Yeah, that’s what make fight feel kinda off. If Akuma and Kahn were in the same game, Akuma would be treated as above Kahn. Same with Alucard vs Dio and Cable vs Booster. But that really doesn’t matter in VS, you have to look at actual stats and not how they are treated in series.

Well, with the infinite speed upgrades, I can at least confidently say Sakuya stomps the **** out of Hit by our own standards. Doesn't hurt that she has resistance to time fuckery now lmao

I guess any combat battler/maid would automatically work better for Sakuya than Hit, the character who's most suitable to fight Sakuya would probably have to be Fiona from Arcana Heart, but i don't remember connections between them, but i send them in this thread, i remember connections being ok, tho i still didn't really like the MU, tho not as much as i disliked Hit vs Sakuya

Hedging my bets for next season, by ranking how likely the super-requested matchups are. Let me know if I left any out, or there's any you disagree with.

Basically lock-ins:
Giorno vs Joker (given how requested it is, and how well DIO vs Alucard is doing view-wise, I'd be more surprised if we didn't get a Jojo matchup next year).
Thor vs Vegeta (Dragon Ball and Marvel are evergreen franchises for Death Battle, gives us the chance for a modern Vegeta analysis. Very algorithm-friendly too, which is a plus).
Ant-Man vs Atom (probably the single biggest Marvel vs DC request at this point).
Cole vs Alex (assuming not this season in place of Galactus vs Unicron).
Jason vs Micheal (assuming that COVID regulations have relaxed to the extent of allowing it to be filmed).
Catwoman vs Black Cat (I'd argue best bet for the next Marvel vs DC street tier fight)

Probable:
Bowser vs Eggman (the single biggest Mario vs Sonic matchup left to do, gives them a chance to give Bowser his due after the agony that is Bowser vs Ganon. Could also be the first 3D fight to feature either a Mario or Sonic character, so that's something).
Simon vs Kyle (It's THE Death Battle community matchup at the moment. More a matter of if than when at this point).
John vs Raidou (The upcoming episode is sponsored by SMT5, it's decently requested, Raidou is more relevant recently with the Nocturne remaster).
Scarlet Witch vs Zatanna (Marvel vs DC, WandaVision, blah blah blah ... ).
Fire Emblem as a whole (one of, if not, the single most overdue franchise for Death Battle (alongside Hunter X Hunter), plenty of viable characters and matchups)

Mewtwo vs BlackWarGreymon (best shot for a Mewtwo runback (runback in this context refers to good episode. not winning), decently requested, grants opportunity for new analysis for both Mewtwo and Digimon as a whole).
Master Chief vs Doomguy 2 (the single most requested remake now Link vs Cloud is out of the picture)
Captain America coming back (has good opponents (Kamen Rider Ichigo would be ideal for me), his main story in the MCU has concluded, there's never been a better time to use him).
Ridley vs Rayquaza (there's been a decent influx of new opponents for both characters (I'm personally an advocate of Ridley vs Vile) so this one's not as likely as it once was
Spiderman coming back (mostly capitalising on Spiderman: No Way Home hype, but I'll say we're about due another Battle Royale).
Omni-Man vs Bardock (capitalises on Invincible viewers, Ben's said that he's not a fan of Omni-Man vs Homelander).
Trunks vs Silver (I feel like I should be more confident in this happen, since on paper it has a lot of stuff going for it, but ... idk, I just don't think it'll happen next season)
Bradley vs Solidus (nothing really working against it, but nothing really pushing it ahead either)

ANY Saitama matchup (Ben's already said his piece on Saitama)
Any Sinestro matchup (not a super recognisable DC character to casuals and most of his matchups are just ... kinda there.

I'd argue a little of the appeal of Terumi/Sinestro is to see Blazblue get properly analysed after the complete train wreck of research Ragna vs Sol got, but it's core appeal IS very much "DC lose, matchup good".

For me it’s that they have absolutely zero connections besides ‘They use fear’ it’s not even like Akuma vs Shao that at least have a theme of “Final Bosses”.

Just a boring match up with a character few people care about to invest. Also I’m pretty sure BB fans would want other match up that’s a lot more hype

Blazblue is...a tough one. From what I remember, MakotoFanboy managed to convince Ultraguy on some portions of it, but they're sure as hell not gonna get immeasurable speeds. Terumi vs Sinestro is possible but lord knows you shouldn't hold your breath for it. It's suuper unlikely. Bill vs Discord is far more likely.

Also I should probably say that you should take what I say with a grain of salt. I'm not involved with this. I'm just friends with peeps in the discussions, and the researchers themselves don't say too much about what's going to happen until after the fact.

If Reimu doesn't feed on Yusuke (which is very possible since Yoh and Ichigo are far more likely) then she's never appearing. Sakuya has her time people but Homura is either getting Kurumi or I-No, most likely (former if it's just base, latter if Akuma Homura remains standard).

As for the matches, Reimu vs Madoka has at least some support behind it (even if I hate it), and Sakuya vs Hit seems most likely based on what I've heard. Neither one gives me confidence in a Touhou W lmao

I also wanna state some things about SMT/Persona matches. I will only list the matches that are likely to happen. If it's not on this list, it's probably not going to happen.

Raidou will likely beat Constantine, but it will be close as all hell.

Demi-Fiend will wreck Spawn.

Lucemon vs Lucifer is close and idk who wins. Also this match is hardcore wishful thinking on my part and tbh is probably unlikely to happen.

Joker vs Giorno...let's just say that there will be massive discourse here.

Kira vs Adachi is close. Both one-shot. Former due to hax, latter due to the raw stomp power gap. It's a matter of speed in which "Jojo numbers go brr", but even then I see Adachi getting results as often as Kira, if not more.

Yu washes Josuke.

Aigis will likely lose to Noel because of the latter's broken immortality.

Squall will surprisingly beat Tatsuya

There's some other matches here and there that get some traction, like the aforementioned Chie vs Mako (which won't happen because Mako's not getting in), or Rise vs Athena Asamiya. I occasionally see Beelzebub vs Giratina, which will never happen but it's a good thought experiment in terms of themes (obvious result is obvious though, much to my chagrin).
