"Semantics."

I respond as i watch Donte throw up sand, while having bow and arrow ready since really i don't thrust water.

Nothing came around to interfere with Donte's process of rising the riverbed; a few curious fish came close to investigate the sand, only to quickly dart away. Soon, the riverbed rose up enough that the survivors could now easily cross the river.

"Nice work, now let's go."

I tell Donte as i start crossing the artificial birdge, while staying catius and checking the waters on both sides before i cross.

The survivors successfully crossed the makeshift bridge of sand with no issue.

The mountain loomed skywards before them, the natural construction of stone a dark gray with a distinct reddish hue. As the survivors approached, they could see a sort of ramp of stone traveling up the side of the mountain towards the cave like a stairway.

"Odds were pretty low, all things considered. Uncharted island in this day and age? Unlikely. Plus with all the kaiju around, anyone who did land was likely nommed sooner or later."

"I guess."

"Also now that i think about it, i had found other traces of human activities a while back, i wonder if they are correlated with this.

The survivors would find the stairs to be quite stable and strong, easily supporting them as they proceeded upwards. The pathway travelled up the mountain diagonally, leading to a small platform of stone before the mouth of the cave. From the look of things, it seemed that the slab of stone previously covering the cave had served as a blockade. The darkness within the opening made it difficult to peer inside.

@Over

The arrow provided a purple glow that provided light for the survivors. The glow of the arrow proved sufficient enough for the group to find their way in the cave should they decide to enter.

"Maybe it ain't humans. Could be some humanoid lizards who made this place? Sounds whack, I know. But to be fair, we got hydras flying around so it ain't the most out there idea."

The survivors entered the cave and traversed forward with no hindrance in their path. The cave was wide and broad, easily accomodating the group as they pressed forward through the cavern. The glow of the moonlight arrow provided a purple light that partly added to the increasingly unsettling atmosphere of the survivors' surroundings.

As the group ventured ventured further into the cave, the light from the entrance soon disappeared from sight, leaving the survivors with only the arrow as their source of light. From what they could see, the walls were starting to take on the appearance of some strange carved stone, dripping with blue ooze and latent uneasiness. After a moment more of walking, the survivors discovered what seemed to be images painted onto the walls of the cave. They seemed to be some sort of monsters, or symbols representing monsters. The paintings portrayed such monsters as a giant moth, a pterosaur, and a three-headed dragon.

But what stood out amongst the murals was the painting of a great leviathan surrounded by some of these monsters. This painting was the largest and stood within the midst of the cave art.

Beneath this painting were a set of words, the likes of which looked like gibberish to the survivors. The words formed a sentence of sorts, which could only be read as: Ph'nglui h' wgah'nagl llll Tokyo, mglw'nafh Gojira fhtagnor fhtagn.

I go closer to the murals, to take a better look at the writing.

"Tokyo ... Gojira ..."

I think out loud, as i try form an an ipotesis on the meaning of the carvings.

"So, ignoring the eldritch words, those are either tiny geckos next to the moth or the hydra is our good ole storm buddy and this Jurassic Park just became Pacific Rim ...... think we will find any mechs lying around?"

"At this point, I don't know what would even surprise me at all. Well, it seems that three headed creature wasn't the only one of its kind."

"Or we may find a friendly kaiju or something along those lines."

I respond to Donte, while continuing to look at the wall.

Then, i turn towards him and Nicholas.

"So, here's my theory: This huge ass lizard is Gojira"

I say while ponting at the mural of it.

"and it's what attacked our ship."

"Also, it attacked Tokyo."

"If the big guy in the middle is Goji and was responsible for stranding us, then we have another hostile dinosaur but this time as large as the hydra (who apparently spits lightning) trying to nom us. Any chance they can kill each other and save us the hassle?"

"We can only hope that happens, but with our luck, it probably won't happen."

I then sign.

"Anyway, we should probably explore a bit more than return to the surface."

I propose

(May I join this at some point? I've a few creatures and humans in mind that I could utilize for this type of thing.)

The survivors would only be able to continue gawking at the cave paintings for a moment more before they'd find their spelunking coming to an unexpected end.

"Ahf' bug ahagl?!" The female voice as several beings quickly approached the group of survivors, spears and tridents aimed at them and poised to stab. The strange beings resembled some sort of blend between women and the leviathan in the cave paintings, bearing the beast's dark blue scaly skin, dorsal spines, and long tail. Their hair was short and black as charcoal, and their fiery orange eyes sported slit pupils. They wore a measly collection of torn rags that could just barely qualify as clothing, with at least one of the beings straight up going topless. Their weapons were tipped with what looked like the same kind of carved stone that made up the walls surrounding the groups, and several of them carried torches that held a bright blue flame.

"....... damn I really called the lizardmen tribe thing." I mutter under my breath before raising my arms beside my head. "Uh, what do we do now guys?"

"Well, I don't particularly like the sound of giving up here, so I'd say we fight." Nicholas answers before stomping the ground, letting out a shockwave in an attempt to blast away the weapons of the lizard people.

Facepalming at Blake's course of action, What else can one do in response to that? I release a wave of sand from my mouth to hopefully blind the lizards so we can escape.

Nicholas' stomp caused the surrounding cave walls to shake, the stone beneath his foot cracking slightly. The monster girls, however, easily withstood the shockwave as they were prompt to retaliate just as Donte released his sand breath. The women who carried tridents raised up their pointed pole arms as they took aim upon the survivors, before their weapons fired off a blast of azure energy that struck each one of the protagonists head-on.

Immediately the group felt their power being nullified, their strength rapidly plummetting as they found themselves collapsing to the stone floor. Donte's sand breath attempt came to a prompt end as soon as it started, and Blake's moonlight arrow dissipated, leaving only the blue glow of the monster girls' torches as the only available light source now.

Stepping forward, the women surrounded the survivors as the tallest of them kept her trident raised, poised to strike. "Who are you and what are you doing here?" She spoke now in English as she glared at the group.

"We washed up here. Ship was attacked by one of those giant creatures on your murals. We were trying to figure out what was going on here and you all didn't exactly look enthusiastic about chatting."

"I am Blake"

I say

"They are Nicholas and Donte, sorry for their attack"

I continue, pointing at the respective ally while saying their name.

"We came here because we noticed the giant three headed barstard blowing up a part of the mountain, so we wanted to see what it had attacked."

The monster girl remained silent as she listened on to the survivors' explanations. Her expression seemed to change from one of anger to seemingly shock as the survivors gave their story. "So he has returned," The women muttered mostly to herself, whispers being heard amongst their kin as they took in the news.

Lowering her weapon to her side, the monster girl ceased her aggressive posture as she looked down at the survivors. "We didn't expect to see any humans here. The last ones that came here had tried to eliminate us."

"Ghidorah didn't try to destroy this mountain," One of the other monster girls responded to Blake. "He is one of this island's guardians, and he's recently been becoming more active with patrolling the island."

"Normally there's a storm surrounding this island to prevent humans and others from approaching, but if you're here, then that means he has returned," The tallest of the women noted, a slight tone of fear in her voice.

"I take it you mean that fat one the hy- Ghidorah is fighting in the cave paintings?" I say pointing to the wall we had previously been looking at.
