Battle Season Eight Discussion Thread (2) (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Amendments 1/?:
Spawn vs Ghost Rider goes to 50/50 (Lobo vs Ghost Rider wasn't THAT long ago)
Spawn vs Demi-Fiend goes to don't count on it (there's not a chance we're getting it before Ghost Rider vs Spawn)
Ash vs Yugi goes 50/50 (decently requested, uses big ticket franchises, but I'm struggling to see how you'd choreograph something like this)
Bill vs Discord goes to don't count on it, borderline lol no (it's MLP's only remaining shot at the show, if one exists at all)
Every MLP matchup besides Bill vs Discord goes to lol no, for aforementioned reasons
Cell vs Dark Samus goes to 50/50 (Cell's decently requested, DS is the fan favourite opponent for him, Metroid is more popular than it's been in years thanks to Dread. The big knock against it is that Cell has a million other opponents competing against Dark Samus to fight him)
Meta Knight vs Zero goes to probable
I don't know how controversial this is, but I'll put Doomsday vs 682 in 50/50.
Shulk vs Lightning goes in 50/50, borderline probable (decently requested, lot of history to it, brings in a new verse, I imagine they're well aware of the demand for non-7 Final Fantasy to be represented).
Palpatine vs Xehanort goes to 50/50, borderline probable (would be higher if it weren't essentially bad guy version of Yoda vs Mickey)
Aigis vs Noel goes to 50/50
Yu vs Josuke goes to don't count on it, borderline 50/50
Cervantes vs Spinal goes to 50/50, borderline don't count on it
Kira vs Adachi goes to don't count on it
Chie vs Mako goes to don't count on it, borderline 50/50
Taskmaster vs Deathstroke goes to 50/50 ("Taskmaster" being in Black Widow helps net it a few relevancy points)
 
I’ll also go over all possible Final Fantasy matchups that have a possibility of happening.

Bahamut has Rayquaza

Cecil has someone but I completely forgot who it was.

Terra Branford has Gwen Tennsyon

Kefka has Marx and more importantly, Loki

Sephy vs Aizen might happen like five seasons down the road but don’t count on it.

i completely forget Vincent’s non-Shadow MU

As I said above, Squall has Tatsuya

Yuna has Lucy Heartfilia

Lightning has Shulk

Noctis also has someone but I forgot. I think it was Chrom but I’m not sure.

If we’re counting KH, it’s Palpanort and Riku vs Meta Knight. Zero vs MK is unlikely as they’re likely going to focus on Zero era Zero if/when the Robot Master returns, who’s nothing like Meta Knight.

Wouldn't put Bowser vs Eggman as "probable" when the team has said they wanted to do a review of Eggman vs Wily before and even did blogs about it

Very well, Eggman vs Wily 2 is between don't count on it and 50/50. Could happen, but not while Doomslayer vs Chief exists as the popular rematch request.

Watch me be immediately disproven with the season 9 premier.

Quite the opposite, lol. I vibe hard with HST matches. One of my most wanted matchups is Hitsugaya vs Aokiji. And I love Madara vs Aizen. It's my most anticipated MU of the season.

Aizen vs Madara is close, but Madara is taking the decisive victory. Slightly edges out in stats (both are planet but Madara scales higher, meanwhile Aizen is relativistic+ to Madara's FTL) and Madara resists the Kyoka Suigetsu (did I spell it right)

Once again, take everything I say with a grain of salt. At best I'm a G1 dude, not a DB researcher. All my info is just the casual talk on the matter. It's just that more often than not we share similar opinions to our DB friends. We were right about Dio vs Alucard for example, but Hulk vs Broly we were dead wrong.

I agree with this. Squatsuya is a somewhat close match, but Yu vs Josuke would be one sided as **** even if Persona didn't get cosmic upgrades.

Btw, the reason Squall beats Tatsuya isn't because of hard stats (they're equal in AP debatably, although Squall is much faster). It's that Squall's abilities hard counter Tatsuya's and Squall can just...steal Tatsuya's Personas.

Just cuz a character is a fodder in his verse or has a bad track record for fights, doesnt mean they dont stomp someone nowhere near their level

Like Vegeta can wipe the floor with a lot of franchises despite how he is treated in his series
