DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (2024–2025) (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Honestly, the current Asura characterization is fine. Its cliched, but it functions. Im not too fond of trying to do sympathetic in DB fights, but hero vs hero fights often miss with setups and are usually ehhh and frankly its not even the worst in DB.

...Storyboards Asura on the other hand would have been the single worst characterization in DB had they stuck to that like, god damn lmao

And Kratos harmed Titan mightier then that one or gods mightier then Helios, it doesnt matter, if the gap between gods and titans wasnt given it would be a different story
Then focus on those are easier to get the point across than a guy who got crippled by a sneak attack

He would still need to have the strength to prevent the squashing, also Hercules held the cosmos like Atlas and guess who beat him, Kratos did
We never got full on confirmation on Hercules feat let alone him mentioning doing the same feat outside implications
Kratos stopping him from killing is decent enough to justify the feat the rest not so much

The son beating the father in gow was established since start, all this questioning is ridiculous
It's not when we when we didn't see how the fight went down and even if it wasn't DB didn't present in a believable manner beyond trust me bros

It all comes down to presentation which DB didn't do a very good job at

Oh hey, the smirk had some origin huh

Yeah, they should have added that Kratos beat the primordial God of Death Thanatos, defeated Zeus who managed to become fear itself, defeated Garm who eat concepts like the 5th season and Thor punching snek back in time.

Also seriously not use Helios scenes directly cause Kratos itself killing Helios doesnt really support speed stuff that well lol

Hell if we're talking about Greek speed feats: why didn't they scale Kratos to people like Atropos? The fact that Kratos can evade and tag the Sisters of Fate, who are required to micromanage and be extremely precise with the threads of fate, which are stated in Ragnarok to span all of life and time, in combat sounds far more credible in terms of speed scaling then just Helios.

Honestly I'd get behind most people who don't think Kratos scales that high if their arguments were better. There are people that think the primordials aren't actually universal in size due to stuff like Ceto being small enough for her body to become the oceans or that stars in the greek world aren't that big given the sun is actually the temple of helios in their world so the stars being punched outta Uranus aren't that impressive either, which is fine, but 90% of the people who disagree with these just basically say "no it doesn't count" and leave it at that.

Uhh they actually blatantly say that Kratos having multiple ways to absorb Mantra is major reason he was given versatility. Do you mean the fact that it seems Asura would resist such absorptions in some Reddit posts?
