I remember there was one writer who tried to make Punisher seem stupidly OP. As in, he basically had a counter for every major Marvel character at the time. Don't know the full details, but apparently the whole thing was really stupid.

From what I know he has a massive hate boner for superheroes (save for Superman) and adores the military. And is the guy kind of guy has a "I like it then it's awesome, I don't then it sucks" code. So it comes up a lot in his work.

I’m happy to know that the team also know Yujiro stomps homelander. So it would pretty much be diet Omni man vs Homelander where homelander only advantage is that he has flight and heat vision.
