Ragnarök-RP Thread

The man clenched his fists before placing his right hand on Lance's shoulder, his hand having a multitude of silver rings upon it. He gripped Lance's shoulder, Lance feeling as if every bone in his arm was about to shatter into a million pieces.

"Then tell me..."

Lance could feel the bloodlust emanating off of the man. But it would soon subside. So long as he got an answer...

"Who was it?"

"....shit shit shit SHIT" Lance thought.

he glanced at the others. Before turning back to the man.

It would be all too easy to sell out David. all too easy to save his own hide. It's not as if he particularly liked the man, and this man was perfectly in his right to seek revenge against David for what he had done.

"well......" Lance started, glancing at the man.

he sighed.

"Do you know of a man named...."

"...Adrian Xerxes?" Lance said finally.

"And your sure you don't want to rethink your answer...?"

The man let go of Lance's shoulder, his arms hanging down as he continued to glare at Lance. He then looked up, sniffing the air.

"Before I give mine...?"

"......"

"... I'm sure," Lance said, glancing at the man.

"He is the reason the desert was flattened," Lance said. Which wasn't entirely untrue. It was Adrien's attack that had prompted David to take such rash action, after all. some of the blame could surely be put on him.

He established a mental link with Metatron, covering it with several mental barriers as he quickly rushed a telepathic message to the angel.

"....as soon as he moves towards me...create the strongest barrier you can..." That was all Lance thought, not breaking eye contact with the man.

"...The reason...?" The man asked, more veins beginning to bulge violently upon his forehead.

"...You know that isn't what I'm asking." The man said, Lance began feeling the air around him compress, beginning to crush him.

"...Lance, sell out the man right now."

"...What they have done goes beyond mere human deaths... What he or she has done sprung something far beyond that." The man gritted his teeth.

"...I will not ask again. Do you truly know the culprit...The man who actually did the deed. Or do you NOT?"

"...Do not kill yourself for David. The man has done nothing for you." Metatron said.

"This person isn't human. He isn't a demon. He is a dragon..."

"Well? Answer me."

"He is a Dominator-Class Draconic Entity... The highest class of dragon possible. He cannot be defeated here. So please, just let go of your sliver of idealism... And save yourself."

Lance gazed at the man for a long moment. Slowly, he extended his telepathic range, encompassing the entire group, aside from the man in front of him.

"....If anyone can contact David." He thought

"...tell him to get the hell out of this place, NOW."

He maintained his eye contact with the man, slowly, he began to speak.

"......."

"...They call him King Tiger...." Lance said bluntly, staring at the man.

"He is the one who launched the attack."

Lance glanced at the man.

"god damn it" he thought. He had hoped to buy David at least some time by using his stage name, but the man was smarter then to use names alone.

"...why did he do it...?" Lance said

".....the man.....made a rash decision... in the midst of battle," Lance said finally.

"..We were in a fight...with Adrien Xerxes, and he wanted to protect his...comrades from harm...by destroying the sand around the mage....I suppose." Lance said, glancing at the man.

"...but....he miscalculated the range of the attack.....with dire consequences..."

"....He....he did not commit the act purposely. he's....an idiot....but he would never initially slaughter innocents." Lance said. He tried to avoid answering any other revealing questions but could feel that time was running out.

"This is the one they went in, right..? There's no time to lose." Yharon thought, stepping into the crack that opened up with another individual, one that had shrunken his true size to fit into the rift; Ivan the Terrible.

Yharon landed in the flat sands, immediately sending his Clairvoyance out and picking out the main group

"Ivan, you have their location, right?" Yharon asked the now full size Emperor who stood at fifty feet tall minimum

"Yes, King Yharon, let us dispense justice to the rebel." Ivan's tone was one of dark glee, reminding Yharon that the Emperor did have this issue usually, and both teleported to the shack at once

"I would believe your justice will have to wait." Yharon actively spoke, his eyes glowing through his helmet with firey stubbornness

"...He did such a thing accidentally...?" The man asked.

"...You speak the truth, trickster...?"

"...He did such a thing accidentally...?" The man asked.

"...You speak the truth, trickster...?"
"....."

"...I swear on it. the man would never have performed such a deed on purpose." Lance said.

"...he....he has dedicated his life...to protecting the innocent. To helping....the weak. Ask any of his traveling companions, and they'll tell you the same."

"...He did such a thing accidentally...?" The man asked.

"...You speak the truth, trickster...?"
"He does indeed. That man, David, most likely tore himself a new one after he did it, am I right, Draedon?" Yharon responded, expecting his technology specialist to respond

"Considering he wanted to commit suicide and tried walking off into the desert to do something or another, I'd say so." Draedon said

"...Is that so..." The man asked.

"...Bring him to me. Only then will we begin to talk."

The man turned to Ivan and Yharon, "...Two rulers... Two more nuisances..." The man let out an abnormally deep sigh.

"I shall repeat. Bring the King of Tigers to me."

"You should be more careful, one of us is quite kill-happy at the moment... But very well, you may speak to him at a distance with myself and Ivan staying close to him, I'm not going to take a chance with someone I currently can't get a real read on." Yharon responded, waiting just to the side of the entrance to the shack

(Missed an opportunity to call him the Tiger King lol)

David was sitting in the desert. His eyes closed, his legs crossed together as he sat flat on the ground, completely motionless.

He was....meditating. Something David had never done before. Something he had never thought he needed. He wasn't even sure if it worked. He had just heard about it a few years ago while talking with some dreamers he had saved. He had heard it was great for...emotional health.

He breathed in deeply. And breathed out. A regular pattern of inhaling and exhaling permeating the air around him. He focused on how his body was feeling. The sand underneath his feet. The breeze blowing against his muscles. The warm, night air washing over him. The wounds he had gotten from Adrien, aching silently as his body slowly mended them.

He began...to ask questions. Questions to himself. Attempting a form of introspection. As he slowly gathered and rearranged his thoughts.

"......Why do I keep hurting people..." David thought to himself.

"...how can I stop hurting people...."

"...how can I help those I care for..."

He sat there, pondering those questions silently, letting them wash over him. Searching himself deeply for the answers.

Slowly, he tried answering them.

"....I keep hurting people....because I'm careless. reckless, and have poor control over myself...and my emotions." David thought.

"....by....by gaining better control over myself...by thinking before I act....by considering viewpoints aside from my own......I can...stop hurting Gabriel. I can stop hurting Rory....I can stop hurting Masayoshi."

....and I can help them...by becoming a better person...."

He spent a long while like this. Asking himself simple questions, and attempting to find the answer within his thoughts. He couldn't help the group now. Not as he was. So he was trying to improve himself....in any way he could. And if meditation would help him get even slightly closer to where he wanted to go. Then it was worth a shot.

"...There you lay, King of Beasts..." The man said, seeming to actually mistake King Tiger as some sort of Beast King.

"Now thou must truly realize the gravity of thine actions. Not with death... For that was never my intention." The man turned around and began to walk in David's direction.

"You killed, you swept away countless eons worth of life energy from the land, weaving despair and anguish into the dry soil. If Set didn't exist, he surely does now..." The man said as the rest of the group regained their ability to move.

"...Who the hell are you...?"

"Thou can call me Antares. Ant for short is also acceptable."

"Then where the hell did you come from!? Where are all these people coming from!? First the sand wizard guy and now you!?" Rory shouted out.

"Your predicament is confusing, yes. But I assure you I bear no concern or cares for it within my non-existent heart." Antares said.

Rory sighed, "...Whatever. Mind explaining what you mean by Set surely exists now...?"

"I am going to the Tiger King."

"Answer my question first-"

"You speak too much, woman. Like a sow who has just entered thy period. I am going to the Tiger King." Antares said as he dashed towards King Tiger's direction.

"...What the hell did he just say to me...????" Rory said.

David continued his slow meditation, a feeling of calm washing over his body.

"...I should....do this more often..." David thought. It was nice. He felt like...despite seemingly doing nothing, that he had gained something. taken a step in the right direction.

His eyes suddenly shot open, a feeling of intense dread quickly replacing the calm he had acquired prior.

"...what the hell....?" David thought. He sensed someone. Someone strong. and it was approaching him at an extraordinarily fast rate.

"It's not anyone from the group......is it the survivor...?" David thought. a cold sweat slowly forming on his body.

he sighed deeply.

".....I need...to face it. I knew I would have to face it...eventually."

".....I would need to deal with...what I have done...to these people"

He stood upward, and mentally prepared himself for whatever would happen next.

"You flinch not, I presume?"

The man's nails turned into claws, said claws grazing against King Tiger's eye. "Or are you perhaps steeled for death while preparing for upcoming life?" Antares asked.

"I shall ask... Are you the one who flattened this desert?"

Antartes felt fire spring up and consume his lower body, but this fire somehow burned even hotter then the sun, no, it burned so hot it seemed like a flash of light rather then fire, clearly completely unnatural as it began dragging him away, nothing being done seeming to put it out

"Did you honestly think I wouldn't be able to catch you?" Yharon asked

David stood there. Despite his large size, he was forced to look up at the man. He didn't move. letting the man graze his claws against him.

"......"

"Yes...I am the one...who destroyed this land." David said. His tone was sad, but firm. He wasn't going to weasel out of this.

Antares didn't flinch or pay any mind to the fire that Yharon had created as he let out an inhale, "Ahhh..." And the flames retracted into his stomach.

"Then I presume you realize the weight of your actions?" With each of his words towards David fire lit up within his mouth, his eyes a deep mix of crimson and orange.

"...Do you have any idea at all the consequences of what you have done...?"

"......."

"I know I killed. So many. So many......people." David said. looking at the man.

"Innocent people. People who didn't deserve to die." David said, his fists slowly closing.

"People....people with emotions....dreams....ambitions..."

"and I've robbed them of all of it. A single moment of carelessness, and they're gone..."

David stood silent for a moment.

"...I've done something....unforgivable. I know that."

"...and I...understand, if you want....revenge."

The fire suddenly began burning Antartes on every level of existence, in fact, there wasn't a thing the fire wasn't burning

"Also, my fire is capable of damaging and eventually killing Sinners, trying to absorb it only kills you further, even if I can control it to only permanently cripple you... pass your judgment and be along. You are a just person, but I value my allies more then I do you or this desert..." Yharon said. Now standing in the way of Antartes, but not in such a way he blocked view of King Tiger, his eyes flashed that he was willing to kill even if he didn't want to here

Antares once again did not flinch at the King of Fire's assault, "Do you truly believe I care for such a petty thing as revenge? Do you truly think I care for this desert?" The man's affinity for flames seemed to out of this world.

He immediately regenerated, the fires of Yharon still bubbling within his stomach. "This goes far beyond something as petty as revenge, child of Jormungandr. No, I am also a child of the Primordial Snake Mother, so that is not who I shall call you. Yharon, is it? We are brothers through time, it seems."

Antares sat down, crossing his legs. "Sit. King of Tigers, King of Flames, sit with me."

"Yharon...." David put his hand on the man's shoulder.

"...This is between me and this man."

"....I...appreciate the concern..."

"But...this man doesn't seem to want to kill me. Not yet, anyway."

"...so please...chill out." David said bluntly.

"....."

"...If you aren't here for revenge...then...why?

".....what have I done?"

Yharon sat down, morphing the sand into cushions for them to sit on and created a table that had water for Antartes and David and Tea for a Yharon

"So, what story will you tell?" Yharon asked, his previous aggression seeming to vanish along with all the fire in the area and in Antartes, indeed it seemed like fire couldn't even start anymore in the area

"What have you done? Is it not obvious? You've killed hundreds if not thousands of innocent human lives, King of Tigers. But that is not what concerns me..."

Antares sipped on the water, but it only evaporated as soon as it touched his lips, although, he seemed to enjoy the steam. Antares held his hand out, forming a large crimson hologram in his hand in the shape of a globe, seeming to contain countless continents and countries.

"What forms calamities? Despair. What did you cause through your supposedly accidental mass murder? Despair." The hologram then disappeared.

"That was a dumbed-down version of the multiverse I use to navigate effectively. Tears in reality that were already heavily corrupted are growing even more corrupted by the second. Set did not exist in this place, no. But through the despair you caused... You've given him his own existence. His own ego, and his own personal legend. You've created a calamity of epic proportions, something which we fight to prevent, King of Beasts."

David stared at the man for a moment.

".....god ******* damn it..." David cursed.

"So those people....in their last moments...they felt....despair...?" David said.

"......."

"...did they suffer that much...before they died...?" David asked quietly.

"By the looks of the damage, some abnormal downward force was applied to their bodies. The land was reduced to quarks, so it is unlikely they suffered for more than a mere moment." Antares said.

"......I'm glad....it was quick then...I'm glad they didn't suffer...." David said, sighing as he took a sip of the water Yharon had made.

"....How do I stop....this calamity I created?" David said, looking at the man.
