DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (2024–2025) (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Thoughts on what other matches they could do from the half of the unrevealed ones?
Luz vs Anne is one given the crew would want to do that before it suffers the Star vs Steven issue tho might be too late on that

Kamen Rider Ichigo vs Cap America
Kira vs Adachi/Giorno vs Joker
Juggernaut vs Archie Knuckles
Whatever capeslop mu left
What M vs DC are there left worth doing?
Azrael vs Moon Knight
Bullseye vs Deadshot
Toei Spider-Man vs Adam West Spider-Man
Could list more but idc for the rest

Is there specific aging feat for Time Stones? Or just general time manipulation ability assumption.
Eggman also undoes all of Sonic's efforts on freeing Little Planet with them in the bad ending.
In the Sonic CD manual. Since it affected living matter like plants and such by turning a desert into a jungle, it's fair to assume it can affect Bowser's army by turning them young or old or anything else. It's less of an assumption than most of Bowser's arguments tbh.

Hmmm yeah I guess that seems plausible.

Tbh I would say under restrictive VS rules I wouldnt give Eggman Time Stones, but since DB is basically gonna give them everything from games it should be fair game.

Yeah, they gave them everything. I think the main difference is most of Eggman's arguments is he using stuff he did in-game, on-screen, in character. Meanwhile most of Bowser's arguments take one thing that was used once and then extrapolating it to high-heavens. Take Boo possession, for example. The argument comes from them possessing statues in Mario Kart, and then extrapolating they will possess all of Eggman's machines out of it. Or that Bowser will steal Eggman's gems as if the Doctor will wave them at Bowser and tell him what they do and that it's important to steal them.

This is why if Bowser will win, I just hope they just make him stronger than Eggman, and don't have him win because of hax. Say Eggman can't beat him, so he has to rely on hax, but when Bowser is pushed into a wall he will use it.

Now I wonder if Bowser vs Eggman or Kratos vs Asura has the potential to cause Ben vs Hal levels of salt.
Kratos vs Asura yes because Loretos versus Featsman. Eggman vs Bowser not really. If you ask someone their top 5 strongest Sonic characters Eggman most likely won't be on the list, meanwhile if you do the same for Mario, Bowser will be. Bowser has always been the favorite in the fight, and as long as Death Battle says "Bowser's army is better because they have a heart, and Bowser can fight by himself while Eggman relies on mechs" people will eat it up.

Casual wise KratosAsura easy if Kratos wins. Maybe BowserEggman outside here for core audience if Eggman wins.

AssToast (Kratos vs Asura) is gonna require DB to really bend themselves over backward to justify Kratos winning to the casual audience. Hoping it goes well, but it'll cause a lot of salt without a doubt. Albeit it's kinda causing its fair share of salt as is.

“You see, Kratos is actually 80 billion times stronger than Asura.”
Shows Asura punching planets and Kratos punching some wolves

pretty much sadly it requires not looking at eggman very deeply to say bowser wins

I think people might be more salty over Metal Sonic/Time Eater losing than Eggman himself, since those two are more respected in versus compared to the good doctor.

Bowser has been looked as the winner for the fight in the community and general audience
on vsbw they'll be salt given how folks tend to meat ride sonic goes and probably some parts of the fanbase but otherwise nothing close to Ben vs Hal
and this
Bowser can fight by himself while Eggman relies on mechs" people will eat it up.

Asura vs kratos is def gonna be to a small extent mainly because Asura shit is blatant vs kratos who relys on lore heavily

i really believe if Lightman Eggman wasn't wasted on a otherworld story and was in a game or animated shit i think peeps would side with eggman more given he matched super sonic in power there

the cognitive dissonance gonna hit like crack

I've said this before and I'll say it again: as long as they make Kratos Universal and they don't make a complete mockery when it comes to researching him, I'll be fine with an Asura W.

Such absurd feats, too bad that they weren't enough to get Asura a sequel

Out of curiosity: were there any strong reactions to Death Battle using lore to justify Dragonborn's stats against Chosen Undead? Because dependent on that, I can't really see DB using lore for Kratos' stats to be that controversial

Yeah, this is true. Super Eggman was always a meme, so canon Super Eggman would shift the debate a lot if he wasn't stuck to a Japanese exclusive short novel story. Which is a shame, because he's genuinely OP, and the only counter-arguments against him is just Bowser stealing the Ruby.

The difference is that they did it for both CU and Dragonborn. And from a non “muh lore” perspective, Dragonborn’s feats still look more impressive than CU’s so him winning wasn’t that controversial.

They pointed it as obvious as possible they need to see lore to rate them and not gameplay which doesnt do justice

If casuals dont wanna understand that, they aint smart to begin with, most who react to death battles have really bad memory or dont count some stuff, like a certain group doubted wick losing, forgetting tho bond had equipments that more then make up for it, that his opponent was taken by surprise even in animation

not to mention it was basically can Dragonborn fully put him down long enough for the W

Casuals didnt think CU was muh cosmic, so him losing was fine. They probably just "whatever I guess" for given stats in CUvsDB. Kratos already is deemed as "not cosmic".

A bit late, but the Ben 10 franchise is connected officially to Secret Saturdays and Generator Rex. Secret Saturdays share the same Earth as Ben 10, (but are a secret group, hence unknown until OV), and Generator is connected in the multiverse, as it takes place in a different reality.

I still wonder how Death Battle will take Asura and the Naraka sequence in the final episode. It still confuses me a little on the specifics of it. Like, golden guy Chakravartin shatters his event horizon, sending the both of them to Naraka, and Asura flies through it, punching Chakravartin, but he looks to be a flat plane as everything shatters, returning the both of them to the event horizon.
