DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (2024–2025) (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

I don't think it's been confirmed one way or the other, but given that in all his apperances that happen after the events of generations he never uses them it's a safe bet it he doesn't have them anymore after beating black doom.
I mean, how often has Shadow even fought after the events of Generation?

Give me a idea for a death battle for a character that was time displaced due to a alternative version of themselves living in their home dimension for too long, get freed by a demon, given evil energy and once freed tried to ruin this alternative version of themselves life and try to kill them, eventually getting so corrupted they become a Demon while fighting their counterpart who's using power from a Angel

However they lost and get humbled, as their alternative counterpart agrees to leave their dimension permanently as they're left In the hands of the friends the alternative self made in their dimension

What the hell is this meant to be
Every matchup submitted in the 24H ballot banter

Anyways...

I'm the one that submitted The Stick Gang VS The Party there, given how the concept of having the strongest Newgrounds animation quintet fight the strongest Newgrounds game quintet actually feels like it can bring amazing potential (Especially since it's actually debatable in contrast to something like Henry Stickmin VS The Second Coming which is one-sided). I know I could've done Leafy VS Anna again, but I'm already satisfied that they got to talk about it twice knowing it's the best BFDI and EBF matchup in my eyes.

Speaking of BFDI, I still don't get the appeal of Battle for Dream Island VS Inanimate Insanity (Which also got submitted in this 24H ballot). I like both shows and all, but the problem with that match (And every BFDI VS II individual matchup in general) is that BFDI is literally a show filled to the brim with comically high levels of wacky toon force on a cosmic scale on top of the chaotic unpredictable strategies the contestants come up with that make them win the challenges, whereas II is a show that's not as wacky as BFDI and more serious and grounded to reality (Akin to that of Total Drama) in contrast to BFDI's wacky and comical tone. Pitting characters from these shows together is literally like pitting Archie Sonic against any non-comic version of Sonic: Literally lackluster in potential and a massive stomp.

This is why I like the idea of Battle for Dream Island VS Epic Battle Fantasy more. I wish more people would talk about that dynamic as opposed to BFDI VS II. As for what dynamic works for II, fittingly enough, Total Drama VS Inanimate Insanity works perfectly by virtue of the 2 series being close to each other in power and matching tones.

Fun fact: I was the one who submitted Battle For Dream Island vs Inanimate Insanity. Admittedly, it was hard deciding what to submit (I had submitted Larryboy vs Bibleman before, and hada bunch of other ideas), but I ultimately went for that one as it felt like it had something of a legacy aspect to it. Those shows are the two pillars of the Object Show Community, and basically created a subgenre of web series, so it just made sense to put them together in a matchup, at least in my opinion.

Wait, you submitted it!?

As much as I respect your opinion, I still don't like that matchup. Both verses have better dynamics with other verses in terms of debatability IMO. It doesn't matter if B was an inspiration of A, it's the fight potential, dynamic, and debatability that matters. The connections feel too broad for my liking anyways, just saying this as someone who is a fan of both shows.

If you want better matchups for the Inanimate Insanity characters, I'd suggest you try characters from Total Drama or Danganronpa, because they're not only a lot fairer, but they're equally grounded while matching certain humor with its cast that makes good potential.

Yeah, you're probably right. I guess I was just viewing it as similar to how people still suggest Mario vs Sonic MUs or DC vs Marvel MUs: a lot of them just have legacy aspect, even if they do end up being stomps a good chunk of the time (heck, BowsEgg implied that BASE Mario is faster than a literal space-time destroying god). At the end of the day, I just wanted to see if I could give a series I enjoy a minute in the spotlight, if that makes any sense. Then again, I was never the best at coming up with MUs in general (for context, one of the other MUs I had considered submitting was Composite Markiplier vs Composite Jacksepticeye).

Tyranids vs The Flood: I hope for mutual annihilation.
Composite Class 3-E vs Composite Class 1-A is a spite stomp, but I wouldn't mind seeing it.
As long as Sephiroth wins the Virgil rematch, I want to see it.
Optimus Prime vs Drago is... interesting.
NOT Goku vs NOT Superman = Who? Composite bootlegs or something?
Dr. Nefarious vs Neo Cortex is yes.
Volo vs Spamton is... what? Why? Who hurt Spamton?
Trazyn the Infinite vs Brainiac.... Could be interesting, even if I've no knowledge who the former is, & so long as it's not so edgy as to be indiscernible darkness.
Nick Fury vs Benjamin Sisko could be fun, but if Sisko has any craft or tech, he probably stomps? Heck, his phaser alone could probably destroy Nick's vehicles.
Rhinox vs Beast would be great.
Amaterasu vs Sakuna.... Eh. No idea who Sakuna is. Explain the matchup?
Eeveelution Battle Royale would be fun.
Someone explain King Clawthorne's opponent, Harvey?
Agent 3 vs Numbuh 1 could be fun.
Asgore vs Minos Prime.... Someone explain Asgore's opponent, please?
MiB vs The Mars Attacks. IDK the latter.

....I am not going over the Rankings, whatever that is. Way too many in that tab.
