DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (2024–2025) (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Joker just build different ig? Plus their reasoning for Joker winning is actually sensible, unlike OmnimanBardock which had way too many holes in their logic.
I didnt quite follow Jojo, but I was led to believe GER had huge hype. I guess hype died down? There were still some mistakes in analysis, but even that didnt overall cause any real complaints.

We joked about salt but uhh nothing happened for GER losing. Its really weird.

Type 4 acausality also got nerfed recently and no longer inherently grants resistance to causality manipulation too. Type 5 is only type that 100% guarantees resistance to causality now.

In regards to RTZ, you would additionally need a resistance to power nullification as well as causality manipulation in order to truly resist its effects. (And if my CRT goes through, you'll also need to bypass the NEP shenanigans that RTZ does in order to truly beat Giorno)
or just be 5D and above 🤷‍♂️

Probably so, but like, there's nothing really majorly wrong about the analysis, whereas the sundisc was a huge factor for why Omni-Man won.

Omnipotent Orb's description is same in Japanese text, right?
Normally, I think I'd feel clueless, but thankfully, I read the G1 Blog's analysis for the matchup, which was abundantly sourced.

Omnipotent OrbNullifies all attacks except for Almighty. Gives the user the power to freely manipulate the logic and laws of the world.

"A ball that let's you acquire the will to freely determine all of the world's logic (laws)."

Hopefully that scan is helpful.
If anyone knowledgeable in Japanese language wants to double check it, feel free to do so.

I think using Eyes of Heaven to show GER CAN lose, and then explaining how Joker can do it like DIO did helped people accept the result way more if they didn't include it, despite the fact they straight up lied about EOH being written by Araki.

Another factor is prob due to the fact both characters are not as popular as they were several years back while as mentioned it being better example of subjective that folks tried to argue previously

How did JokerGiorno became less controversial than OmnimanBardock??

Joker taking stats was the consensus no matter what end ya have him at, GER was the only thing carrying Giorno in the debate so if ya buy him lol no to GER no one gonna question as long the reasoning is decent

OmniDock reason falls flat just by basic logic and reading Invincible

I definitely think the low number of women on here is totally not contributed to by some of y'all being ****** weird.

Can't wait to get dogpiled again.
I see no lies told
wow, it’s almost like if they get the results right, nobody has a problem.

I’m for one am shocked.
Not even just that five decent explanations that can be understandable to a degree that doesn't scream meth inducing insanity and folks would be fine

Thats another thing, Jojo part 5 anime had hype back in 2018 especially cuz the last 2 eps took longer to be airing after GER showed up on screen with a cliffhanger

Hype wont last long for something and the MU was requested for long yet until now it happened

If the MU happened around let's say between 2020-2022 range I feel there would've been some for salt but it again it happened by the time the hype died

“lied” is a strong word, it is a common misconception/half-truth within the fandom so I am not surprised they perpetuated it

GER isn't as hyped up now since JoJo Part 5's anime ended a while ago. If they did this back then, there might've been more salt.

It's not necessarily a lie, just a very widespread misconception. (Araki actually supervised Eyes of Heaven's plot, which means he approved of the script).

Yeah, exactly. There's also the fact that all of the marketing for the game hyped up Araki's involvement, especially in Japan, so it wouldn't be hard to get a few details mixed up on exactly what he provided for the game's writing.
