Kiara would trot throughout the area, looking through a multitude of doors to find a place to train. She visited multiple dimensions, looking for a place that had weights capable of actually pushing her without David's gravity. As she searched, she would consistently practice her breathing, softly trembling as she walked.
"Calm down, Kiara... Calm down." She thought to herself as she stopped at one of the doors, following the smell of iron and smoke. She gently placed her hand on the knob and opened the door, moving into the dimension.
"Calm... down."
As she entered the dimension, she looked up, realizing that she had entered a gym with similar construction to the one that she and David had worked out in. The differences were found in the fact that the weights were far, far larger, and the number of facilities was far more plentiful than in the gym that she and David had trained in. Assuming that something like this was found in the Real World, Kiara thought that only really hardcore athletes would come to places like this. She shook her head.
"Haa...." Kiara breathed out once more. "Welp, everyday is leg day I guess..."
Kiara moved through the facility, moving to find a sizeable barbell. The barbell squat technique that David had taught her flashed throughout her mind. She remembered it in abnormal detail. She remembered how exactly he gripped the barbell, how the bones and muscles in his hand moved, contracted, how the blood in his body moved throughout his body, to his legs and arms. She remembered the feeling of it within her body, how to rearrange her musculature to imitate his movement, how to breathe to adjust her blood flow, everything down to the last cell, down to the last atom and quark. She remembered it all.
Kiara, after a few minutes of walking, would locate the weight that she was looking for, or well, she'd locate the weight but with enough weight. To put it lightly, she wanted to go bigger than usual, so she was moving to find the barbell with the heaviest weights she could find within the facility. If she had to put her current lifting strength into numbers, she estimated that she could lift 50,000 to 100,000 tons at this point, so she searched for something around 5-10x that. And she did.
The barbell itself wasn't very large, in fact, from a glance Kiara could tell that the iron that formed the weights had been compressed immensely, meaning it possessed far more weight than one would assume simply from looking at it. If she had to guess, just from putting her hands on it, it was about 9x her current lifting capacity, which, in honesty, was perfect for what she was looking for. Kiara shook her head, beginning to pump herself up.
"Alright, let's do this..."
She would move under the weight, which was still propped up on the weight rack so she didn't have to lift it up just yet. She got into position, breathing in, and breathing out, her heart pumping blood throughout her body at an optimal rate, heating up her body and causing her muscles to instinctively tighten. This process took around 2-3 seconds as she situated her grip on the bar, once again breathing in and out as she then situated her footing, as she began to try and lift it.
Obviously, she was unsuccessful in her endeavors to lift the barbell. It was far to heavy for her to lift it off of the rack with her current strength, causing her to stop exerting force, taking a short breather. Her hair drooped over her eyes a bit as she stopped exerting force, standing up straight once more.
"Haaa.... Alright, one more time."
Kiara thought to herself, before bending down once more, placing her hands on the bar again. Repeating her physical preparations once more, she once again attempted to lift the barbell. This time, she was able to lift it a bit off the rack, allowing her to gently roll it off the rack. Once she had gotten it off the rack, though, the full weight was immediately exerted onto her, causing her to nearly fall down.
"O-Ooh...!! Alright...! This was a bad idea...!"
Kiara visibly struggled to lift the barbell upward, her perfect stance beginning to collapse as she nearly fell to her side. Before she could completely tumble over, though, she shifted her weight ever so slightly, tightening her core as she kept herself from tilting over as she planted her feet into the ground. Kiara's face went red as she breathed out.
"Push... Push... Just like your giving birth again... Ugh, I don't wanna remember that..."
Kiara would very, very slowly begin to push herself upward, gently lifting the weight. Her muscles shifted, compressed themselves, and tightened as she moved, standing up straight as she completed a single rep. Her legs trembled, but, she was slowly getting used to the weight, shifting and tightening her muscles to make sure that her stance remained straight and true. Saying nothing, Kiara would begin to lower herself to complete another rep, trembling as she did so, eventually bending her knees optimally. Her back was straight, and her butt was pointing outward. Everything was going as it should. Slowly, she moved upward, her chest and her arse moving back into position at the same speed, completely in tandem.
She would soon complete another rep as she continued to get used to the immense weight that the barbell exerted onto her, her face still red from exertion. She breathed in, and then breathed out, in, and out... As she worked out, continuing to complete slow, arduous reps, she could feel herself calming down, drifting away.
"Haaa... Haa..."
In a way, it made her forget her problems, working out, that is. In this moment, she wasn't focusing on anything else but improving herself, making herself stronger, more attractive, etc. She was working towards an ideal, a better Kiara... There was no need to feel bad.
"Ha... Haa.."
She wanted to feel more powerful, more in control of herself. She didn't want to be in a state of mind in which her emotions could dominate her, where they could make her feel worthless, hold her back from improving herself, or from being with her friends or family. She wanted to be calm. To be in control.
"I... am... fine."
She was fine. She knew that she was fine. There was no reason to be worried about her, or to comfort her, because she was completely fine. She had everything under control. She was happy.
"I'm... fine."
And as she continued to complete her reps, continued to train her muscles, she knew that was true. She knew that, right? She had to be happy. She had to be calm... She couldn't cause anymore problems. These Lostbelts were nothing! They couldn't bring her down anymore. She'd get stronger, and stronger, and they'd all get out of this fine.
"Fine..."
They'd all be fine. She knew that.
"...We'll... be... fine."
Completely, and utterly fine.
"Calm down, Kiara... Calm down." She thought to herself as she stopped at one of the doors, following the smell of iron and smoke. She gently placed her hand on the knob and opened the door, moving into the dimension.
