Ragnarök-RP Thread

"What an annoyance..." Okita thought as she felt her blade glide against David as he nullified the cut, clicking her tongue as she immediately spun on the sole of her feet, releasing a violent burst of speed and avoiding the burst of gravity... Or well, partially. She needed some more speed, lots of it.

"Increase my weight..."

Okita didn't completely avoid the burst of gravity, no, she allowed herself to get just barely outside the area of effect, allowing the burst to hit her barely as she removed her weightlessness. Usually, this would do nothing but send her back, but, now that she possessed weight, even if a little, she could manipulate the force of her movement, the kinetic energy, to increase her speed drastically if only for a split-second. She used the burst of gravity, along with her kinetic energy manipulation, to propel herself in the direction she desired, which was to the wall in front of David, then to the one to his side, then back to the one behind, gathering speed as she kicked off the material and then went back to cut into his back with newfound speed, assuming the plan was successful as she immediately made herself weightless once more to further increase her speed and power.
.David closed his eyes, taking an inward stance as he shut off his senses. Over the battle, he had been slowly adapting, his body subtly altering itself to deal with such an intense barrage of blows. But...his body would never catch up with such an abnormally fast opponent. Normally, anyway. But...David had another ability. Every cut Okita had made, every slice, was imprinted into David's skin, leaving a lingering impression on his body even long after the wound itself had been healed. He slowly combined the knowledge of her attack he had received, and the adaptations he had already gained...and immediately plugged that information into his muscle memory. Hardwiring his body to respond to Okita's attacks on reflex, thus boosting his own reaction speed towards her attacks. As Okita bounced off the wall toward David again, he opened his eyes, combining his reaction speed with his newfound reflexes to shift his body just enough to make the attack not hit its mark, the attack cutting into his skin, but completely missing any vital areas.

Immediately after the cut landed, he would whirl around, slamming his foot into the ground and erecting a thick barrier in front of him made of forward gravity, which would violently push Okita way if she tried to rush into it.

"I guess now we'll go back to base. You probably need to rest from all the work you did in the city today or do you have something to do now?" Jack said to Masayoshi with a smile.
Masayoshi said nothing for a few moments.

"You go on ahead, Rex. I'm...going to start my training." She said, sighing as she began to hover in the air. She had taken Gabriel's words to heart, and knew now that she couldn't afford to slack off.

Cullthane sighed, he was still unhappy with Metatron, but he wasn't about to snap out at him right now, just sighing and looking for Gabriel for a moment before remembering he couldn't see her, merely sighing out and spreading his senses to try and detect an area she'd likely be, and did so, teleporting to the building top and sitting down there

Okita clenched her teeth, breathing strangely as she closed her eyes. Okita, in comparison to David, was incredibly fast, and thus, she could see most if not all of his movements in slow motion, and even with his new reaction speed, her perception of his movements still made it seem as if he was moving decently slow. She realized he had erected a wall of gravity around himself, knowing she couldn't force herself through it... With her current speed, anyway. She was only a few moments from hitting the barrier, she could feel it, she was getting ready to come into contact with it. If she dashed away, she could pick up speed, yes, but the man's durability was abnormal, and she knew he was getting stronger to adapt to her attacks.

"I need to move faster..." She thought to herself.

In the split second, before she was about to touch the barrier of gravity, she optimized everything she could. She breathed, increasing her blood flow to allow her to maximize her physical strength even if she couldn't gain muscle mass. She reinforced her body with Qi, but, she also reinforced her weapon to prepare itself for the force she was about to create and the force she was about to create. She applied all of her kinetic energy to forward momentum to maximize her strength even more, and with supreme accuracy, she shot through his gravity barrier, slashing at him and nearly cutting him in half if successful. Gabriel was in the rooms of one of the buildings, honing her spells. She weaved various runes and sigils in the air, each more complex than the last as she continued attempting to increase the amount of information she could process, adding more combinations, mixtures of spells, to her Lore of Magic, The Lore of the Heavens, sighing in frustration.

"What am I missing...?" She murmured as she practiced.

"The hell...?" David thought in surprise. He was counting on Okita moving around the barrier, thus allowing him to catch her as she maneuvered....but this was utterly beyond his expectations. But, he wasn't discouraged by this sudden burst in strength. He was far too slow to move his body out of the way...but he could still do something. He shifted all of his organs at the last moment, shifting everything his body needed to function to the upper part of his body. He propelled his torso upward at the, completely separating the two parts of his body as she cut through him. The blood congealed and hardened to prevent himself from bleeding out.

If Okita were to let her guard down, even for a moment after she had slashed him. David's legs would immediately launch a fierce kick to the back of her head, David's control of body control being so great that even when his body was separated, he could freely control it, which he counted on Okita not expecting.

Jack sighed and then yelled at Masayoshi

"I hope you don't overexert yourself too much"
Masayoshi reached out to him telepathically.

"...I know my limits, Jack. You don't need to worry about me." She said. She walked into one of the abandoned houses on the outskirts, magic beginning to envelop her body as she prepared to honed her power.

Okita clearly did not expect David to manipulate his body even when the two halves were separated, but, regardless, she was unhindered, not even losing a bit of speed, she swirled around the two halves of his body, slashing at both parts from all directions as she breathed heavily, clearly exerting herself, but, luckily, in this spar, she wasn't fighting two equally if not more skilled opponents, and thus, she could keep going without harming herself.
"You'll find out... there." Cullthane said, pulling out a white book, the original of light magic, to give to Gabriel in order to help her see what was wrong
Gabriel flipped the paper around, writing something else on it.

"Thanks!" The paper said as Gabriel telekinetically grabbed the book, immediately opening it and beginning to thoroughly read it.

Okita's blades rapidly cut David's skin, various slashes appearing on his legs and torso, but he was far from finished. David's legs suddenly erupted in dozens of thick, jagged, spears made of bone that would rapidly extend outward in random and unpredictable directions, stabbing into Okita if successful. David knew, however, That Okita was likely to dodge. The moment she moved away from the spikes extending from his legs, He would launch his torso forward with a burst of gravity, extending his arms and attempting to grab onto Okita the moment she dodged.

The writing was strange, close to the Lore of Heavens but having something different to it, it was clear that the text itself wasn't a good deciphering point, even if it was informative on light magic in general, perhaps there was something more to study in the lore...

Okita was able to effortlessly deflect and cut through these blades with her speed and skill, dodging some and cutting through or deflecting others, jumping away as she saw his torso hurdling towards her, able to use her speed and perception to narrowly avoid being grabbed as she tried to carve into his chest while doing so, her speed and strength still not wavering.

Gabriel continued reading the book, clearly immersed in the words, but particularly, their meaning, and how she could translate them into her own Lore, slowly forgetting that Cullthane was even there...

"The writings of the lore are all fine, but, the devil is in the details as they say." Cullthane said, trying to advise and teach Gabriel
Gabriel was clearly too immersed in reading to listen to or respond to Cullthane, clearly enjoying doing so, flipping through the pages as she tried to analyze as many details as she could, feeling supremely relaxed by the act of reading as she crossed her legs on the bed.

The blad cleaved into his chest, blood flowing from his body and coating her blade. However...he had countered on the women cutting him at such close range. The moment the blade cut into him, his blood suddenly shot out as if it was being launched by a cannon, David drastically increasing his blood pressure to a clearly superhuman level. This blood was not only traveling at speeds exceeding even David's own, they were also hardened and congealed together, making them akin to bullets made of nothing but his body fluid, which would pierce Okita's skin if successful.

While the blood bullets were firing at point-blank range, David's leg jumped upward, kicking downward and creating a burst of gravity that flew towards Okita's back, slamming her against the ground with enough force to shatter the floor if successful. This burst of gravity was extremely wide, enough to take up the majority of the room, and was thus difficult to dodge outright.

There was a note in the next page Gabriel flipped to, on a piece of paper: "☹︎✋︎☝︎☟︎❄︎ 💣︎✌︎☝︎✋👍📪︎ ☟︎⚐︎🕈︎☜︎✞︎☜︎☼︎📪︎ ☹︎✌︎👍😐💧💣︎✌︎☠︎✡︎ 🕈︎☜︎✌︎😐︎☠︎☜︎💧💧︎☜︎💧📪👌︎🕆︎❄︎ ✋︎❄︎ 👎︎⚐︎☜︎💧︎ ☠︎⚐︎❄︎ 💣✋︎✠︎ 🕈︎☜︎☹︎☹︎ 🕈︎✋︎❄︎☟︎ 👎︎✌︎☼︎😐💣︎✌︎☝︎✋👍📪✋︎☠︎❄︎☜︎☼︎☜︎💧︎❄︎✋︎☠︎☝︎📪✋︎ ☠︎☜︎☜︎👎︎ ❄︎⚐︎ ☜︎✠︎🏱︎☹︎⚐︎☼︎☜︎ ❄︎☟︎✋💧︎ ☞︎🕆︎❄︎☟︎☜︎☼︎📬︎"

("Light Magic, however, lacks many weaknesses, however it does not mix well with Dark magic, interesting, I need to explore this further.")

It wax clearly a note from Cullthane, likely when he was making it as the Seraphim just patiently waited

Okita was able to deflect and parry the bullets easily despite being at close range by summoning far shorter energy blades, but, she wasn't able to completely dodge or avoid the gravity burst, and thus, to avoid severe injury, Okita manipulated her kinetic energy, using the gravity to instead propel her speed as she was manipulating the direction in which the energy that was being applied on her body moved her, allowing her to swirl around at even greater speeds to then try and cut through David's once more while increasing the length of her blade with energy to also hit his lower-half as well, trying to cut both in half at the same time after she confirmed he could most likely reform himself.

Gabriel noticed this note, tilting her head a bit as she simply continued reading, eventually closing the book after she'd read all of it and letting out a breath of satisfaction.

"Yeah... This should help a lot..." She murmured with a smile.

David's body was cut in half by her blades, unable to react to her increased speed. The four parts of his body collapsed, his blood beginning to pool on the ground.

"...alright. That's enough." one half of his face said wearily.

Okita breathed out, before turning to him, her face going pale for a moment before she then realized he could put himself back together, breathing out a sigh of relief.

"Thank the heavens... Sorry, I may have gone overboard..." She said apologetically, clearly worried she killed the man for a moment.

"It's fine. Ya only cut through me, so It ain't like I gotta grow a new body or somethin" David said, one half of his face sighing.

"Can ya do me a favor and push the two parts of my legs together?" He said.

Okita did just that with no hesitation, letting out another sigh of relief.

"I'm glad Ythala wasn't around to even hear this go down..." Okita thought to herself.
"Good. By the way, Metatron could need some therapudic help. I know you enjoy that." Cullthane said, teleporting to the wall to watch for the train just as Terevion came to pick up Gabriel, sweaty from a clearly intense training session
Gabriel just sighed, turning to Terevion, snapping her fingers and cleaning off his sweat as she went to where Tokugawa said the trains usually appeared as the sun slowly went down, clearly setting up some sort of spell as she spread a large magical circle across the ground, clearly entirely focused on her task.

Okita did just that with no hesitation, letting out another sigh of relief.

"I'm glad Ythala wasn't around to even hear this go down..." Okita thought to herself.
As soon as the legs were pushed together, tendrils of flesh and viscera began to connect the two body parts, forcefully pulling them together. The same thing happens to David's torso as his body began to reform itself. His legs began to push forward, dragging themselves along the ground until they attached themselves to his upper body. He continued to lay on the ground, panting slightly.

"...Ya pretty good, ya know? Not even Rory can cut me up like that..." He said, staring at the ceiling.

"Well, she lacks the speed that I do... I am able to manipulate weight and kinetic energy, and thus, I am quite adept at cutting when I have gained sufficient speed." Okita said, sheathing her blade as she wiped the blood off of it.

"I am unworthy of such praise..." Okita said with an embarrassed chuckle, "Regardless, I thank you for the spar... I will be taking my leave now to my room now, besides, I believe night approaches, anyway..." She said.

(Going to sleep.)
