DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (2024–2025) (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Same applies to Cell, really. He's the weakest Z villain now and his time in glory was losing to a 9 year old.
9 year old who was the strongest of the saga of the time and had a moment that's one of the franchise iconic moments
Cell is also a cheap jobber who was only relevant once and then became a base form victim.
Thing is we don't see Cell job to base form characters post cell and above unlike metal 🗿

In short cell death saves his ass Unironically in terms of rep where metal folks question him Scaling to modern shit despite the fact by logic he supposed to be but he has Ian writing him

Ian literally had Modern Neo beat Sonic's ass. Modern Neo>>>Metal Overlord.

The most impact Cell left was that "Goku was a bad dad" meme
Cell had a big impact what you talking, he made goku sacrifice himself and was dead in buu saga till a certain point

Nearly killed Trunks and injured Vegeta badly twice, was unstoppable against all the Z fighters except Gohan once he went ssj2

When he got a zenkai he messed his arm and was close to winning their beam clash several times, needed Vegeta to distract him

You act like Cell wasnt a big deal, even the androids whom Trunks originally came to deal with in present were reduced to a lower threat once his existence came into play

You know I'm surprised that DB didn't try capitalizing on the hype of Sonic x Shadow Generations and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 by having a episode starring Shadow. And I get that Shadow has appeared three times in DB and people wouldn't want someone to appear a fourth time, but it seems weird not to strike where the iron was hot by trying to wove in a Shadow episode at the time of Shadow Generations' release.

It may have been scheduling reasons, so I can't entirely fault them. But seeing as how Sonic x Shadow Generations was announced at the end of January, I'm sure something could've been planned out to get in the hype.

So he's even more fodder.
Hope you realize any character if proven or stated to surpass past heroes or villains are fodder to, what is this logic?

Raditz had no relevance since Z, Nappa neither or either of the Z movie villains existent up to Cell and they are far weaker, Cell is among some of the strongest Z villains not back in later sequels

Body switch aint shit, reminder Vegeta kicked his ass in Goku body, that was useful only to get beat by an opponent and then pull a switch and have his foe stuck in his wounded body
Actually in Togama's case it was strong lol. Unlike the time on Namek it's directly stated that Ginyu made his body  stronger than before.

We even have Ginyu on the solar system level on his profile

Yeah, but he was stronger than Tagoma in Tagoma's body.

Yeah, I know, I'm clowning on Cell because he's overrated and it's funny.

Not fully sure Ginyu should be 4-B lol, but he's definitely way stronger than Base Gohan, who's definitely stronger than Shin.

Come on, man. If casuals don't give a shit about Aang vs Traveler, I'm highly skeptical people are going to care about Scarlet Nexus.

I mean I'm thinking more scaling and relations. I don't think getting past cases of 'literally who?' is as hard as people want to think it is

At least people have less of an active bias against Scarlet Nexus than against Genshin

PLAY SCARLET NEXUS IT'S PEAK FICTION

Is there a specific reason why people have a bias against Genshin? Is it because of usual mobile predatory tactics or is it for other reasons?
I have a few things against Genshin, and its kinda just an amalgamation of stuff.

Predatory tactics obviously, I'm not a fan of how much they milk and reuse characters in their franchise by just putting a new coat of paint and acting like it's a completely new character, 100 GB for a mobile game is crazy, not crazy about the high levels of Waifu/Husbando bait, and I just honestly think the game is mid

I agree with you. And from my own personal experience? Having to level up to a certain level in order to access co-op, a feature that's usually available at the start of other games, is also horse shit as well.

Like who does that? Who locks access to a common feature in most games of Genshin's type until you reach a certain point?

Genshin is a game I know I'd really like with more time, but I avoid microtransaction stuff on principle. That, and A) I really don't feel like giving the origin of the commie cough my money where I can help it, and B) something about the PR this game got on release made it feel like one of those game where 'it's too late for me to join', both in story, and in-meta powercreep.

Good to know fan artists are eating though.

Oh yeah, additional reasons for my bias against it. Those ads were everywhere back in the day and were annoying also I just don't like the Genshin fan base, yall weird

Unfortunately mobile game ads have only deteriorated and became actual horny bait as time has gone on

It's a gacha game, but they give out free characters. You can beat the whole game without spending a single dime.
