DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (2024–2025) (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

what is the consensus on Shulk vs sora anyway?
As a MU? It's a pretty fun fight with great animation, OST and banter potential plus it's very debatable who wins since both can be easily scaled to 2-B with conservative scaling with both reaching tier 1 with more liberal scaling and don't even get me started on the hax (literal BS fate "no you" stuff).

In terms of popularity? I actually don't know, I still believe Shulk Vs Lightning (FF13) has some kind legacy behind it plus Sora has other opponents too iirc.

Yeah Luffy has Toon Force and thanks to Bugs Bunny, Bighead (The Mask) and Popeye it's still one of the most NLF abilities in fiction which draws a lot of ire and salt, so Gear 5 Luffy ended up as the Meg Griffin of the Toon Force users in a few Vs circles for peeps who hate the ability to bully in spite matches (even tho Luffy's current Toon Force is quite minor and has a time limit, in other words actually balanced).

Prefer Shulk vs Stocke for obvious reasons, and Sora is a bit more Rex than Shulk. I would not be upset if Shulk vs Sora happened, though - as we prevent Shulk vs Lightning in this timeline (you already know my stance on that MU, I won't repeat myself)

Square up then, lol

True, it's unfair to compare the newbie to veteran gods among toons

Do you think that all episodes promised in the Kickstarter will be released by the end of 2025? They said that they want to do 1 episode/month at the absolute mininum.

Justin Beiber VS Rebecca Black has been unlisted, nothing of value was lost. I even hate the episode for moral reasons, it is just abysmal dogshit sprite animation and painfully unfunny.
I barely knew Justin Beiber and never heard off Rebecca Black (at the time), I just thought it was dark American nerd culture humour I was thankfully ignorant of. Watched it once, thought it was pitiful and moved on then years later when a few peeps brought it up here, in retrospect we were disgusted that two real life people (that were teens at the time) were treated like that.

Nothing of value was lost indeed.

Not new anyway besides I do not understand the attention to this
Nobody casual or hardcore folks gives a shit about the episodes existence nor do people who despise death battle cares about

I guarantee no one would even acknowledge the episode peeps just shut up about it

Reminds me of a south park episode about how awfully we treat celebrities
