DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (2024–2025) (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

THAT WAS HARD AS F×CK BRO!

Been like a solid hour since the episode, but had to drop in here for like the second time ever and say that episode was absolute peak commentary, peak visuals, peak composition, peak music, peak voice acting, peak animation, peak color design, peak character design, and most of all, peak entertainment.

I don't know much about these two when it comes to scaling them, but I know it's heavily debatable on either side so I refuse to get caught up in the argumentation of who would win.

I loved both these series as a child so just seeing them go at it in such spectacular fashion was all I needed. And man, was that COOL!

Genuinely the best animated episode of Death Battle... Ever? Like, is that a hot take? Maybe I am forgetting something but I am like confused at how good that looked. It looks EXTREMELY professional. It's dynamic, it's fluid, it's everything I'd want from a fight animation. I saw some people complaining that they didn't use every single power up and form--- BUDDY WHAT?? They both have like a million different things dawg chill out this is 1000x more than what I expected, personally.

By the way, the kids survived at the end too. That's peak. So much love in this one.

10/10. Shoot me!

Do yall think his army will be able to revive Eggman after the battle? iirc he did come back from being blown to fireworks
considering all of the time and reality warping this franchise has, I can fully believe Sage being able to figure out some means of reviving Eggman even if it's just as simple as teleporting him out of the fight via time travel

My only dislike for the episode is the lack of Eggman baddassery, Bowser was insane in battle tanking the death egg and stuff but Eggman felt lacking. I really wanted a scene maybe a small one where he genuinly outsmarted or just did something cool alone you know?

Am I alone on this?

You know after this episode, and assuming they didn't need extra time to finish stuff up, I have a question that's been on my mind for the last hour:

Who thought that Omni-Man vs Bardock was the episode to start off the new era of Death Battle compared to Bowser vs Eggman? Like the difference in quality between the episodes, in analysis, research, and the actual battle itself, are like light years apart.

Of course if they released the former first because the latter needed more time to cook in the oven then I completely understand and I won't hold it against DB, but Omni-Man vs Bardock now feels like a firecracker compared to the explosion of fireworks which is Eggman vs Bowser.

Metal sonic unironically carred the match (for eggman team, atleast).

Well Eggman by himself isn't as cool as Bowser by himself, but with his machines and Metal Sonic and Death Egg I felt like he held his own in the coolness department

TBF, it's kinda easier to make the giant kaiju with reality warping look cooler than the literal walking egg. Only a few ways to make Eggman look cool but that could have detracted from the fight itself

Amazing match and I am glad that Bowser won. Bowser, as much as he is a villain, always had his heroic moments. Eggman rarely shows heroism or humanity, at least notably rarer than bowser. Seeing Big B win this fight made me way happier than if Eggman won. Glad the kids are okay too. Still a bit sad we didn't get Dreamy Bowser vs Super Eggman but it is what it is.

I'm going to be honest I've been wanting Eggman to win for the longest time and yet I'm not even mad he lost im more uninterested in the next time more than anything else.

Also, my GOAT Metal cooked throughout the whole fight and even showed the stupid ass King Boo whos boss and that's good enough for me.
Metal got GLAZED bro. He's boss.
