"Besides, we have exhaust ourself, we probably don't have enough stamina left to even keep going so let's hope for the best." Says Ryu.

I always thought it was suspicious, he seems to have all information regarding this planet, he definitely have some sort of connection or a power at least, everyone is tired from a big fight and he says that we need to follow him? Who exactly is this man? Does he know that there's some dark power on the move before? There's too many variables.... Thought Ryu

The man would lead the group to the edges of the trashy city they were in, leading them to a place that seemed to be some sort of port due to how clear it was of muck or garbage. The man turned to the group.

"Your distrust is apparent. I can tell from a mile away, but, I'm not here to hurt you. In fact, I'm here to make you a proposal, along with giving you your reward money..."

"Well you're right we can't trust you." Says Ryu as he's still supported by Charlotte for walking.

"But you knew about that ominous man before didn't you?" Says Ryu about the commander from the battle earlier.

The man with the mask was not too amused or responsive, "I'm asking before it's too late. Yes, I did know about the commander, and this attack, which is why I'm giving you an opportunity. All of you. Yes, even you, Rex. I can help you... But I'll be blunt that you don't have much time to make a decision."

"Wh-What are you talking about...? Who even are you?" Elis asked, shaking a bit as she noticed an enormous ship lowering itself down from the sky and onto the huge clearing.

"I was pushing my luck just gathering you for this job, so hopefully, you'll listen..."

The man with the mask chuckled at Phares's annoyance, "I'll get to the point, these calamity attacks aren't random. They're targeted. Specifically against, I don't know, but, I gathered you all because I knew you were capable. Capable of helping me, and saving lives. Cause if it wasn't yet obvious, I don't actually work for the Empire."

"Y-...You don't...?" Elis was now afraid and trembling hard.

"This is something you pick up from experience, so who do you work for? Or are we about to find out?" Kentoria asked, heavily implying she already knew he didn't work for the empire

"Mmmm it will be possible" Rex thought with a frown, remembering what he saw in the battle that happened, thousands of them that tortured him but didn't kill him, is it possible that calamities feed on the pain of living beings?

"Don't be too hasty miss Charlotte." Says Ryu.

"I figured you're not from the empire, they don't care about this slum planet, but I haven't figured out who exactly are you?" Says Ryu

"Aint the first time I've had a deal gone south. I'm not taking chances with some freak in a mask" Charlotte snapped at Ryu, her hand unmoving from her blade.

"Should've known this was too good to be ******* true..." she spat.

(Poke)

"Look look, try and kill me if you want, but I'm giving you a chance to both save lives... In the billions, hell, in the trillions, while also getting the hell out of this place. Trust me, if I wanted to harm you, or trick you, you'd be both dead and dumb." The man said to Charlotte as he walked into the ship slowly.

Elis scratched her tattoo as she slowly, very slowly, followed him. "S-So... You don't mean to harm us...?"

"No, I don't. And Phares, I'll share everything with you, but I first need hostilities to drop." The man said, referring to Charlotte.

"....Alright, we don't have much choice anyway, I also curious about more informations about calamities." Says Ryu as he drop his hostility towards the man a little.

"Take it from someone who's dealt with her fair share of corrupt and asshole contractors, if he wanted to attack or ambush us, he'd have done it as soon as we arrived here, out of the way." Kentoria said, clearly not liking it either but trusting her intuition

Could he really accept? damn it was a difficult decision no one help him except that guy who took him out of the trash and gave him clothes, since then he hasn't taken them off although partly also because he doesn't have another.

"You know that if I feel the slightest vibration of danger you will have a horrible beating" Rex said

"Take it from someone who's dealt with her fair share of corrupt and asshole contractors, if he wanted to attack or ambush us, he'd have done it as soon as we arrived here, out of the way." Kentoria said, clearly not liking it either but trusting her intuition
"You aren't the only one who's dealt in the underworld. Don't try to lecture me like you're some grand authority..." Charlotte spat. She stared at the masked man for a moment, before shaking her head, removing the knife from her hand as she glared at him.

"....You do anything out of line, and I'll send you back to this port in a body bag..." she muttered.

Phares had done jobs on other’s behalf before and he developed a sense for people tricking him or leading him into traps. ”If this was a trap it probably would’ve already been sprung by now,” he said mostly to himself.

"Will you two shut the hell up!?" Elis shouted, her voice filled with nervousness and fear, but also annoyance and frustration. "...Charlotte... I don't trust him either... But keep your complaints to yourself for a bit, yeah...? We're not being forced to hear him out... Besides, why are you so worried about what we do if we apparently don't know each other...?"

Charlotte stared at Elis for a few moments. She opened her mouth as if to speak, but closed it, shaking her head. She was right, it wasn't like she knew the girl. So why was she trying to convince them?

She shook her head, grabbing one of her cigarettes and hastily lighting it, trying to calm her nerves.

"....Forget it." She said quietly.

The man in the mask would sigh. This wasn't at all going as planned, and it was clearly so. "Will you listen, Charlotte?"

Elis calmed herself down, sticking with Kentoria as she followed the man into the quite technologically advanced spaceship, obviously extending far enough to house multiple facilities such as bedrooms, kitchens, personal training facilities, and much more. It was obviously quite expensive, and it'd cost more money than this man with the mask seemed to have. They were currently in the center of the ship, the bridge door slowly closing behind the group as the man sat down at a round-table, akin to the one in the weird garbage base he had, and there were no other chairs until a few of them manifested for them to sit down in if they so pleased.

"W-Woah... Fancy..." Elis murmured.

"First, as promised, your money." The man said, snapping his fingers as stacks and STACKS of money manifested behind him, so much that it was pretty much impossible for them to carry. "Take as much as you want, whatever, you can't carry it all anyway."

Charlotte walked towards the stack of money, thumbing through them as she tried to determine if they were forgeries. Satisfied that they were real, she quietly began stuffing the cash into her suit, filling both of her pockets. Walking back towards the table, she took a seat, sighing as she put her chin in her hand, looking at the man expectantly.

Kentoria did quick math in her head, taking exactly one sixth(or whatever fraction) of the money into her dimensional storage, not exactly sure what was next
