No seriously, that's what the tcb fan translations say.

Tekking brought this up in the review, but it is interesting how Oda is basically showing us (through Charlos) that violence won't stop someone from being prejudiced.

Charlos has gotten his ass whooped THREE whole times because of his racist and ignorant dumbass, but not once does he try to change his prejudiced way of thinking. Of course part of it is because he's an idiot, but I do think that this might be Oda trying to tell us that trying to break down these forms of prejudice with violence and harm doesn't work, at least not truly. If you beat up a racist for being a racist, they might likely be less vocal and expressive about it afterwards, but they'll still hold these prejudiced thoughts deep down, and most likely they'll worsen from the resentment.

Mjosgard in turn is a perfect example of how to truly change a persons prejudiced beliefs and make them a better person (or at least a method that actually will change who they are, unlike violence). Instead of being assaulted and killed for his flawed perspectives and threats, he is instead spared and saved by the people he once looked down upon, giving him insight into the idea that there's more to a person (in this case a race) compared to his preconceived notions and beliefs of them, allowing him to begin appreciating those he once looked down upon in a new, untainted light.

Of course I'm not saying that Charlos shouldn't get his ass beat, just that beating him up isn't gonna make him stop being a racist, classist, douche (which in turn applies to real prejudiced people).

This seems to be the same argument as Batman's "If I kill the Joker, the total number of murderers remains the same" - which is an entirely nonsensical argument
If the racist is also a murderer who enslaves people (Charlos), then you're right, but if the prejudiced person is just that grumpy annoying old man next door, then yeah, the non racist would be a murderer for killing him.

I'm just saying that Oda is showing us that violence isn't the key in changing a person and their skewed perceptions, and if you're saying that murder is another proper solution, then that's a whole other dilemma.

Besides, death wouldn't change that person, it would just mean the end of them, which is not what I'm arguing.

I mean yeah, obviously

I think most people are capable of change and self-improvement but there are some that are clearly too far gone

Honestly that is quite emotional to show that through tiger aswell as when he is in his deathbed, he realizies that otohime's ways are right.

I wonder if the revs will spare Msjorgard, considering sabo might actually have his will be kill (and I mean KILL all celestial dragons) honestly, quite poetic for him to die to akainu but as a two way street.
