"And if you actually brought her along... Your sister, I mean... Do you think you would've been able to protect her?" Valkiria asked softly.
"....I....I...." Charlotte trailed off.

"She...she could've...s-stayed on the ship...away f-from combat. I-I could've kept her away...f-from fighting! W-we...w-we could've had a life...together..." She murmured.

"She...she could've...s-stayed on the ship...away f-from combat. I-I could've kept her away...f-from fighting! W-we...w-we could've had a life...together..." She murmured.
"And how long do you think you could've maintained that?" Valkiria asked, "How long do you think it would've taken for an enemy many, many times stronger than you to kill her?"

"I am merely suggesting that better lodging could've been provided, that is all." The grey-haired soldier said with a tone that displayed what seemed to be genuine, at least
"No, I'm not saying this is bad or anything, I really don't care where I sleep" Rex said trying to apologize if he sounded rude

"......." Charlotte stared at the women for a moment.

"....I....." She began. She took a shaky breath, looking back towards the ground.

"...I...don't know..." She said quietly.

"I get that, Charlotte... But if you keep running off and isolating yourself you'll never get your revenge." Valkiria said, "This isn't the time to sulk..."

"A-Alright, let's calm down now, your heart sounds like it's about to explode...!" Elis exclaimed in worry.
Olorin breathed in and out "I... um..." Olorin murmured with some breath

Valkiria let out a sigh.

"Look, Charlotte, ultimately, the universe sucks lots and lots of ass... You couldn't have protected your sister forever. I know you may not think that, and you may not take my words to heart, but... It's true. I'd... I'd know." Valkiria said, just breathing out in her attempts to comfort Charlotte.
Olorin breathed in and out "I... um..." Olorin murmured with some breath
"I'm... sorry about that... I guess I should refrain from compliments..." Elis murmured, scratching her head.

"I... I'm just not used to... receiving them..." Olorin murmured, Relama genuinely laughing on the other side of the wall

Charlotte remained silent for a long moment, simply staring at the ground.

"...Does the pain...ever go away?" Charlotte asked quietly, she looked up at Valkiria, tears running down her face.

The grey-haired soldier nodded, snapping her fingers as a holographic map appeared.

"The operation itself is simple... A cultist base is located a few kilometers North of our base, and we wish to destroy it. We have reasons to believe that the leader of this particular sect is also hiding in this base to orchestrate what we believe to be an Eclipse... Indicated by the amount of hostages we located in the base through satellite." She explained, "That is the gist of the situation. We do not know the number of enemies we will be facing, or their species or strength. You will be provided with backup."

"...I don't think so, Charlotte." Valkiria said, "I really don't think so... I think most of the time you have to live with the pain.. and fight through it, until you get your revenge. Honestly, I don't think revenge makes it go away... Regardless, you just have to fight through it... And do what you have to do. Sulking won't solve anything."
"I... I'm just not used to... receiving them..." Olorin murmured, Relama genuinely laughing on the other side of the wall
"Alright..." Elis said, breathing out in some relief.

Charlotte said nothing for a few moments, before breathing out.

"...Bet...she'd hate to see me like this." She murmured. Slowly, she moved off the wall she'd been leaning on.

"...You're....you're right, Valkiria. I...I know that. I...I can't...do this forever..." She said.

"...It...it isn't right. Not to...the people who care about me...and not...not to her..." She said softly. She trembled slightly, wiping some of the tears from her face.

(I need everyone barring Midas and Reaper to exist lmao.)
"Ah..." Olorin murmured embarassedly
Timcanpy finished cooking, bringing out a large tray of pepperoni, garlic, and olive pizza, which Elis clearly found to be a weird combination.

"It is hot, please be careful." Timcanpy said.

"Good... We don't have much time until the operation, so, it's best we move back to the room so we can hear the plan..." Valkiria said.

”Going in with so much unknown makes me uneasy. Especially when going after an enemy on their turf. Although we don’t really have the luxury of time so I guess that’s to be expected.” Phares said looking at the hologram. He was used to preparing extensively before any of his jobs. He liked having plans for an many outcomes as possible. Unfortunately for him these missions always seemed to have time limits.

"I understand that, sir... Which is why I would like you to be the one to help infiltrate the inside of the base, with me, and someone else skilled in infiltration and such..." The grey-haired soldier said, "Only if you accept being right in the belly of enemy territory, at least."

Charlotte glanced at the women. Slowly, she breathed out.

"…time to get to work…" she thought.

"… I've infiltrated a few buildings during some of my jobs. I'm...not a stealth specialist like Phares...but I could provide back-up if needed." She said.

“That’s fine with me. I’m used to that kind of situation by now,” he says confidently. “Whatever we can find out will be better then nothing.”

"Elis will probably freak out when she hears the idea..." Adrian murmured, his arms crossed as he leaned against the wall.

"Brownie could do it too, he can shrink and suppress his aura, he has good senses that will tell him when someone moves, even from a great distance, as well as being fairly silent and fast, he has no scent and it's pretty sure he could camouflage himself in the places with poor lighting, He literally managed to get behind us without any of us noticing even with a house size, I think he has everything for this job" Rex proposes while scratching the dog's head

"More help would be much appreciated, yes." The grey-haired warrior, turning to Brownie for what seemed to be a microsecond before turning away.

(Uh, I'll just acknowledge that she's coming lol.)

"So it's Phares, Brownie, and Charlotte that are going in? Neat, I guess... And what about us on the outside?" Adrian asked XP-140.

"Those who decide to stay out will help deal with the main guard, and then can go in once those on the inside have exterminated a sufficient amount of cultists so that they can infiltrate as well... We will need all the manpower we can get to take on the leader, so we can't leave you all out forever." She responded.

"That sounds like a plan... I'll stay outside, then..." Valkiria murmured.

"Did Rex not just explain the dog's abilities?" The grey-haired soldier asked, tilting her head in confusion at Charlotte's question.

"Charlotte probably doesn't want to take care of Brownie" Rex said, replying to grey-haired soldier

"Yes, I'm sure, and what about you?, I'm not saying it for your skill, but rather of your emotional state?" Rex asked Charlotte

"...That ain't what I mean." She said, breathing out.

"...discipline is what I’m worried about here. Will the dog actually stick to the mission and not…get distracted?”

"Charlotte probably doesn't want to take care of Brownie" Rex said, replying to grey-haired soldier

"Yes, I'm sure, and what about you?, I'm not saying it for your skill, but rather of your emotional state?" Rex asked Charlotte
"...Drop it Rex. I'm fine." Charlotte said bluntly, shaking her head.

"It is not as if it is necessary for the mission. We have you and Phares and I. It can stay outside." The grey-haired soldier said, just staring at Charlotte with a smile... But it was a weird smile. It seemed copied, rehearsed, even.

"Don't worry, he has enough common sense to not get distracted by basic things like food or toys on a mission like this one" Rex said.

Brownie looked at Charlotte, his facial expression showing motivation to accomplish this mission.
